The rule was simple—don't fall in love with a student. Drake had never had that problem—not until he met the buxom brunette in the bar. Grace was one of a kind, virginal but far from chaste. When she wanted him to teach more than history, he was left with a choice that could ruin them both.
Grace was always the good girl, until she met her wild best friend, Christina, who pushed her out of her shell. She fell head over heels for the sexy, young college professor, but when everything shattered around her, she was left with figuring out who she really was. Her journey led her somewhere she never imagined, but along the way she learned that even the wildest roses have to put down roots in a place called home.
Scarlett Jade is just a small town girl with big dreams who loves to write. She has always been found from a young age with her brow furrowed, scribbling words on paper or her nose in a book. Now that she is grown, life isn't much different, she still scribbles words, but mostly on the computer, and her nose is permanently glued to e-books! She is married to the man of her dreams, her real life knight in shining armor and Prince Charming and has one son who is the apple of her eye. You can typically find her playing in the dirt with her son, toying with her indoor vegetable garden, or snuggled on the couch with her dog Peanut Butter and cat Jelly, reading a good book. She loves chocolate, thinks coffee should be a religion, and loves to make people laugh with her quirky sense of humor. She is bold, brazen, and even been told she's ballsy, but she doesn't mind, she takes it in stride. She has a huge passion for all things paranormal and spicy love stories that leave you turning the pages and dying to slide between the sheets of the next book!

This is the first book in the Wild Rose series. They will need to be read in order.
Grace is not a typical preacher’s daughter. She is not a wild-child trying to prove herself… or she wasn’t, as long as she was in high school. Now in college, she is ready to find herself. With the help of her roommate, Christina, Grace begins to test her wings. She learns to accept her BBW curves, accentuate them, and feel more confident. She first meets Drake in a bar, and a couple of days later finds out that he is her history professor. They try to deny their attraction to prevent the scandal that would be sure to follow, but some flames burn too brightly to be ignored.
OK, I’m going to tip-toe here, because I absolutely do not want to spoil this for anyone. I loved this story. So much that I forgot to pay attention to the time passing on the treadmill and kept on walking. So much that I didn’t want to sleep. So much that when sleep claimed me, I picked it back up immediately upon waking. Grace is every girl… or maybe I just recognize me as a girl. She is beautiful and bright. She is unsure, but curious. Add in the impetuousness of youth and she is a volatile little firecracker ready to burst into her own womanhood.
There is not a cliff-hanger, but you will be screaming for the next book when you finish. I’ve already given her my two-cents worth, privately because I refuse to spoil the surprise for you, dear reader. Bottom line: YES, you want to read this book! My suggestion is buy it first thing in the morning, hang the Do Not Disturb sign, and order pizza for dinner.
This book was gifted to me by the publisher (thank you) for an honest review.
Saving Grace by Scarlett Jade is a beautiful story about coming-of-age for a young lady. A story about how precious and beautiful life can be. The character development was well written. The reader felt the pain and anguish that each of the main characters felt. Ms. Jade made you want to help, be there for them, she made me care for them and cry for them.
Grace is not so different from any girl heading off to college for the first time. At least, no different than any teenage girl who has never really lived. You know where your nervous and excited at the same time. A teenage girl who is expected to act and do and live exactly like her parents think she should. Once arriving at college and meeting her new roommate Christina, Grace decides it is time for her to make some changes in her life. A new haircut, and some new clothes work some amazing magic. Christina teaches Grace that it is ok to be different; after all, Christina is her own free spirit! (I've always told this to my children, and I think all parents should) A person does not have to fit into a little box to be likeable or considered beautiful. Why does society or the media get to dictate what is considered beautiful?
Grace goes with Christina to a bar the weekend before classes start and Grace meets a man. Things spiral quickly out of control. Is Grace really an adult? Is Grace really capable of handling herself in the situation she finds herself in? Grace finds that she has to spread her wings to find herself; not what everyone else wants her to be.
It is Drake that Grace meets that first night at the bar. Drake? thinks he is a very good looking guy!! Poor Grace, how was she to know that Drake was in fact her college professor? Talk about trouble! Can we say FORBIDDEN ROMANCE!!! Wanting something you can't have. The journey for Drake and Grace is dangerous for them; as they both quickly learn. When Grace looks to her mom for support, she learns some secrets that she never would have imagined.
Argh....cliff hanger....to be continued....? (I need book 2 please!) In the end, a happily-ever-after could still be possible.
I give Saving Grace 4 Platypires or 4 beautiful stars, however you like to count thing!
Grace has been accepted to Yale University on a full-ride scholarship and is so excited to get away from her small town and her parents!
Her first day there she meets her roommate, Christine, who was the opposite in every way from Grace. Christine takes Grace to a bar to me guys and have a drink. While Christine is getting drinks Drake joins Grace at their table. He is very handsome and Graham e falls instantly in love Drake. When Christine returns, she sends Drake away and they leave.
The next day Grace's classes start and she walks into her first class and is shocked at what she finds in her class!
This was a great book and there were lots indifferent emotions that the author put Grace and me, the reader through in such a short time. I felt sorry for Grace as one person after another let's her down and takes her self respect to an all-time low.
Ms Jade, I don't even know where to begin with my Love for you and your book's. You've gifted me 2 book's, and I've bought the rest, cos, really, you can't have one without the other right.. anyway.. so, my thoughts on Saving Grace.. I'm just gonna be simple, cos it's the only way to go.. I LOVED IT. the storyline, the flow, the characters, the emotions, the love, everything. No words can say what I really need to say, except AWESOME. You ROCK, as always.
Absolutely brilliant getting to meet and start to know these two young adults Jade and Christina where they meet and room share at Yale. They are really like chalk and cheese. There's laughter, wondering, hope and what's going to happen after we see that things didn't work out between Grace and Jake even though I kept shouting at Christina in NOT telling Grace about what Jake had said.....so now to the next instalment
This is the first book in the Wild Rose trilogy. You definitely have to read these books in order, with that being said.. Oh My Goodness.. this was a great start to an amazing trilogy. Grace and Christina are roommates at Yale both from very different backgrounds, both great, well written characters that felt like friends by the last page. I enjoyed this story and immediately bought book 2 because I had to know what happened next. This trilogy is a must read!
So I am getting really hooked on to Scarlett's writing, I love her style and her passion she puts into her word. I now need book 2 as I need to find out more. Grace has grown up in a protective world but also has been lied to. She goes of to college and there she meets Christina who is her roommate and the exact opposite of Grace. She also falls for the one guy she should not fall for.
'Saving Grace' (Wild Rose Book 1) by Scarlett Jade is a fantastic read! Wow! Great start to this new series. I absolutely loved this storry! I loved reading about Grace, Drake, and Christina. I can not wait to see what happens next in 'Finding Christina' (Wild Rose Book 2). Highly recommend this book to anyone that loves romance.
Bravo! I loved this book...must be the hot professor but I could not out this book down once I got past the first few slow chapters. But the rest of the book makes up for the slow chapters. Great writing, storyline, and bringing the characters to life. This is a must read if you want an exciting book with wonderful characters and a hot professor. Bravo!!
This book has a nice story line but things move to fast at ties and it then has lost the depth. The charcters are well written. she goes from the good church going preachers daughter to the wild side with in mins of meting her new friend then she fals for a teacher! I found her to be a little immature and naive at times; which drove me mad at times! I will read the next book.
Wow! just WOW! Scarlett Jade has a writing style that pulls the reader in immediately. Saving Grace captures the emotions of a young woman trying to find herself and a young man at war with society's protocols and his own heart.
I really loved this book, so much so I had already bought number 2. The relationship between Christina and Grace was the key to the story. This a great series as long as you have tissues to spare.
