I’m confused by what this novella wants to be. There is quite a bit of smut, but there are also information dumps on environmental initiatives and BDSM protocols. I’m no BDSM expert but this reads like what someone with a cursory knowledge of BDSM that was gleaned from popular alpha-hole romance novels thinks it is.
We have Grant, “alpha dominant”, CFO of Manning & Cross and all around douchenozzle. Why is he a douchenozzle to Jared? Mostly a contrived reason which he uses to excuse his treatment of him as something he stepped in. Jared is working crazy stupid hours trying to please his overbearing boss and suffering emotionally and physically because of it, yet he’s somehow, inexplicably attracted to him.
Alrighty. Whatevs. I’m down for enemies to lovers with some kinky, angry sex. It just never materialized.
They strike an odd agreement, have semi-hot sex in an elevator then the next thing you know Jared’s wearing a lace blindfold and some leather cuffs calling Grant “master”? What the… erm… does not compute. Too much happened too quickly with little to no supporting emotionality or growth for me to be able to take that leap with them.
If this had stuck to porn and not tacked on an unbelievable HEA thanks in large part to the magic cock it probably would’ve been more enjoyable for me. I’m much more capable of suspending reality within that context. As it was I found it to be an uninspired and condensed version of any number of popular m/f romance novels with flat characters that I have no connection with.
Unfortunately this didn’t work for me, but perhaps it will work for someone else.

Who knew? Who knew that you could lust after a man that was..well such a....yeah so Jared's boss was a pain..never gave a compliment, always expected better than was was given, even if what was given exhausted his workers. Until one night after work, when the elevator stopped working. Ahhh then..then we see exactly what makes Grant tick and WOW what an amazing ride these two go on. Both professionally and personally. Such a great story, filled with lust and who was in charge where..yeah it's that good. Can they have a committed relationship with one being the boss and the other his sub...I mean one of his workers? You will need to read this to find out. Great story, but hey that is just my opinion :) Read it and make your own.
