Vigo loves Rowena. It's a pure love. A real love. A love that knows no boundaries. Well, except the fact that she has no idea he exists.
But that's a minor blip to Vigo. All he needs to do is stop his insane father Jotun, and his inbred sibling-cousins Swiss Cheese, Piggy and Sweetheart from getting their hands on her first and everything will surely work out fine.
After all, the path of true lust never did run smoothly...
From Kelvin V.A Allison, author of the splatterpunk hit Gomorrah series
OMG! This sure was one grotesque, disgusting and fucked up book... it's exactly what it says on the cover.
Vigo and his freaky incestual family were rotten to the core.
One sentence will remain with me forever...when Vigo was having sex with his elderly mother he described her vagina as looking like "A magician's sleeve filled with raw liver" Oh God that was enough to make me gag!🤢🤮
This book won't be for everyone...so take caution before opening up the pages of this vulgar story.
4 ⭐🌟⭐🌟's. I had to drop a star because I wanted so much more from Vigo, Piggy, Swiss Cheese and Sweetheart, it finished far to quickly and the ending could have added a lot more to the book.
OK, this was indeed f**** up. The warning on the cover is no gimmick. Honestly. It's extreme, very extreme (extreme squared, so to speak) family horror, the kind that leaves scars, but will make extreme horror veterans have a great laugh as well. That's because it's meant to feel like an extreme horror spoof of the Addams family (the similarity is even mentioned in the story twice). It's dark comedy, or, to stress the point again, extreme horror comedy. Kelvin makes no concessions to delicate sensitivities, almost pressing the point again and again that this is one messed up family, toxic, dysfunctional, disgusting; some gag-inducing situation is portrayed on every page.
So why read this? Well, the answer is pretty simple: if your stomach can handle vividly described scenes of domestic abuse, detailed images of perverted interfamily relationships led by a repulsive patriarch, where everything's meant to be taken absolutely literally, where the twists are so dark you'll need to put the book down begging for some breathing space, where the humor's so dry your skin will grow itchy, then you will be entertained, nay, thrilled and dazzled by Kelvin's audacity and sick imagination.
I myself would ask for an encore! That ending sure seems to imply we'll see Vigo again. Kudos, dear Kelvin - you've done it again!
this sickening story starts off as disgusting as it could. gross textures and morbid smells...
this story is about a man named Vigo who is extremely in love with a girl named Rowena. though she doesn't know he even exists. Vigo comes from a deeply incestual family and shit hits the fan at home immediately starting a domino effect that leads to filth and depravity.
having read the Gomorrah series, I know how filthy Kelvin could be....but Kelvin...this is gross and I love it. 😂
This might just be this author's vilest book yet. It's short, just 70 pages, but it hasn't let up from the first page to the last. It's just full of incest, bodily fluids, secretions, and all matter of nutty crusty goodness. I highly appreciate the trans representation, and I don't wanna give spoilers but it's just so darn good how the trans character got her redemption arc.
This story is vile. It’s dark, disturbing, and may be one of the best stories I’ve read so far this year! As always, thank you Kelvin for the ARC! I am so happy to be an early reader, you haven’t disappointed me yet! 🫀🫀🫀🫀🫀
Erm…….. Errr……….Erm…………🤮🤮🤮🤮 This one’s disturbing and disgusting! It’s a real quick read and I loved it! 😂😂😂 Vigo and his family put The Hills Have Eyes to shame!
The first time I've looked at the cover of this book should've been enough to warn me to stay the f*ck away. I didn't; instead I've requested the author to ARC read this. And now I'm pondering my life choices. Because wtf is this? And why did I enjoy it so much?
I don't think I've ever dry-heaved so much in my entire life, and it was just after about 10 pages in. I felt like my stomach acid could power a dozen batteries. I sent a message to the author and half-jokingly told him that this book will be helpful for my weight-loss journey. You don't believe me? Read this first thing in the morning while you're drinking your coffee and let me know how far you have projectile-vomited, creating your own home-made Pollock masterpiece!
I won't even dare to try to spoil the plot of this book. I've suffered, and you should, too. It will be fully birthed into the world on June 1st. I highly recommend it for gifting to your family and closest friends!
Vigo is a gross individual but he has his reasons for why when his family are all related in some way. He loves Rowena but she doesn’t even know he exists. How can he get her attention? Or will the family get to her first?
WTF? Gomorrah is pretty nasty. But this? After the first chapter it gets mildly less stomach turning and more story based. But that first chapter is 🤮 Piggy, Sweetheart and Swiss all have their own issues but they are just as fked up as Vigo. Especially the cheeky twist with Sweetheart. Not me thinking sweetheart and Vigo made a deal so would be safe from their dads wrath 🥴
Everything in this is incredible. The twists and turns from all angles, the imagery that’s now seared in my brain, the characters I have lodged in there too. Adding this to the most gross books I’ve read. As always I’m happy to hear there is a sequel as the ending made me want more immediately. Can’t wait for next one!
Kelvin does it again. He writes an entertaining story while making me question if I'm sane. This is extreme horror, which seems to be his forte. However, this story focuses on the real-life issue of interfamily relationships or incest. Kelvin doesn't hold back with the gruesome sights, those that will make you gag I'll add.
There is plenty of dark humor within these sick words. This story borders on making me question what is wrong with me reading this. It also borders on realism, this is a real thing that happens.
I thought Gomorrah was extreme, but this takes the cake. In a dark and twisted way, I enjoyed it. All this as a man named Vigo falls in love with a girl who doesn't even know he exists. Oh man, this is horrible but in a funny and crazy way. Now excuse me while I take a shower...
Kelvin V A Allison - author I hated this book… it was vile every character apart from one made me hate them… I never want to try s’mores any more and I need someone to scrub my mind and body down with iron wool!!
I write some depraved shit, but this… this had me going to sleep dreaming about bedroom scenes and in a way I abso-fucking-lutly am not into…
However what I’m also saying between my moans of protest is please take it and please enjoy it… much like many of the scenes in this book.
And also in the words of a few characters, just take it, you will fucking love it!!!
Check your triggers… feeling brave? Bet you’re not enough for this one… but do me a favour and read it so we can cry together?
Ever imagine what "The Adams family directed by Rob F*ing Zombie" would be like? Well here we have it! This incestuous rampage is the most fun I've had reading a book since the Gomorrah series! Vigo is a vile and filthy man who is obsessed with a beautiful woman, shame he lives in the most twisted and disturbed household ever imagined. The grossly detailed descriptions and totally messed up characters mixed with the hilarious one liners made this a really enjoyable yet disturbing read and I flew through it. Lots of trigger warnings so don't go in expecting 'Cara Mia' !!! And what's this an almost happy ending, you ok there Kelvin?🤣🤣🤣
So, this was my introduction to Kelvin's work, and boy, what a way to get acquainted. I only read this in two sessions because I had to get some sleep. This is a vile, depraved short story, and I'm here for it.
The first page reels you in, making your stomach churn, but if you're like me, that's exactly why you keep turning the pages. I LOVED these characters, their nicknames? Perfect. How they were described from Vigo's POV, yes. That twist, followed by another twist? Oof, poor Rowena, I was low-key rooting for her.
I read there's going to be a sequel, and I wish I had it yesterday. Can't wait to dive into more books written by Kelvin.
⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ THIS BOOK WILL MAKE YOU LACTOSE INTOLERANT!!
But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Rowena is the sun...the ending of this reminded me that romance exists.
well, well, well...this, almost left me speechless. Characters you hate, then decide you actually don't hate as much as you thought, as there are others that are far more vile.
Vigo is a sh*stain on society, who we are instantly repulsed by. Then we are introduced to the remainder of his crazy, cruddy clan and we realise he might be the best of a bad bunch.
If you like extreme with an extra layer of gross, you’ve found the book you are looking for! I had to pause at page 5 as I was physically retching and having to breathe through my nose.
But I bravely soldiered on, with each page revealing more depravity like I was rubber necking a crash at the side of the motorway.
If you don’t have triggers, you will still find them in here.
You absolutely should judge this book by its cover. You have been warned….
Oh my!! This was one very F’d up hillbilly, sick, twisted family but my god what a ride!
I ARC read this & really didn’t know what I was getting myself into with that cover but I absolutely ate it up!
Super fast paced, super gross, incest in the craziest way possible 👀 but it was so funny in parts. I chuckled a few times! It’s defo not one for the faint hearted or weak stomached 🤣 I loved it 🫣
CHECK THE TRIGGERS! It’s a rough ride!
This is released on the 1st June & il 100% grabbing myself a physical copy! 4🌟
Genuinely fucked up! I'm only 9% in and already at a solid 45% disgust level! and in every two sentences, I have to stop, sit back, and question my life choices. Why am I doing this to myself?
13% in and it just gets even more disgusting. There are things in things where they shouldn't be, AT ALL! And yet... it’s perfection. The killings, family drama (lol), and their own definition of love ❤️🤮 This book singlehandedly dragged me out of my splatterpunk slump and slapped me awake. Oh! and want s'mores but there’s no fire around? Oops, someone has a life hack for that! 😉
Kelvin Allison's book, Vigo, is a tale of utter grotesque filth and pure shock!
The story is pretty straightforward, Vigo has an unrequited love for Rowena, and will go to any length to make it happen. However, Vigo also comes from a horrifically dysfunctional clan and many problems soon develop that become grisly and utterly stomach-churning!
If you loved the Gomorrah series, you'll love Vigo...
I had 0 expectations for this book. Tik tok told me it was fucked up and I settled in.
TOO BAD I WAS EATING! By page 4 I had to stop and finish my meal before I continued
Only took me a few hours… it was weird. I didn’t like it but I didn’t hate it. I have no idea what to think about this. I wish I didn’t pay to read this. Personally I didn’t think it was worth it. Not because it was dark and gross, just because it was so short and cost me 9 bucks.
“It’s like the Addam’s family directed by Rob fucking Zombie”
This was an absolutely wild ride, I never knew family members could be related to each other in so many different ways. It’s equal parts gross and disturbing, with some actually unexpected plot twists.
Stomach churning read. It was disgusting, vile in so many ways and I fucking enjoyed it! Vigo wanted to be loved. He wanted to be loved by Rowena. His family loved him though, in their own twisted ways until a death occurred. Not for the faint hearted. You gotta have a strong stomach for this read and maybe some therapy sessions to recover.
I read this book in one sitting. Totally immersed in the storyline. Karmic (if there is such a word) justice at its finest. Disgusting characters of the worst kind yet this author has such a talent for the macabre that just makes you want to see it through to the end after he hooks you in from page one.
In my opinion, this is his most extreme story to date. We very page is filled with heinous acts, and some are beyond gag inducing. You're glued to the page from first to last like staring at a car crash waiting to see what vileness will assault your eyes next.
Meet Vigo, a vile, repulsive example of a filthy man. Now, meet his inbred family - Father Jotun, siblings Swiss Cheese, Sweetheart and Piggy. They make Vigo look like a saint. Throw in a little love story, some victims and voila! - you have a delicious recipe for Kelvin V. A. Allison's newest book that just might give you a milk aversion. Do you like the Gomorrah series - well then you will love to abhor this family! A solid five out of five, and a must read! I am always so appreciative of Kelvin for giving me this ARC.
