Sloane Monroe Stories - Mystery Novella Series (with characters from the main series)
Turns out this is the second in a series, and I haven't read #1. Oh well, we'll see how I like it first. Also turns out it is a short story, but a good read. Medical examiner Reagan is at her brother's wedding when the bride disappears. Reagan's ex-boyfriend policeman and her friend Evan, the bride's brother, aren't being very helpful with all their posturing. After two deaths, one apparently a total stranger who wasn't even invited to the wedding, Reagan determines to find out what's going on, whether the police want her to or not. Her obnoxious mother is no help either. There is a lot packed into about 80 pages, several twists, and a surprise (to me, at least!) ending.
This is a very easy read with a bit of gothic romance mixed in. I was seriously annoyed by the author's contention that a woman who is 5'10" tall and wears a size 10 dress is chunky...are you kidding me? And at the end of the book the heroine has lost 20 pounds in 30 days for her wedding. This is the sort of nonsense that causes such misery in girls and women.
I hadn’t put 2 & 2 together. I didn’t realize both of the books I had just read were by the same author. I’m a choose a book by its cover kinda girl. One book was a paranormal and one was a crime thriller (this one) but they were both so good I had to go in search of more work by this author. I laughed out loud when I noticed they were by the same author. You too, will want to work your way through all of her work! You better get started! There is a lot to read.
OMG! An entertaining story involving a bride and groom, family, not one dead woman, but two dead women at the wedding reception, one being the new bride! Awesome reading!
Echoes of Murder (Till Death Do Us Part, #2) is a wonderfully entertaining novella with great character development and an unforeseen and surprising conclusion. I highly recommend this book.
This second novella in the Til Death Do Us Part series is a tightly written story in which each paragraph is essentilto either the story or the development of a chracter. Cheryl Bradshaw has taken those skills and written a great novella.
Much like the first one in this series, this story starts out with tge setting of a wedding. There is drama early, there is murder at this wedding (although not who you would believe) and there are many twists and turns that follow. Not just in the murder mystery, but also with how the characters interact. Everything that makes a good murder mystery is present here. This is another wonderfully written story in the series and I am eagerly anticipating the next one.
This is a thrilling novella that can be read in one sitting. The characters are well developed, engaging and quirky. The plot is puzzling with several suspects. There are several surprising twists and turns that lead to an exciting conclusion. The story takes place at a wedding. After the lawn marriage ceremony the bride, spots a woman in a stunning red dress standing by a tree observing the wedding. Who is this woman? The bride goes to change for the honeymoon but disappears. Where is she? Where did she go? The intrigue heightens. Who will find the solution? It’s a quick, enjoyable read Thanks to the author for the eBook. My opinion is my own.
I loved this mystery/suspense story involving the investigation and solution of a double homicide. I just had trouble keeping the family relationships straight.
The first death is that of the bride immediately following the wedding ceremony. While that is being investigated, the body of one of the wedding guests is found in the closet of another guest's hotel room.
I am a big fan of Cheryl Bradshaw and really enjoyed this short story. It is full of twists and turns.. just when I thought I had it figured out, there was another twist to the story. It was definitely one I had to read in one sitting. It revolves around a wedding and family relationships with a few murders thrown into the mix. Get ready to a wild ride.. this one will keep you on your toes.
I love the fact that Cheryl Bradshaw can create a short novella that is packed full of content that is both suspenseful and interesting. Echoes of Murder is another wedding murder where either the bride or groom was murdered. The mystery surrounding the event is well thought out and kept me wondering "whodunit?" Great job!
Story kept my interest. I felt like a lot of time was wasted when the girl went to the guys hotel room to tell him about the missing girl. Somehow they had a conversation about not hooking up before she told him about the missing girl. Also, the ending felt hasty. Not like Cheryl Bradshaws writing. Her plots typically fall into place smoothly. Otherwise it held my interest start to finish.
After reading and really enjoying the first book in this series, I was a little disappointed with this one. I felt like it lacked real character development, not to mention character emotion. Not a bad novella length book, but could of been so much more.
I liked this book a lot. It was much more fun than the first story in the series (and it was longer!). Lots of twists and turns, some I definitely didn't see coming. You will have to suspend your belief a little, but still a good read.
Another exciting story by my favorite author which kept me wanting to read it until it was done. Quite the twist at the end as to who the perpetrator was. Excellent.
An excellent read by a fantastic author. It is a novella but it keeps your interest and surprises you with an ending you can't see coming! I highly recommend
Another great book in this series, I actually guessed wrong on this one. I really hope Cheryl will continue with this series. Looking forward to the next book.
