I really enjoyed Tainted Hearts. It was a fast burn steamy story set in the Omegaverse with Sierra, a gifted witch who's more powerful than she thinks. She'll meet her Ex Rowen a demon lord who's very mush the alpha male he's stubborn and very protective when it comes to Sierra along with his second in command Archer who's a dab hand with the knives and can find just about anyone. So when Sierra gets kidnapped by Callum, who's fae royalty and can Summon shadows almost like smoke which will come in handy. She'll discover she has three mates who will do anything to keep her safe. Especially with an evil force lurking and waiting to emerge just when they least expect it. It's definitely full of drama and suspense, and i loved Sierra and her guys and thought she was so brave when hard decisions had to be made. I especially loved that twist towards the end, which I didn't see coming, so i hope Good will Triumph over Evil, but I'll have to wait for the next story, which I can't wait.
This is a fast burning omegaverse. Sierra is a rare omega witch who fall for her ex Rowen king of hell. but when he broke her in many way, she finally able to put herself together. Only to be pulled back in his world because of Callum who is not only Rowen half brother but a powerful shadow daddy. Then there Archer he is Rowen second in charge who has powerful abilities because he is hybrid. But he is also more to Rowen then that and want Sierra since meeting her. They are all her mates but no matter how much she wants to deny them her heat is approaching quickly and she won’t accept them fully until her and rowen past are resolved. But they is so much going into the journey that includes dealing with shadow beast. But this book will leave you wanting more with the amazing cliffhanger.
Tainted Hearts is the first book in an omegaverse storyline that is a bit on the darker side. This first book has given us a strong and relatable heroine in Sierra, as she navigates her way through multiple unexpected mate bonds. There are a multitude of secrets among these characters and an air of mystery that kept me intrigued up to the end. The ending was rather intense and left me quite eager for the next book to be released!
Omegaverse with a twist...it has characters not normally seen in this world and let's just say it was perfect for it (at least for me). It has all the heat you can handle and the mystery that I so love. Throw in the supernatural and I am in love
I enjoy a good omegaverse, but I love paranormal romance even more. I especially loved when the two are combined, and that's exactly what I got with Jen D. Young's Tainted Hearts. It's a dark why-choose paranormal omegaverse that's right up my alley.
The story did feel a little chaotic. I couldn't figure out the timeline or how the worlds exactly worked, and some things could use a little tweaking; other than that, I really enjoyed it. This was a fast-burn romance. I mean, Jenn did not hit the pause button. Things were hot and heavy from the start and continued to burn at a steady pace. Sierra was a little feisty, but also very caring, despite her history with her ex, Rowen. Honestly, I thought she would have fought him a little more. Nevertheless, Callum (Shadow Daddy), Asher (the powerful hybrid), and Rowen (King of Hell) are all surprisingly great. Sierra has a good group that loves and supports not only her but each other.
I'll admit this book isn't what I was expecting, but I still enjoyed it. There was some past family drama. Rowen and Callum are half-brothers and weren't on good terms; even Asher had to work on issues he had with his parents. I liked how their new unique family was a theme throughout the story. There were subtle touches of magic that I enjoyed, plus mating bonds, magical research, and a shadow monster to defeat. If the Charmed episode "Woogy" had a baby with Freddy Krueger, then you get the Shadow Beast. Delightful, right? It's slightly disturbing but really entertaining. This book's tagline should be "Don't go to sleep." Haha.
The final few chapters were so fecking savage, I couldn't. Just mess with my emotions, why don't you? The ending was such a huge plot twist, and the story isn't even finished yet. Sierra, Callum, Asher, and Rowen still have things to do in Restored Bonds.
A Dark, Addictive Ride Through Secrets, Mates, and a Destiny Unfolding.
Tainted Hearts pulled me in from the first page and refused to let go. Sierra is the kind of heroine you can’t help but root for fierce, wounded, and unknowingly standing at the center of something far bigger than herself. Years after fleeing a past soaked in blood and betrayal, she’s thrust back into a world she tried so hard to escape... and the man she swore she’d never forgive? He shows up claiming she’s his mate.
But wait it gets even more complicated. Sierra’s not just dealing with one fated bond. She has three mates, each with their own secrets, strengths, and scars. Together, they must navigate not only the tangled threads of their connections, but also an encroaching darkness that could destroy everything they’re beginning to build.
This isn’t your typical omegaverse story. There’s grit, layers of mystery, and a heroine who doesn’t just submit she fights. Sierra only knows part of who she is, and uncovering the truth may be the key to saving not only herself but everyone she loves.
Every mate brings something vital to the table, and their dynamic kept me hooked tense, emotional, and passionate in all the right ways. And that ending? Definitely not what I expected. It left me blinking at the last page, desperate for more.
If you're craving an emotionally charged paranormal romance with twists, tension, and a touch of the unexpected, Tainted Hearts is a must-read.
Disclaimer: I voluntarily reviewed this book with no compensation. All thoughts are completely my own.
Sierra is part human and part witch, or so she thinks. She once knew two of the MMCs, Rowen and Archer, but they disappeared from her life, breaking her heart in the process. That is, until she's kidnapped by Callum and the two of them reappear to rescue her.
Overall, it's a really good storyline with quite a few twists and turns along the way. I did, however, get a little annoyed by the constant "have smexy times with me, cause I want to forget". Like every time Sierra heard something she didn't like, or was stressed, she wanted to sleep with one of the guys to "forget". She was also way too forgiving of Rowen and Archer; there needed to be a little more grovelling on their part.
One thing to point out is that this book is more poly than why choose. Rowen and Archer are both in an active relationship when they get back with Sierra, but there wasn't much mention of it in the content warning.
I do love the plot twists that happen, and one of them, especially, I wasn't fully expecting, so that was fun. Now, while this was originally going to be a standalone it is now in two parts as far as I know and even with my quibbles of the story, I really do want to know what happens to Rowen, Callum, Archer and Sierra
I really don't like the whole "I have to emotionally break my lover and leave her in order to protect her. I still love her, but I'm willing to have constant sex with other people while I'm away" shtick that some MLs do.
It's a theme that makes no sense to me because you love someone so much that.... you're okay with physical intimacy with other people besides the person you love? Okay...
Rowen had his reasons for leaving in order to protect Sierra, so I understand he did what he thought was best. But I can't take his love for Sierra seriously when he was partying around and f*cking multiple people (including one of the other MLs) while the FL was actively suffering. No thank you.
No hint, warning, or heads up that there is going to be MM within the main harem. I literally had to find out (not by choice) when Rowen said to Archer, "Once we find Sierra, I'm going to bend you over the nearest surface and take your ass raw." Really would've liked a heads up, because I was thrown out of a loop. Wasn't expecting it at all BECAUSE there was no indication from the author.
Sierra is special a witch and something more and she is going to be a special person more then she ever knew, now all of sudden as her 29th birthday is coming on she remembered her Gran said she would have a fated mating heat. Sierra was so upset that Rowen King of the Underworld came back into her life the man that broke her heart, she was shocked to find Callum, who was Rowen’s half-brother Ruler of the Fae realm, and that Archer Rowen’s right hand were to be her mates. There is a fight coming and since Sierra left the Human realm she has not seen any ghosts which she has always had an affinity as she is a necromancer. As Sierra and her fated mates finished the bonding, she is drawn into a dream, another realm, or what she was not sure but there she something that terrified her! As she and her mates look for answers can then find them and what happens if there is no answer? Can they accomplish the joining of the realms that Callum’s father has ask that his son finish before his passing? Can her fated mates protect her? This story has intrigued, love, forgiveness, and a possibility of change. The ending will shock you!
Tainted Hearts by Jenn D. Young is a mesmerizing dive into a richly built omegaverse world—dark, witchy, and full of raw emotion. Sierra is a heroine carved from resilience and vulnerability; you can’t help but feel every surge of hope, fear, and strength she harnesses. Her journey is heartbreaking and inspiring in equal measure. The dynamics between Sierra and her three fated mates—Rowen, Archer, and Callum—are magnetic. Each brings something distinct: • Rowen is her anchor—solid and fiercely protective, drawing out Sierra’s courage. • Archer is a storm—passionate, impulsive, and willing to tear down every wall she builds. • Callum is quietly intense, mysterious, and thoughtful—his calm presence is a perfect contrast to the others. Jenn D. Young skillfully balances the tension between them, creating a complex emotional landscape where love, loyalty, desire, and destiny collide. The power dynamics and magical elements only deepen the stakes, making the story feel epic yet personal. You feel Sierra’s pain, exhilaration, and eventual triumph as she navigates this entwined fate
For me this was a perfect story. I really do have a weakness for Omegaverse. Now largely they seem to be contemporary so the fact that this was paranormal put a smile on my face. Throw in the fated mates trope and it ticks all my boxes!
Sierra is an Omega with magical powers. Approaching her 29th Birthday she is about to be hit with a primal heat which her Gran who has now passed had warned of and she will need her fated mates to survive this heat. This is when Rowen and Archer from her past and Callum, Rowens estranged brother enter her life. Luckily all 3 are her fated mates as she is going to need them. Also along with her heat Sierra is about to come into her full power and she will need that plus her mates to banish the fearsome Shadow Beast who is a threat not just tiothem, but to all the realms.
What a story! And it isn't over yet! This book delivers love, tonnes of heat, hot mates and a heroine that is determined to protect her mates as fiercely as they protect her. Keeping an eye out for the final part of this duet as that cliffhanger has left me salivating for more!
An ancient evil, a primal heat, four souls intertwined, secrets and sacrifice. I enjoyed this, particularly loved Archer, the bonds between the characters were great, I did kinda feel like I’d missed a book because it felt like some of the characters had past interactions that just weren’t mentioned, I’m looking at Callum and Sierra. I also felt that some things weren’t addressed, Callum wasn’t supposed to leave his realm, so soon after taking power, but spends months in the underworld. The brothers’ history was addressed really well; it was enough without being over the top. The spice was hot, with some less detailed mm, focusing more on what was felt than the act itself, but it was a little vanilla for my tastes, with no ‘group’ work, though plenty with everyone present. The ending was incredibly sad, a sacrifice needing to be made in order to create the weapon needed. I’m interested to see where this goes and hopefully to find a happy ending.
Tainted Hearts is a supernatural RH omegaverse. This is the first book in this duet that stars of a very strong omega witch that is being hunted by a shadow beast that lives in the in-between. A creature that existed before the first light was created.
Sierra can't believe it when she calls out her ex's name for help when she is taken. Imagine her surprise when her capture turns out to be the ex's half brother. And the surprises keep coming when the ex and his best friend show up and she learns that they are her mates...along with the half brother.
This is a story where old wounds and hurt feelings will have to be put aside because an ancient threat is coming for Sierra and it wants to use her power and body to unleash destruction on everything.
Danger, found family, secrets, and so much heat fill the pages of this book. There is a surprise at the end and a cliffhanger so be prepared. Looking forward to the next book.
Sierra is a rare mix of Omega and powerful witch, hiding out in Sedona and using the energy vortexes to keep a low profile. But when she’s abducted, everything she’s tried to run from comes crashing back—including Rowen, the demon who once shattered her heart.
Now forced back into the orbit of not just Rowen but also Archer and his estranged brother Callum, Sierra finds herself at the center of something darker than she ever imagined. A shadow beast is on the hunt, and it wants her. As old wounds reopen and bonds are tested, Sierra has to figure out who she can trust before it’s too late.
The book blends steamy moments with emotional tension, layered character dynamics, and supernatural suspense. The Omegaverse elements are given a fresh twist with Sierra’s witch abilities, and the plot doesn’t hold back on the action or the heartbreak. A gripping start to the duet—can’t wait to see where the story goes next.
This book gave me all the things I look for—found family, forced proximity, protective men with soft hearts, and a heroine who finally gets the safety she’s always deserved.
Wren escapes an abusive marriage and ends up surrounded by four men who are equal parts dangerous and deeply loyal. There’s Knox, the guarded leader. Luka, the quiet protector. Ryder, the hothead with a soft spot. And River, who was probably my favorite with his calm, steady energy. Each of them brings something different into Wren’s life, and none of it feels rushed.
The mafia subplot adds danger without overwhelming the emotional core. This story is really about healing, trust, and learning how to let love in when everything in you says to run. Wren’s growth felt real, and I was cheering her on the entire time.
This was a different spin on an omegaverse story and it really brought out the mystery, adventure, emotions, action and steam. Sierra is an omega witch that has to contend with an ex that left her broken, only to show up again saying she's his mate...as well as two others. Yeah...right. Add in her oncoming heat and a shadowy creature looking to use her powers, well, you definitely have a page turner on your hands. I like that the males each brought something to the relationship that she needed. However, the spicy times weren't really team efforts so I'm hopeful that develops more in future installments. I'm also hoping for a prequel to give us more depth on her past. That doesn't change that this is an engaging read, though. I couldn't put it down and am definitely anxious waiting for the next book to see how things continue to unfold for her. Good fun!
This is is a fantastic story. Sierra is an omega witch, trying to live under the radar, when her past comes flooding back. Soddenly she has three Alpha mates and a prophecy to fulfil.
The characters are wonderful, and work well together. Sierra grows so much as a character throughout the story as she learns more about who and what she is. The rebuilding of the relationship between Callum and Rowen is well told, as are the reasons they grew apart as children. Archer is one of a kind! All three of them fit so well with Sierra making a powerful bond.
The heat in this is off the charts, and it's definitely on my do not read at work list! The plot is solid and all the pieces tie together well.
This is the first in a duet, so it ends on a cliffhanger, and I can't wait for the next book to see how everything resolves.
I thoroughly enjoyed Tainted Hearts! From beginning to end, it kept me completely engaged with its well-developed plot and complex, layered characters. I initially thought this was going to be a standalone, but I’m thrilled to hear there’s going to be more—especially with how the story is setting up for an even bigger showdown against the forces threatening their world.
What really stood out to me was the emotional depth. There’s a particular moment near the end involving a character doing something unexpected for Archer—it completely caught me off guard and gave me all the feels. It was such a sweet, innocent gesture, and the way it was written made it feel so genuine and powerful.
If you’re into stories that balance action, heart, and character development, I highly recommend this one. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the continuation!
This was my first story where Sierra the fmc is an omega as well as a witch who was also coming into her powers that would make her more powerful than she was now. Plus she has 3 mates that she didn't know she had. Rowen who's a demon lord and her ex who had left her 5 years ago along with his 2nd in command Archer who is part demon and something else he happens to be very handsy with blades and has the capabilities of finding someone. Then you have Callum who is a dark fae and happens to be Rowen's half brother and who kidnapps Sierra who just so happens to being going into heat and this isn't any kind of heat as her and her 3 fated mates come together as something very bad is on the horizon. Needless to say this is why I was hooked all of this fast paced action I am here for it all. I cannot wait for the next book.
Loved the story, its action packed, steamy and the MMCs are head over heels for the FMC. This one ends on a bit of a cliffhanger too! I am excited to see what happens next. Sierra is an omega witch, a rarity that everyone will be after, including a shadowy figure determined to use the power she has. All 4 mates must use their own gifts to fight this ancient creature, and first they have to get through Sierra's heat and finding the necessary tool to fight the creature. As a reader, I definitely did feel in the beginning that I was missing some of the backstory. There was this huge betrayal, but it wasn't discussed a lot, and I feel like there needed to be more grovel by the betrayer. It feels like an unresolved issue for me.
3.5 stars. The story has a unique group of main characters. The author does a great job of bringing each of them into the story and bringing them to life. We get plenty of the demon species but also some that may surprise you. Our main female lead is mostly human. Sierra is the type of female that will survive almost anything because she never gives up. And trouble and danger do seem to follow her. The story also brings three males to the group. Each is unique in both species and powers. This is an omegaverse where the omega, Sierra, will have more than one mate. The heat level gets very hot and there is a large portion of the story that involves the bedroom. This is mainly a m/f/m but there is some m/m as well. It does end in a slight cliffhanger.
First off, this cover is AMAZING and I need it for my bookshelf. Second, this book has a few of my favorite book tropes all mixed up, so I was already excited. I mean, how can I not fall in love with a book that has: -Dark romance -Omegaverse -Fated Mates -RH -OTT/Possessive MMC -Sword-crossing and sooooo much more!
OOOF! So not only do I get Witches, Fae, Demons, and deadly assassins, but I also get alpha/omega groupings! Yaas please! I spent the whole day binge-reading this 400+ page book, and I do not regret it. The drama, the tension, the spice, and the action made my day of ignoring adulting so worth it. Be aware of the emotional rollercoaster you're about to go on......This author has her hooks in me with this series and I can't wait for the next book!
This was definitely a book that is set up to leave in that dang cliffhanger. And man do I want to know what happens next…like now lol
This follows Sierra & the adventure she lands herself on when her past shows up at her doorstep many years after leaving her bloody & heartbroken.
We see her struggle with the fact that a man she hated for so many years is back & claiming she’s his mate. She had to process all of that on top of the fact that she has two more mates as well.
Then she has to deal with her primal heat coming & this Shadow Beast that is threatening the world.
It’s definitely very smexy & thrilling. But it also has the depth of each character fighting their own ‘demons’, so to speak, and having to share Sierra.
It definitely pulled me in & had me intrigued, especially with the Omega factor as well. Sierra is turning out to be quite the character that I am very interesting seeing progress.
Definitely worth the read & very much excited for the next book!
A different spin on the Omegaverse genre I thought. Sierra (FMC) is not only an Omega but she's also a witch that can talk to dead people too. Making her both rare and unique. Her backstory is not a happy one but it includes her being dumped and left brokenhearted by Demon - Rowen. Only for years later he's back in her life with Archer and his estranged brother - Callum. Putting them all in the middle of a darkness brought on by a shadow beast that's looking to use Sierra to get what it wants. Some great plot twists, sad parts and steamy scenarios all leading to a cliff-hangerish ending. A great start to this duet and I really enjoyed reading it.
Sierra is an Omega Witch, making her a rare individual indeed. She'll be sought by other monsters and creatures alike for her breeding capabilities. She was left previously by her fated mates, but she wasn't made privy to why, until they crash back into her life. Rown, Archer and Callum are all steamy and absolutely adore Sierra. I love the touch her and die vibes they radiate.
There lives and that of everyone in the realms is threatened by the Shadow Beast, a monster they fear can't be defeated.
The spice between the 4 of them is 🔥🔥, and I look forward to reading more. Just, mind that cliffy!!
'Tainted Hearts', Jenn D Young is the first book in the 'Dark Witchy Omegaverse' Duet, and it was amazing! You have an Omega Witch who has faced betrayal, and now has the male who caused the pain, coming back to announce that she is his mate!!! Oh and the mate of 2 others as well!! Not that this is a problem, there are some things to work through, but each does bring something unique to their mating. Of course, it's not all mating and rainbows! We have a sinister element to this story looking to use our Omega's newly awakened pawers... Definitely a must read, and I can't wait to see what happens next!
Tainted hearts in the first in a darker omergaverse duet and I am here for it! This book pulls you in immediately ! this is a ploy relationship, not a RH so just be aware of that! That being said, this book does have a darker vibe for an omergaverse read, but I quite enjoyed it ! The characters are well fleshed out,its spicy and intriguing, the storyline is solid and the world building is really well done. Sierra was a character that I connected with quickly and became very invested in her journey with some very morally grey men! Overall, an engrossing read that was well written , well paced and really enjoyable! I am looking forward to the next instalment!
Brooding alpha, Omega Witch, this was a new take on an Omega paranormal romance and I loved it.
Tainted Hearts is a dark seductive blend of magic, emotion, and second chances.
At its core, this is a story about reclaiming your worth. It explores forgiveness, trust, and the raw vulnerability of opening your heart again after it’s been shattered.
Sierra is fierce, guarded, and emotionally scarred—but not broken. She’s determined not to let anyone, especially Rowen, back into her heart without earning it.
Rowen rejected her years ago, believing the lies about her being tainted. Now he returns, full of regret, determined to win her back and protect her from the growing darkness.
I so do enjoy a good, twisted read. I have been enjoyed good Omegaverse romances and add in that this one has some twists and turns, I was hooked.
Sierra caught my interest. Not only is she a great character but she is a witch with an unique magic. Also something that caught my interest was that her men have been waiting for her. I loved this. They are strong, oh so protective of her. I was so hooked on their relationship and how their bonds develop.
I am in love with this book and characters. The plot is full of twists and paranormal elements. Just an great book that leaves me wanting more.
