Rate this book

La libertad es llama que enaltece,
la mano solidaria su alimento;
rechaza el yugo, el mando y el tormento,
y en cada igual su fuerza prevalece.

La propiedad injusta desfallece
ante el amor que rige el fundamento;

It is an important piece of anarchist history but i think it follows the same mistakes as Marx and most writers of the 19th century in assuming a teleological view of history and therefore being able to see into the future. It is clearly an early attempt at making anarchism into a 'scientific' and historically grounded theory, thereby negating the communists' claims that anarchism is simply utopian. However, I'm not convinced that that was ever necessary. A foundation on ethics rather than the claim that we can see the direction history is moving in seems a lot more believable to me.
