Loved this book and it was a quick read for me! Sierra has a lot of trauma in her past and her preferred way to deal with it....unalive disgusting and bad men. And just from this alone, I knew I'd love her. She's strong, independent, and also stubborn but can you blame her?! While Julian also loves getting his hands bloody, he's her best friend's brother and the bane of her existence. So what will happen when he finds out she's the one that the news is dubbing the Slasher?? The tension between these two is insane and I love how spicy it is when they finally give in to each other. They both have some darkness and they just work so well together! It has so many of my favorite tropes/themes and I knew I'd devour this one!

Mayhem just topped temptation I knew I'd love Julian and Sierra story I can fully relate Sierra on so many levels her walls she built up and being stuck in your head, the hatred for the men that caused that pain the torment of hating to being touched. Knowing there men out there hurting others like her. The mothers who did nothing to protect those innocent ones.
Julian Dominguez is everything you dream of every feral desire the protection of him the way he never gave up no matter what she did.
Marcelo intrigued me his announcement had me a bit shocked I wasn't surprised just the way he kept staring at Mika.
Catalina friendship with Sierra had my heart. She loves cat so much just as cat loves Sierra
My favorite line from Julian is

Not too long ago, I had the opportunity to read the first book in this series, Temptation. I enjoyed the Cartel aspect and thought that book was very well written. So when this book came out, I was excited to read where Julian’s and Sierra’s story would take us. I was absolutely not disappointed. I think I enjoyed Mayhem even more than Temptation. This book was about trauma, damage, healing, and revenge. It deals with battling demons that were long since buried. This book was even darker than Temptation and I felt like it was so much more emotional than Temptation. I was addicted to this story and blew through it in a day. It was one of thiose books that I just didn’t want to put down.
We met the MCs in this book in Temptation, and it was there that we got a small taste of the trauma that Sierra has had in her life. Her abduction with Lina and assault broke the dam that was holding back what she had dealt with in her childhood. When we first meet her in this book, she is dealing with her trauma the only way she knows how, by getting justice for people like her. Sierra can’t stand to be touched and actually thinks she might be broken. But Julian shows her that she isn’t broken. I could appreciate Julian. He isn’t the sweet hero riding in on a white horse to save her. He is her Demon. He may not be a hero but he is what Sierra needs.
I love when author’s write survivors that deal with their trauma differently than what you expect. Often SA survivors find healing in a partner that is rough and takes control. Often people expect survivors to need to be treated like a fragile egg that can break any minute and that’s just not always the case. I love that Sierra needed something different. She needed what Julian could give.
I really enjoyed this story. It is dark and it is definitely one that you need to check the trigger warnings. This story has a lot of spice and there is insane (in multiple uses of that word) chemistry between Julian and Sierra. I really did not want to stop reading this story and I thought that the author did such a great job with this story.

Wow, wow, wow is all I can really say about Mayhem. Wanting to know Sierra’s back story didn’t prepare me for what really happened. Thinking she is not worthy of anything because of her trauma when she was younger and then on top of that being kidnapped and assaulted while her best friend watching puts her on a path, she doesn’t think she can escape from. Knowing that what she is doing messed up but at the same time saving those that are just like her when she was younger.
Oh, then you have Julian, or Demon as Sierra calls him. Maybe he is a demon, but he is Sierra’s demon and only he can keep her out of her head and keeping her secret safe. However, there is an attraction, mostly obsession, Julian has for Sierra. Whether by chance or the clever work of a mutual friend to them both, Sierra’s activities are witnessed by Julian and what he sees just makes him want to possess Sierra even more.
Together they go on a journey of self-discovery, a little cat-and-mouse play, and well a lot of self-healing in the bathroom, the back of an alley, a bar counter, and well anywhere else that works. Ropes might be involved and oh yeah, a few piercings that would make anyone salivate.
Layla has done it again and I have to say she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read all future stories in the Cartel of Sinners series, as well as other stories Layla has to tell! Disclaimer: this book is heavy on child SA as well as adult SA. Make sure to check the triggers and know that your mental health is important.

Juliana and Sierra are perfect badass couple and they compliment each other pretty well. I loved the Possessiveness and the chemistry they had between them
But now the question is will Catalina be a issue or a support for them? As Catalina is Sierra's best friend and Julian is Catalina's brother.
But i bet that you'll love the book to the core and will enjoy this to the end.

So I didn't get a chance to read the first book in the series before this one, but that was OK since it reads like a standalone.
Julian and Sierra are unhinged and perfect for each other. With all the traumas that Sierra experienced, she needed someone who could take it all in and not judge her for it. Julian was obsessed, possessive, and damaged just as much as Sierra. They had the chemistry from the start, and the banter was just foreplay.
Overall, it is a quick read that has a good balance of plot and spice. Highly recommend for fans of dark romance and enemies to lovers.

Temptation was a solidly good read for me, but Mayhem? This is a clear 5 star read for me. Mafia romance, enemies to lovers, best friends brother? Hello, some of my favorite tropes. Add in a (literal) stabby FMC and protective AF MMC, and I'm beyond sold.
Sierra was an incredible character in Temptation, someone who would do anything for her best friend and protect her at all costs. Now she's the protector for many, and her annoyance/hate/lust for mafia prince Julian is in full bloom. Julian is strong, violent, and doesn't do love but can not get Sierra out of his mind. Has this not convinced you yet?!
It was hard to put this one down, and the spice is spicing. Be sure to check TWS because it's a dark one, but I would 100% recommend this to any mafia romance lover.

This book! Where do I even begin. If you love Dark Romance, Mafia Romance with some stalker vibes and he falls first trope then this is the book for you!
I could not stop reading once I picked this book up. Julian a man with a heart as black as coal falls for his sister's best friend a girl who hates him (or does she?) and wants nothing to do with him or men in general. Sierra is still healing from past traumas as well as coming to terms with her multiple deleter spree when she gets an unexpected ally. While trying to navigate how to tell her best friend and also her possible feelings for the Demon she swears she hates she finds love unexpectedly.
So if you love mafia/cartel romances with a multiple deleter FMC/Hot Billionaire Mafia/Cartel leader with stalker vibes, he falls first and hard with a freaking twist this is the book for you! I can not wait for book three! Absolutely phenomenal job!

this book was an enemies to lovers, best friend's brother, dark romance with such good banter !! it broke my heart seeing all that she's been though, but i love how she's so fierce and independent. even after going though so much and having all that trauma, she helped others who have been in similar situations and kinda took justice in her own hands, and was such a badass. i also loveee her friendship with catalina & how they always show up for one another. julian and sierra find a confidant in eachother, their characters compliment eachother so well and the chemistry between them was everythinggg! i'm so glad they got their well deserved happy ending & i cannot wait to learn more about the rest of the characters!

Wow!!! I had high expectations for book two in this series and it was everything I thought it would be!!! If you love dark romance, mafia, vigilante vibes (serial killer vibes… I mean they had it coming), strong badass women and possessive/obsessive morally grey men then you will love this book!!
Siera, the FMC has been through hell and while some may not agree with how she handles her trauma she is one badass fictional character in my book. (again this isn't reality and we can alll love these crazy worlds that authors create).
Julian, while clearly morally grey (I mean hello mafia cartel on day. was lalso avail, sweeter and die vinesi nitis
literally). He was also alpha to the core and took what he wanted with no apologies.

I can’t with you Layla! You did it again with the next book! It was another book that I enjoyed. The plot was amazing. Your books are never boring! This book was phenomenal with the way Layla put together Sierra and Julian’s stories not only personal but their love story. You feel like the hurt and the rage and revenge that Sierra wanted. Trust me I’m all for it! Julian was like a natural born killer. He finds a soft spot for Sierra and even though she tries to fight it; I’m so glad they realize that love is meant to be.

I absolutely loved Mayhem. From the moment I read Temptation I fell in love with Julian and Sierra. They're chemistry is perfect in every way. Their nicknames are my freakn favorite, I melt every time he calls her Bruja. One thing that stuck out to me is how much I relate to Sierra. Her trauma and her story stuck to me like glue, and relating to her came so easy. I only wish I had a Julian of my own. These two go together so well, Mayhem had the perfect amount of drama with the perfect amount of smut, not to mention the ladder that had my mouth watering when I read it. The bar scenes were prob my favorite, both at the club and the hotel. The tension was just perfect, I was on the edge of my seat both times, holding my breath. The cover for Mayhem is beautiful it captured these two really well. I love their stubborn behavior especially Sierra's. And Julians kindness and patience with her, despite he desire for her was just 😩. The mirror scene made me cry like a baby! Layla's writing is so poetic, i found myself admiring the phrases she chose for a lot of scenes and thinking how amazing she did for it being her 2nd book. Layla doesn't write like a new author, her work shows her passion, it feels like she's been writing for years. I loved Mayhem, it is definitely my favorite so far, and I can't wait to see what she writes next.

After reading Temptation, I was excited to read this and I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! This book is about Sierra and her reaction to her past trauma, including what she experienced in Temptation, so if you haven’t read that, you might want to grab it and give it a read before Mayhem is released so you are informed on the background for this book (plus it’s a really good book too 😉). It’s not a necessity but highly recommended.
Mayhem follows Sierra and Julian’s story. They are both considered forbidden lovers to each other because Sierra is Catalina’s best friend and Julian is Catalina’s brother, so of course they would be attracted to each other, right? Only one big problem... They absolutely hate each other! So how’s that supposed to work? With the “help” of their friend Ry, they start crossing paths and discover each other’s secret, realizing they have more in common than they thought. Julian ends up being someone who helps Sierra to not only achieve her goals safely, but he also helps her find a piece of herself that she thought had been taken away from her forever. Once they see how deep they are getting with each other, one decides to go all in and the other decides to make a run for it to clear their head and hopefully rid their minds of the other (hint: It’s not that easy). Julian the man you are 😍. I loved Julian and Sierra’s story, Sierra’s tragic past and Julian’s determination was astounding. Also the little glimpse of Vengeance?! Um ma’am I need! But overall I’m happy I got to ARC read Mayhem! Which releases in 4 days! And on top of that? It was a short read. I highly recommend it as long as you read trigger warnings. Oh this ones spicy 🥵🥵🥵 but it also, very much so, has a plot. In fact Sierra, the FMC, has Trauma. If you've read the first book (which is highly recommended) then you have already been introduced to the main characters of this book and some of the situations they had to deal with.
This one picks up where the last one left off. And Sierra is trying to deal with life after trauma and Julian is already obsessed with her. So it does move pretty quickly from the get go. It was really nice to see a lot of the characters from the first book. And then there is the spice. It is plentiful and spicing.
I would definitely recommend this series to the spicy mafia romance lovers. It hits all the notes and is pretty well written. Plus this book has what is quickly becoming one of my favorite tropes - Murder guy meets murder girl and maybe they murder together? 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Some things to keep in mind though- Sierra does have Trauma and those things are brought up in this book. Be aware there are depictions of S@ on page, they are not between the FMC and MMC. They are flashbacks as well.

You need to read Book I Temptation first! Temptation left me with some loose ends, and while I had a theory, I was right and wrong. Oh boy did this book give me the revenge I wanted for Sierra (and Julian too)!!! Turns out they enjoy a little blood in more ways than one, and I loved every minute of it! (Nevermind that I’ll nearly pass out in real life. That is why this is fiction!) This story is so satisfying after what Sierra endured in Temptation, and we get to learn of her past (wasn't ready for that so hold onto your seats). Julian… That psycho is so loveable when it comes to how he views Sierra. They are perfect for each other. Don’t miss out! Get wrapped up in all of the feels and vigilante work.

Mean while her best friend brother had been hiding feeling for her. Only he has his own dark secrets he also has a taste for blood.
Julian and Sierra had tension that you could cut with a knife, Their chemistry and banter was off the walls. They are perfectly unhinged and made for each other.
This book has a great plot and a good balance of spice and storyline

The path Sierra takes is a dangerous one but with her catching the attention of MMC Julian, her best friends' brother he ensures her safety. Julian is protective, possessive and the perfect match for Sierra even though she does fight their connection Julian refuses to let what they have go. Tension, great banter, and spice this enemies to lover's mafia romance is definitely a book I recommend you read but I do suggest reading the triggers. I love this series and am eagerly waiting for the next book to be released.

Julian and Sierra's story was so hot! He's her best friend's older hot brother that she can't stand. And she's the little muneca he can't get out of his head. She's gone thru a some serious trauma in her life. To deal with it she wears a mask and takes out horrible men. One night Julian finds out what she's doing. He decides he needs to help her so she won't be caught. He starts to see the chaos they can create together. But she's a badass that doesn't need help from anyone especially not him. I loved this story and his nickname for her. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
