If you liked the Salacious Player’s Club series, 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙈𝙚 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧, is a book you’ll want to add to your TBR! This book is book 1 in the Trustfall series and is a mixture of billionaire spicy/dark romance and suspense. Serena, the FMC, is overcoming heartbreak from her ex boyfriend cheating on her and putting aside her happiness to fulfill her father’s wish for her before he passed. Anton, the billionaire MMC, is desperate to get his hands on Serena and makes her a proposition she couldn’t refuse. The two of them quickly realize they likely have entered a situation that will quickly be more than they bargained for. When things don’t add up for Anton he looks into Serena’s past and realizes there are secrets that put Serena and her family is severe danger. This book is full of twists, secrets, and delicious spice! The cliff hanger had my jaw on the floor and I’m just sitting here dying for book 2! 😂

Zero trigger warnings

Honestly tired of the whole smex club theme in "romance" books.

There is nothing smexy about grown a$$ men hiding an abusive past by getting heavily involved into BDSM & smex clubs to freaking cope! This is what therapy is for!
Then dragging the supposed love of your life into said life..

And sir when your exclusive lady asks if you ever plan on "sharing her" you don't get to smile & change the subject, no you should've said- emphaticly "no". The h/h don't partake in that way but the suggestion was there & never brought up again, meaning it'll come up later.

If I wanted to read a story like that I'd choose erotica .
Zero TW's listing with a blurb that held zero details of what I was getting into.

Since this one seems to be nearing into exhibitionism kink I highly doubt I'll read book 2.

Take me under è il primo volume della trilogia erotica Abbandono alla fiducia e racconta la storia d’amore tra Serena, un’archeologa che cerca di mantenere la promessa fatta a suo padre e Anton, un miliardario riservato e dal passato oscuro. I volumi vanno letti nel loro ordine di pubblicazione perché la storia si dipana attraverso i vari libri.
La storia è un mix di suspense (forse troppo poco per i miei gusti) ed erotico (le scene sono ben dosate e non sono per niente volgari). Ammetto però che la relazione romantica non è particolarmente originale (almeno in questo primo volume) o coinvolgente (forse perché l’alchimia tra loro è immediata). Lui miliardario che ama determinate pratiche (ha perfino un club privato) e lei che deve scoprire se le possa piacere o meno quello che lui vorrebbe da lei. Ricorda sicuramente altri libri. Per ora sembra tutto molto soft (rispetto ad altri libri che ho letto) infatti, fatico anche a considerarlo un dark romance come invece viene dichiarato.
Le vicende sono raccontate attraverso il doppio punto di vista (in prima persona) dei due protagonisti e quello che rende la storia più originale è sicuramente il risvolto mystery che coinvolge Serena. Serena, infatti, è in pericolo (sembra a causa delle ricerche del padre archeologo) ma per ora si sa davvero molto poco. Sicuramente è la parte di trama che più mi intriga di questa trilogia.
Il livello di sensualità è molto alto e il romanzo si chiude con un bel cliffhanger che ti spinge a leggere subito il successivo, peccato che non sia stato ancora pubblicato (mentre sto scrivendo questa recensione) e chissà quando uscirà il terzo che dovrà chiudere la trilogia.
Probabilmente leggerò il secondo in caso dovessi rifare l’abbonamento a Kindle Unlimited.

Take Me Under follows Serena, who is an archaeologist determined to fulfill her father's wishes but with limited funds to do so. She seeks support and attends a gala in search of donations where she meets Anton. Anton is a very reserved individual, who made his fortune from crypto and built his empire, and is now the owner of a high-end secret sex club. They become infatuated as soon as the lay eyes on each other.

I was very intrigued by the secrets and the dynamic of the storyline. The romantic suspense aspect of the book was fun and definitely kept me on a hook. I'm not 100% sure about their relationship though, because I get that there is a need from both parts but sometimes the conversations seemed forced, but maybe that is expected since their chemistry was instant.

Overall, this was a fast, sexy, suspenseful ride.

This was my first book by Dakota Willink, and it certainly won’t be my last. The cliffhanger at the end left me eagerly counting down the days until "Take Me Darkly" is released. The plot twists are truly remarkable—filled with betrayal, murder, and obsession that kept me on the edge of my seat.

Serena is a passionate archaeologist with a talent for glassblowing, driven by an unwavering commitment to fulfill her father's dying wish. With her funds running low, she realizes she must seek additional support, leading her to a gala designed to secure donations. It’s there that she meets Romano, and the dynamic between them begins to shift. He presents her with a proposition that makes her initially hesitant, but with her best friend’s encouragement, she opens up and seizes the moment.

Serena is a powerful blend of passion, determination, kindness, and strength, though her relentless faith in humanity often blinds her to the impending challenges. Romano has an intriguing storyline that I can't wait to dive deeper into. After making a fortune in crypto, he becomes a billionaire and secretly owns a high-end s*x club known to only a select few. When he sees Serena, he knows he must have her; relationships aren’t his style, but there’s an undeniable pull toward her. When he discovers she needs financial support to keep her dreams alive, he proposes a deal he’s confident she won’t refuse.

Overall, this fast-paced read kept me guessing at every turn, and I truly enjoyed it.

This was my first read from Dakota and color me intrigued. Of late, I have found myself reading mostly interconnected standalones, but Take Me Under is the first of what promises to be a wild ride. Both Serena and Anton are surrounded in mystery, meeting when neither was looking for love. The chemistry between them was instant and then circumstances kept them together even though they couldn’t be more different – the Italian archeologist and the secretive billionaire allergic to relationships. What starts out as a business negotiation quickly becomes more until danger strikes and Anton realizes nothing will stop him from keeping Serena safe.

I don’t often like to compare one author’s works to another, but Take Me Under took me right back to the first days I was reading Fifty Shades of Grey but with a more mysterious and suspenseful turn. I was intrigued by the secrets, the dynamic, the wealth, and knowing these two would fight tooth and nail not to fall in love. Both characters were intelligent, hardworking, and both had something the other needed so their power dynamic was somewhat equal. What hooked me was the mystery Serena didn’t even know she was a part of and what kept me was the push and pull between the characters. Now I’m desperate to find out what happens next after things took an unexpected turn and Serena once again finds herself in Anton’s hands.

I know I say this a lot but this book REALLY surprised me. I was enjoying the hot billionaire romance with indecent proposal vibes and then all of a sudden I get hit with mystery and a cliffhanger that left me wanting more.
Anton is a billionaire playboy who came from nothing and is very private. His only friend is his bodyguard and he has no relationships to speak of. But when he sees Serena at a charity event, he is instantly drawn to her. Serena is a sassy, intelligent woman who is determined to continue her father’s dying wish and fund a major archeological dig in Rome. She has come to New York to try and acquire funding and continue her father’s dream. Once Anton and Serena meet they will start something that neither of them will be able to stop. Sounds like a great romance, right? Well, there’s also an underlying plot of murder, mystery and secrets that will leave you guessing and excited for the next chapter? The dual narration on the audio was good and the story really pulled me in. The tension between Anton and Serena is palpable throughout the entire book and I was enjoying every minute. I definitely recommend Take Me Under if you enjoy contemporary romance with a side of mystery.

Dakota Willink’s books fill a need in my life I didn’t realize I had. This is her second book I’ve read, and both of them have been phenomenal. When it comes to this romance with a hint of mystery, she’s the queen of pacing - the story keeps you reading long into the night without it feeling like you’re on a runaway horse. In this book, the mystery element is very subtle and I loved the character development and slow-burn romance that’s still perfectly spicy to keep you intrigued.
Anton is a self-made crypto billionaire with a tragic backstory who runs an ultra-exclusive adults-only club, so he has lots of secrets he’s keeping. Serena is a down-on-her-luck archaeologist trying to complete the passion project left to her by her later father and Anton is her best chance at funding one last round of excavation. These two are so hot together, with him guiding her to discover she’s not exactly the “good girl” she thought she was.

Wow, Dakota Willink you're an excellent storyteller. A dark billionaire romance with so many twists and heat.

I was captivated by all the details and descriptions throughout the entire book. The spice and plot were both so good.

This story had it all romance, action, suspense, mystery. I enjoyed this amazing story and I just couldn't get enough.

Serena and Anton were sizzling hot together. Their chemistry and dynamics were written so well. I loved the dual POV providing what motivates and drives them.

Serena is a strong intelligent woman. I enjoyed reading her inner monologue.

Anton has worked hard to get where he is in life. He'll stop at nothing to get what he wants.

I loved these characters and the supporting characters were great also. I liked that the characters were both mature adults in their mid-thirties. I can't wait to see how their relationship develops further.

I enjoyed this book so much that I was on the edge of my seat, especially with that cliffhanger. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

If you love a dark billionaire mmc who thrives on control, then Anton is for you! But paired with a woman who stays true to herself and challenges him (while also giving in sometimes), then you’re going to love Serena.

Anton loves historic things and is trying to acquire a rare coin. Coming from his dark past, one that he doesn’t reveal to anyone, he is living the billionaire life he could only dream about when he was a kid. Collecting history rich items is something he does with his new wealth. That is the only thing he collects, Anton lived his life alone. He sees no reason to even attempt to share it with someone, that isn’t something he sees in his cards. He gets bored quickly and only wants interesting things, but no one fits that role.

Serena is trying to find funding to support her dig in Rome. It was her father’s life work and since he died, she has made it hers too. Talking with rich people isn’t something she is used to and feels out of her skin. Without any options and thinking all is lost, she meets Anton.

Anton gives her a deal. Serena be his for a month (in every way) and he will fund her dig.

A deal with the dark billionaire that will let her give into the desire she feels with him? Could Serena do that? She knows nothing about him and feels like she’s making a deal with the devil.

This dark billionaire romance is full of desire, mystery, and betrayal and the perfect read to keep you captivated!

This book does talk about some dark and traumatic experiences, so be mindful if that isn’t for you.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series! I’m excited to read what happens next!

I think I went into this book wrong, because for the first half, I was convinced it was a standalone in a series of interconnected standalones, but as soon as I realized it wasn't, I enjoyed it IMMENSELY more. Mainly because I was like, "We're at 50% and it's day 4 of them knowing each other. How are they gonna resolve everything by the end of this book??" And honestly, I miss true contemporary series; we don't see them a lot anymore.

What I really enjoyed about this book, though, was that we get to see the relationship develop and come into play, and while they're both still hiding things, it didn't bother me as much as usual. Granted, I may just admit I expect it in these kink billionaire romance books. I think the start of book 2 will be incredibly emotional and gripping, and I'm interested to see how this changes Serena, but I will be picking the next book up!

I do have mild annoyance as I hate a cliff hanger. Many loose strings left at the end of this first book in the series.

Anton is a self made billionaire who owns a super private sex club and deals in cryptocurrency. He’s focused on his next win - sourcing a rare ancient coin - while dodging the press who’ve started to hear whispers of the sex club. When he learns that an archeologist who is rumored to have one of these coins will attending the met gala, he throws caution to the wind and scores himself an invite. He never expected the archaeologist to be so intriguing that he basically forgets about the coin.

Serena didn’t want to rub elbows with the social elite. But she promised her father on his death bed to keep his dream alive. Now she’s at the met gala pitching herself to fund her archeological dig sites. When she falls literally into Anton. His dark eyes, commanding presence, and intense sexual energy keep her off balance. Serena has never had a one night stand but Anton may be her weakness.

When Anton stumbles onto the fact that murders are happening in Serena’s wake, he must decide if she’s someone worth saving.

This was such a fun read. When Serena meets Anton at the Met Gala, her life changes dramatically. After falling ill and waking up in his penthouse, he makes her a deal. 30 Days with him in return he will fund her archaeology dig. She wants to say no, she wants to fight the attraction, but he makes it impossible.

Anton isn't one for relationships, but there is something about Serena he can't get over. When he realizes things happening to her might not be an accident, he looks more into her past. He wants to protect her. He wants her to himself.

I can not wait until Take Me Darkly is released. I seriously need to know what happens when they return to NY! I loved Anton. His past was so traumatic. I was glad he opened up to Serena after what happened between them. My heart hurts for Serena dealing with the things she has to go through, and what's to come for her character.

This is my first book by Dakota Willink and I can't wait to get more into this series. The cliffhanger in this one had me on the edge of my seat.

This is a dark, billionaire romance with some mystery. Serena is trying to complete her father's work dreams and she needs investors to fund said work. She meets Anton who is a self made millionaire with a troubled past. They are instantly smitten and come to an agreement so that he can help fund her work.

This book is for you if you enjoy billionaire romances with a twist of sex clubs and entering into the world of BDSM. For me specifically, that wasn't a highlight for me but I can look past that and still enjoy the book, which I did for this one. There were so many secrets floating around that kept me hooked. The chemistry between these two was instant and I have a feeling their relationship will grow to more than they expected. My heart broke for both of them, for Anton's past, and now for Serena's current happenings.

I was gifted the audio of this book which was narrated by Kit Swann and Marcio Catalano. I haven't ever listened to a book by these two and I really enjoyed it. They put all the emotion into the story and really captured me in to the story.

Their connection felt raw and intense, and the high-stakes power play between them was deliciously tense. The mystery around Anton’s past and Serena’s growing danger added layers I didn’t expect. It’s more than just a steamy romance; it’s a suspenseful, emotional rollercoaster. The cliffhanger ending left me desperate for the next book. If you enjoy slow-burning obsession with a dangerous edge, this one is a must-read.

This was such a great listen. And the way he calls her princess!!!

It's fast paced, spicy, full of action, and a woman not only being true to herself but finding love in the most unexpected places.

He didn't do feelings, he did sex... and that was what she was going to give him.

He wanted her for only 30 days, but what happens when he catches those feelings but she's in danger? Danger that would put a target on his back as well?

It ends in a cliffy. Book 2 is out though.

The only thing that would have been more enjoyable for me is if there were more world building, but I am anticipating seeing additional world building through the series.

Bravo to the narrators, a great job per usual.

Thank you so much to @dakotawillink for gifting me this book. I genuinely loved it, it was exactly what I needed. The whole vibe felt luxurious and sexy in the best way.

I really loved getting to know Serena. She’s the kind of character who grows on you with every page. You can feel her pain, her doubt, but also her strength. And Anton was her perfect match. I kept trying to figure him out his past, his secrets, everything he was hiding. The way he was with her was so intense, so protective and that was beautiful.

Their dynamic had me hooked. And the book left me on a brutal cliffhanger that made me desperate for more. I seriously can’t wait for book two.

I love how the female in this book was a strong, smart woman. Most books where the girl falls for the billionaire she always needs him, but Selena? She is very independent.
Serena is a very smart, beautiful woman who is trying to fulfill her dad's dying wish but just needs someone to help her financially do so.
Anton is a successful businessman who is missing a spark in his life. He is very wealthy and his mouth 🥵🥵
The twist and turns in this book had me on my toes and the sexy scenes had my mouth watering.

I am hooked!! I loved this book and cannot wait for the next installment! Both main characters are intriguing, and are somewhat thrown out of their respective comfort zones after meeting. I would describe it as a slow burn to start with, but I was absolutely drawn in and couldn't put it down, needing to find out what was going to happen next. Will secrets be revealed? You'll have to read it to find out.
