✨Chapter 1✨

While scrolling through the Crunchyroll Manga app I can across this manga. Silent mangas are a completely foreign genre to me that I’d never heard of! Joshi Kausei, one of these silent mangas, is a slice of life style comic following a high-school girl and her day to day adventures with no dialogue. Chapter one follows our lead as she goes about her day and involves a traffic cone and ice-cream. This is a whimsical lighthearted short read that had me smiling in seconds. It’s an incredibly adorable and uplifting story that I unexpectedly quite enjoyed. However, I pliers through this chapter way too fast as there is nothing to read!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

✨Chapter 2✨

Chapter two is definitely cute and lighthearted like chapter one although this one is a little more...designed with teenage boys in mind. There is quite a bit of underwear shots and although the situation is very relatable it could have done will a little less butt. All in all it was a nice quick read that left me smiling afterward and made my day just a little brighter.

✨Chapter 3✨

I just can’t get over just how adorable this little comic is. Again, Joshi Kausei is a completely silent manga with no text apart from noises or the ovarian text message so reading these chapters takes almost no time to get through. But because of not having any text, the art is incredibly expressive and does a wonderful job of depicting the characters feelings. Chapter three sees out lead trying to self-administer eyedrops, a struggle for a lot of people (me included). In her attempts to keep her eyes open she comes across a quite funny way of getting around it with a humorous little side affect. Like the chapters before it, this read left me smiling and happy even though not a lot happens to it and the story is very mundane. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

✨Chapter 4✨

Right...this chapter is just a little odd. The lead seems to have just a little bit of a weird problem in that she feels the need to fill in holes, whether it be on her desk at school or some random bricks on the street. This is definitely one to miss for everyone with trypophobia! Again, this chapter is definitely aimed for that horny teenage audience with a few underwear panels just to keep their attention up. This is quite a common trope in manga however, in this short chapter is just seems a little weird.

✨Chapter 5✨

Like chapter four, this is just a very bizarre chapter that is also a little bit pervy. But I didn’t expect such a through-back! The lead in this chapter is playing Minefield (do people still get this on their computer?? I haven’t even heard of it in years!). Her addiction to this game is so strong that one her commute on the train she falls asleep and dreams of playing it. Unfortunately she uses the random man next to her as a mouse (I did say it was bizarre). I didn’t enjoy this chapter as much as some of the previous ones and the main thought I had after reading this was: how do you get addicted to Minefield? I don’t think anyone has ever experienced that!
⭐️⭐️/5

✨Chapter 6✨

What is with all these up-skirt shots??? How have so many of them been squeezed into such a short chapter? Besides this, I did identify a little with the lead in this short as I too am a bit of a clutz but the situation was a little weird. Chapter six is very slapstick which isn’t really my brand of comedy so I did find it all too funny but as always the characters were very cute.
⭐️⭐️/5

✨Chapter 7✨

Ah the ol’ drop something on someone’s head as they walk through the door prank. I think everyone has tried this one at least once as a kid and most likely failed in some way (I know I did)! This is quite a whimsical and light story but it lacked the same joy I’ve got from some of the previous chapters. Although this had all the same ingredients of making a cute short, it just didn’t quite work for me. However, it does get point from me for not showing drawings of up-skirt shots of minors.
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

✨Chapter 8✨

First off, this has to be my favourite cover so far! It’s just so adorable and lively! I can almost hear them! Just as the cover suggests this is such a fun little manga! The story is full of origami and childish wonder that I loved about some of the previous chapters. This instalment does a great job of portraying the imagination and creativity of the characters and it’s such a sweet and happy read!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

✨Chapter 9✨

To be honest, this chapter was a little boring. It is a cute little chapter about the blossoming friendship two of the main characters and how they bonded over shadow puppets. It is quite adorable but it just didn’t quite have the same appeal as done of the other chapters. The art is beautiful and expressive to the point where text doesn’t seem necessary. I would recommend reading this manga if you have a Crunchyroll subscription like me, as it’s an interesting concept, but I wouldn’t recommend actually buying it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

✨Chapter 10✨

I have to say, I am actually getting a little bored of this manga. I’ve almost finished the first volume now and, although to start with I was enjoying reading, it definitely gets old very quickly. This may be because there isn’t a real story. Chapter ten depicts three of the characters relaxing and playing together around a Kotatsu (which I have to say I want to use at some point!). It’s cute, it’s lighthearted, and it barely has a story.

So I was looking around for a new funny manga, and I think I found it!

This manga is brilliantly funny. It might be a tiny bit boring at times, because this manga focusses mostly the images. There is absolutely no dialogue or much of a story. The only things you see pop up are sound effects or texts on paper. Otherwise nothing.

Still this is one perfect Slice of Life + Comedy manga. There are enough puns, and even without much story and dialogue, you can always figure out what is happening in the manga. Just by looking at the interactions and at expressions. It is great fun. In the first one our main girl grabs a traffic cone (red/white striped), because it is said that it will be her lucky item that day. What follows is a hilarious adventure to a park and in the end.. well you will just have to find out.

I really like our main character, she doesn't always seem like the smartest girl, but she is very funny and she seems to have a lot of fun in the world. Making friends, going out, even being in school is something she makes a fun activity.
She has 2 other friends. One is more serious, while her other friend is more childish and often afraid of things. I really like them and I hope they will stay around for a long time.

The art is gorgeous (which is kind of to be expected, considering the story/puns lean so heavy on imagery to deliver the message). The characters look great and I haven't seen anything yet that looks bad. :)

There is very little fanservice. Mostly what you will see are underwear shots.

All in all, I would highly recommend this manga to everyone in need for a calm, but funny slice of life.
