After fighting tooth and nail to reach his cabin in Ohio, Mike Grant has finally been reunited with his family. The safe haven he built has enough supplies to last them for months, but with the extra mouths to feed that timeline is shrinking fast.

With a murderous gang of bikers in the nearby town, a loose alliance with a neighboring hunter, and tension building from members inside his own group, Mike has to navigate the murky waters of trust in this post-EMP world, and hard choices have to be made. Friends are lost and family bonds are tested as Mike is pushed to the brink in this thrilling next installment of the “Broken” series.

Mike's world is upside down. His daughter is changing before his eyes, he makes an alliance with a local farmer who is not what he seems, and his group is beginning to fracture. Will they survive until the power returns?

Couldn't put it down.

I love this story. Very well written and believable. It's hard to imagine life without electricity but James Hunt does great job imagining what terrible things humans are capable of. James keeps us hanging on till the last line. I'll say it again, this would make a great movie and I can't wait to read the next book.

The whole set together is a harsh reality story of what can and probably will happen if the lights go out. A family in a neighborhood, then torn apart by group-think, then on to the cabin the family had prepared. The next steps are so real, so scary I felt like I had been through the wringer by the time it was over. Excellent story.

Hated the ending

I enjoyed reading this book but there was a lot of graphic violence but the series ending just totally ruined all three books for me. I won't be reading anything more by this author ever!

Broken Ties is the third book in A Tale of Survival In A Powerless World series written by author James Hunt. All I can say is NO you can't end the story like this!

Broken ties

Was an ok read. Fairly short but too violent for my taste. Not as violent as the second book in the series...Broken Roads.

Broken

This is a good story but there were a couple of jumps in the story line. Still worth a read.

Awesomeness

The story continues and so does the suspense. You feel this family. You become a member as you pass page by page through their lives and their struggle to survive.

Exciting!

The third book in this series about their journey without power that these characters face each day. The trust issues are changing them forever.

Great book. The only thing I had trouble with, was the, so many characters you have to keep track of. Altogether, loved the book.

Betrayal, murder, unbounded heroism and deep family ties are all in this tale. Can life's trials get any more involved?
