Far from your ordinary hood love story, Love, Lies, and Karma is a rush of adrenaline dressed in unforeseeable betrayal, shocking tragedy, and unimaginable heartbreak. Love and loyalty will only get you so far in this world and LaLa had to find out the hard way. Fresh out of a break up, LaLa found herself in the arms of what seemed to be "Mr. Right." What seemed to be an ideal relationship turns out to be the exact opposite of what she got with Stanley Williams. Not completely done with her past relationship with Tony, LaLa's attempt at happiness is thrown into limbo with Stanley. Stanley has his own issues though, in the form of Karisha, a hood chick with a vendetta against LaLa that nobody saw coming. Amongst these four Compton natives, the love seemed sincere, the lies seemed harmless but the karma - the karma is real.

Whill he respect her the same way she respects him? Readers may agree that Jaycee’s character almost doesn’t belong in this environment. This urban drama is a true tale of love, lies and Frenimies. Readers will enjoy the many plot twists and authentic character development through the novel.

This was a great story and the prologue really helped to understand the beginning of the book. LaLa and Stan have a classic hood love. LaLa is caught up and riding the rollercoaster of their relationship. LaLa is easily likable and is a character that any female can relate to, especially one who has been in one bad relationship and quickly hops into another one. Throw in an ex, Tony, that won't give up and a psycho, jealous hood chick and you have more than enough drama to keep you busy. This book gives a clear example of what can happen when a man thinks with one head and not the other. There are arguments, fights, and paternity drama abound. I love the fact that, in the midst of the chaos, there seems to be a genuine love between the LaLa and Stan. The book leaves us wanting to immediately read part two to find out what happens next. Awesome read. It will surely take you on a ride.
To me, this was an enjoyable read that portrayed what happens when recklessness takes over ones love life. The unnecessary drama La- La experienced with Stanley was downright disturbing. This book was a great example how deceitful behavior can cause pain for everyone involved. This book had a great storyline & relentless characters that made me want to read more. Looking forward to reading part 2.
This was a decent read...didn't care for the physical abuse though. When La la was fighting, she didn't a lot of cursing in front of her mother. Gotta have respect for your parents. Attempting to kill somebody just because you want the man...a shame!
This is a first time read for me by this author, I enjoyed it it took me a minute to get into but when I did I enjoyed it much. I like the story line and the characters. Good job
How can you be so jealous of someone that you really want to kill them. Stan should of just kept his p3nis in his pants. Then maybe Lala wouldn't have be in the predicament that she's in
A non stop page turner !! Lala did not deserve the shorty hand she was dealt . So excited to start book two in a few !! I'm sure it will be just as good
I really enjoyed reading this story. There was drama, action, and crazy characters. LaLa went through so much, and I'm curious to see how things turn out
