Shae Green

Shae Green writes contemporary romance that sizzles with sharp wit, heart-tugging emotion, and the perfect dash of spice. Her stories blend humor, vulnerability, and chemistry that lingers long after the final page, offering readers a place to laugh, swoon, and feel deeply seen. With a flair for crafting unforgettable banter and characters who love hard and grow harder, Shae brings a fresh, relatable voice to modern love stories.

When she’s not plotting character arcs or unspooling her next slow-burn romance, Shae is likely curled up with her loyal, four-legged sidekick and a cup of something warm. Her self-care routine includes marathon sessions of anime, a healthy obsession with overly dramatic reality TV (purely for research purposes, of course), and getting lost in stories—whether she's writing them or devouring them.

This man’s delusion is ruthless, burning the edges of her sanity like the beginnings of a brush fire. But this is why she goes to therapy. She doesn’t have to be afraid of the fire, but she doesn’t have to watch as it spreads.
We pick up right where Between Us ended, so once you’ve stopped gasping at book 2's cliffhanger, you’re able to dive right into the drama. *insert ominous, suspense music here* However, in true Shae Green fashion, this isn’t just a “we’re gonna work to solve one problem & then go off into the sunset” kind of tale. Nah. Real life doesn’t stop just because your past or trauma resurfaces. Through Shae’s hyper-realistic writing, we’re given the continuation of our couple’s romance now they’ve assumed the new roles of “mom & dad,” all of the post-partum glory (& readjustment), some drama... & more drama that I won’t spoil here, as well as the sense of humor we love (even Antonio starts cracking Alex-approved jokes).
"... I used to believe that creating life was the only way I could be a true mother. But in some way, I also believe it was because of this flawed ideology that I came to truly appreciate the journey of parenthood... unconditional love and support to allow your child the freedom to figure out what it means to be the best version of themselves… That is parenthood. That means it’s a journey that doesn’t end until I’m bestowed with my final breath."
I think one of the things I like most about Shae’s writing & the world she’s created here is how effortless it feels. Characters just live their lives & we’re there to watch it all play out. Everything feels real, tangible, like we’ve known the main characters all our lives.
“I’m dying to hear your proposal,” he says. “Yo, Alex, you are one cool girl.”
Gio nods and sips from a plastic red cup. “If it weren’t for you, I never would have found out how nice I look wearing
colors.”
“I don’t
hate the way you plan things for me.”
“And I secretly love it when you steal my hoodies.”
“Hilarious. Are the tickets for your little standup show on sale yet? Wanna make sure I’m the first in line to give it zero stars.”
And, the side characters are just as loveable as the main ones (I will forever be a Pete, Gio, & Kiara fan, but of course, Frankie, Yuna, Ben, & Trey are incredible too). And I genuinely care about this group of characters: their love lives, their successes, their struggles, their humor... I love being able to read about all of it. Shae’s created such a welcoming world & she keeps us on our toes with the suspense element. I mean, this couple met because of some not-so-legal things, but they dealt with it. Then life threw them another shocker (well, a couple of shockers) & they dealt with that too. And now here we are, in book 3, with yet another surprise that keeps disrupting our couple’s peace.
“You are the best thing that ever happened to me, Antonio Moretti.” ... of all the things Antonio has experienced in his relationship with Alex, this is only the second time he has felt truly speechless, the first being after her “I love you” admission... It both affirms and challenges everything he thought he knew about love. It’s formidable, unfamiliar, and complex, yet flexible, rewarding, and making him feel as though his heart has known Alex’s before they even met.
Overall, I really liked the balance between suspense, romance, & everyday life that’s represented in this one-of-a-kind book & the ride of this trilogy is well worth it! There was definitely a point while reading this book where I questioned: is Shae actually gonna do this? She wouldn't hurt us like this, right? 😆 Girl got me concerned at a couple points in this story.
“Back then there weren’t as many consequences. And when you think about it, no consequences mean you have nothing to fight for. Nothing but our pride, anyway.”
Thankfully though, Alex & Antonio's ending is wrapped up nicely, but I am sad to say goodbye to this crew. I do know that whatever Shae writes next, I'm definitely gonna read it!

And because I really loved this scene, I wanted to call out this club scene quote between our adorable couple:
"... And you should know if you keep your hands where they are, we’ll be about five seconds away from me bending you over this booth.”
Alex smirks. “Would you really do it? Or are you just talking shit?”
“Five. Four. Thr—”
“Well, I’ve been doing kegels and I really wanna show off, so let’s do it.”
Antonio snorts... “Why are you like this?”
“Ah, you like it.”
“I do. I like it a lot. I like you a lot, Alexandra Agneau.”
“Yeah?” Her hands float up to his heart. “Think you might even love me a lil’ bit?”
“You have no idea, gorgeous..."

Alex and Antonio are back for the final chapter of their journey. With their family growing and life shifting, everything else starts to fade into the background. Work, routines, and even intimacy are tested as they try to settle into their new normal.

But peace never lasts long for these two. Just when it seems like they’ve found their rhythm, a familiar threat rises, putting everything they’ve built at risk. As new relationships bloom and old ones are tested, the couple faces their biggest challenge yet. The question isn’t just whether they’ll make it, but whether their love will be strong enough to carry them beyond the chaos.

Beyond Us is book three in the trilogy, and it's absolutely not a standalone. You’ll want to read the first two books before diving in.

This was the book I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. We’ve followed Alex and Antonio through so much, and this final book really gave me everything I hoped for. The twins are here, their little family is finally complete, and it starts out feeling like maybe, just maybe, they’re going to get their happy ending.

But you know better. This is Alex and Antonio we’re talking about. Their world is never quiet for long. I loved how the story dove into what it’s like to juggle love, parenthood, and power in the middle of mob-related messes. Their love for each other is steady and real, and their devotion to their children made my heart feel like it was glowing.

There’s spice, of course, and drama coming at them from all angles, but what really stands out is how they always face it all together. The outside threats are loud, but their bond is louder. The pacing is quick, the tension keeps you turning the page, and the emotional moments hit hard.

The Vibes It Brings:
👨‍👨‍👧‍👦 Found family and parenting feels
❤️ Ride-or-die romance
💣 Mob family drama
🔥 Spicy tension
👊 High-stakes action
🍼 Twin chaos
💍 Long-term love tested
💔 Enemies circling from the shadows

If you've followed Alex and Antonio this far, you need to see how their story ends. Beyond Us is full of love, danger, and those quiet moments that sneak up and hit you right in the heart. It’s emotional, dramatic, and gives a strong finish to a series that’s all about loyalty, love, and surviving the chaos together.

The Between Us series might be over with this one, but Beyond Us by Shae Green is exactly what an ending should be.

Even with Ghost looming in the background, Antonio and Alex's romance shines, showing how hard they've fought through all the trauma they've faced in the series. Seriously, being star-crossed in the way they are, it's so inspiring that their love motivates them to be better people, for themselves and their babies.

And can we discuss the complicated family relationships? The letter—OMG! It's so heartwarming to see how much love that's here. Whether biologically related or found family, these characters are family, and it's so obvious they care for each other deeply. Everyone shows up for our main characters whenever they need it, even if it's at their own expense.

Perhaps the pacing could have ramped up a bit sooner, but the action surrounding the court case and beyond had me gripped by the story. Still, Antonio and Alex's story is all neatly wrapped up in this contemporary romance.

If you want to read a series finale with so much heart, this one is it.

Just finished Beyond Us by Shae Green and wow—what a heartfelt and satisfying end to Alex and Antonio’s journey. This is the third book in the series, and it absolutely delivers on the emotional payoff. I loved seeing how their relationship deepens as they navigate the highs and lows of new parenthood, lingering trauma, and everything in between.

If you’re a fan of second chances, slow-burning intimacy, healing after heartbreak, and some seriously spicy moments, this one’s for you. Watching these two hold onto each other through it all made for such a powerful and tender read. And yes, there’s a looming threat that had me on edge, but the love and connection between Alex and Antonio always takes center stage.

A beautiful, full-circle moment to a story that’s been full of grit, growth, and genuine love.

I wish I would have read book 1 and 2 because I was a little confused in the beginning and about a few things. So be better than me and read the first two books. For me the book started off a bit slow and then picked up and grabbed my attention.

Alex and Antonio have twin babies and are in the beginning stages of starting their family together. They are starting to figure out how to juggle family life, their relationship, and work all at once.

Just as they think they have it all figured out, a Ghost from the past emerges. It tests their love and their relationship. Is their love strong enough to withstand the chaos of everything that is being thrown at them? I loved how the two held onto one another no matter what. It was a beautiful love to watch.

Beyond Us was a 3.5 rounded to 4 for me. I am a little sad about that. I loved the trilogy and getting to be in on Alex and Antonio's world a little bit! I love the hacker meets mafia type vibes. And the conflict in this third book? It was amazing. Like hooked me in and kept me on the edge of my seat.

The only problem? That hook didn't happen until about 70% in. I struggled connecting with the book prior to that. Honestly, there were several times I thought about DNFing but I really wanted to reach the conclusion of their story. I'm glad I did, but it was a little rough at times. It felt like the story was a bit all over the place

Overall, its a good read if you're looking for a story dealing with mental health rep and maybe some PPD/PPA? It Is not meant to be read as a standalone, so you definitely need to read the other two to get all of the pieces.

Thank you so much to @shaegreenwrites for gifting me an e-copy of Beyond Us.

This is the third and final book of the Between Us trilogy and it did not disappoint. I read the first two books and absolutely loved Alex and Antonio’s story and this was the perfect ending to their journey.

The two of them have been through so much together, good and bad. Right when you think “what else could go wrong?”, another threat from the past puts their lives at risk yet again. You will feel all the emotions from this finale, especially seeing them navigate through parenthood together. Not only are they completely devoted to each other, but they would do anything for their children as well and I loved seeing that part of their life. The events from this book are proof that their love for each other can withstand anything that comes their way.

This was an excellent read and if you’ve followed their story from books one and two, you’ll want to dive right into this one! 🖤

The fact being that this is the end of Antonio and Alex's story has made it hard to finish. I love how she finally got her justice. i also knew they were going to end up married now when she got kidnapped my guy I was bout ready to be like I'm done and walk away but I knew Antonio wasn't going to leave her there he was going to find her and end Curtis, but after he gets shot oh how my heart dropped. I love how Trey and Ben are together and how Yuna finally got her wedding to Frankie. I had a feeling Nori and Gio started to date. This was by far one of the bets series I got to read by a new author! I can't wait to see what Shae Green releases next.
