Parker Whitmore was raised in a world where image is everything and loyalty is law. As the poised, sharp-tongued daughter of a respected businessman with criminal ties, she always knew her future would be strategic—but never did she expect to wake up married to Sebastian “Shooter” Mosley, the city’s most feared, unhinged enforcer. Cold-blooded and deadly with an icy blue stare that silences rooms, Shooter is the last man she ever wanted.
What begins as a forced arrangement rooted in power quickly spirals into something neither of them saw coming. Shooter is used to obedience, not attitude. But Parker’s fire drags him into obsession. And Parker? She swore she’d never fall for a man who solves problems with bullets. But when he touches her, her world tilts—and her rules start to crumble. In a marriage built on control, secrets, and enemies at every turn, they’ll have to decide if love is worth falling into or if it will be the very thing to destroy them.
The arranged marriage between Shooter and Parker had the potential, but it fails to go anywhere because there is virtually no chemistry between them. Shooter is unlikable, and Parker was weak, despite attempts to make her look otherwise. Her attempts to stand up to Shooter made her look childish and petulant. And Shooter, for his part, didn't give the boss he was trying to; he honestly just came off like an a*s. He at no point seemed to care about Parker; he wanted to own her like a possession, and he said as much to her. Parker hates him, and he spends three days with another woman, and then all of a sudden she is horribly jealous and can't stop wanting him?! Make it make sense!
This story had potential, but it just didn’t deliver. The pacing dragged, and the plot followed a very predictable path. We’re introduced to Parker, a mafia princess in a standard arranged marriage setup. Her fiancé dies, and in steps the “blue-eyed menace” who, despite the dramatic nickname, brings very little excitement or depth to the story.
From there, it turns into a familiar pattern: she hates being there, he makes no effort to connect with her emotionally, and instead plays manipulative mind games. Instead of building actual chemistry or tension, the story turns to him cheating for three days and *somehow that’s her turning point? Where she realizes she wants him and wants to sleep with him🤢🤢 It felt rushed, unearned, and honestly confusing.
There’s very little character development—what you learn about them early on is all you get. The plot felt recycled from other arranged marriage stories, but without the emotional pull or dramatic weight that usually makes the trope engaging.
It wasn’t for me, but readers who enjoy the framework of arranged marriage romance might still find elements to enjoy here.

This wasn't a bad story, but it lacked character development.
I love a good forced/arranged marriage that turns into love and this had potential, but it was unclear what was truly gained with their union. Shooter was manipulative, controlling, emotionally unavailable, trigger happy, and slightly crazy but I liked him 🤷🏾♀️🤔 Don't judge me lmao. I do feel like he was wide open for Parker, despite him not showing it. However, he had very little character growth. It was clear he had some childhood trauma from the way his father treated him, but it was never addressed. Parker was a brat and she was groomed to be a wife. She had no desire to be married to anyone and it seemed to be due to the her having a lack of positive parental relationships. This also was not addressed.
Okay, so I liked the push and pull between them. I liked that Parker pushed his buttons and it created some angst between them and some explosive sex scenes. Outside of that it didn't feel like they knew much about each other beyond the present. He helped her fulfill a dream, she supported his lifestyle but there was no depth. She has an opportunity to share with him how her dad refused to support her, but nope everything remained surface level. What irritated me the most was what caused the shift between them....Shooter wanted to show her he had power over her so he disappears for days and comes back with hickeys and this was the moment she knew she wanted to be with him?!? Oh okay...🙄🤔🥴 What's even more wild is that he was constantly talking about how he didn't share, but as smart mouthed as she was she never once said I don't share either....oh okay.
That said if you are looking for a surface level read, with a rough fine AF Mmc this may be for you 🤷🏾♀️
I tried pushing through this book but I just wasn’t feeling the main characters. There was no depth to them, you really didn’t even know them even halfway through the book. Parker just seemed to sit around the house all day and I can’t for the life of me figure out why she was so hot in the pants for Shooter. From the way she was talking the only thing he had going for him was his looks. Also, she made a big deal about him being gone for three days with no word and then coming back with hickies and sleeping with another woman and his repeated actions of leaving and not responding to her calls and texts, but she’s still just so hot in the pants for him. I wonder at the folks that gave this book high stars because both the character development and plot were weak.
I wanted to like it, and I forced myself not to DNF and to see it through just because I live for the moments in arranged marriages when it stops being fake and they start catching feelings for real. But I never really got that from them. If anything they just enjoyed being toxic & having hate sex lol but the actual progression of their relationship essentially happened off page, and I wish we actually saw them going out or having deeper conversations and building that emotional intimacy. Also I just didn’t care for the personalities of either of the main characters honestly.
This book was all of the above chefs kiss. Drama ,action ,mess around and find out and above all the spice and intimacy! The way they go tit for tat makes me wish I can meet somebody that can match my flow. I wanna be able to go tit for tat OK !! I feel like I feel like that song from GloRilla when she said, make me shut up 😜🍆. Great book definitely recommend.
Been waiting for this book and Thee Tasha Marie did not disappoint!! So glad I found all her books been reading on her books for the last couple weeks ❤️❤️
Was so excited for this book but it didn’t quite land for me. I didn’t learn enough about Shooter to connect, their story felt rushed… it just didn’t pull me in but I kept reading because I was ready for the fall in love part. lol
Toxic, funny, cute. This was a good quick read. I loved Parker’s feisty personality. She wasn’t just some subservient woman who was going to give in the to whims of the men on her life. Even if she was forced into a choice she was gone give him hell all the way through and I loved that. She was also true to herself. When she started feeling shooter she was trying to fight it but not in a childish way, and when she couldn’t she was real with herself and gave in. In so many book we see the female characters play hard to get for 200 pages knowing they gone fold in the end lol, don’t string me along like that🤣🤣. Be real and admit you want that man as much, if not more, as he wants you.
Shooter was funny as hell and infuriating. The way he kept ignoring her while she was screaming at him and trying to fight with him, lord I woulda lost it. No like though it was hells funny watching him smirk at her and egg he crazy ass on more trying to entice her to be upset. It definitely made some wonderful passion. He was a good guy though truly cause he didn’t always say he wanted her but he was constantly showing it even in his possessive way. When he had ole girl door kicked in though , he took me out 🤣🤣🤣. Honestly though, He was just a man trying to prove he was more than a mistake his father treated him as, and I feel mission accomplished. He was better than all them men in here in my opinion.
Overall this was definitely worth the read and funny enough to possibly be a reread someday soon lol.
2.5 ⭐️ ehhhh! The story showed potential at first, but there were numerous plot holes. There were things that didn’t make sense. As well, there was no chemistry or vibez between the couple built into the story. They didn’t make me feel anything.!
BO.RING! DNF @ 56%. What is this? Shooter was such a disappointment. He was psyched up so much in the beginning that I really thought he was about something. So uninteresting, just a whole bunch of talk with no real action. 'You'll see.' 'Try me.' Blah, blah, blah. What are we seeing? Cause all I see is Parker disrespecting and running rings around you, and your idea of punishment/retribution is to disappear for three days so she could miss you. Huh? How exactly does Parker have security stationed outside her door, but one of them (youngest member or not) lets her leave with her friends, with no driver, security detail, nothing? That literally makes no sense at all.
What exactly made Parker miss him after three days? She couldn't stand him, didn't want to be married to him, and it's not like he was likeable or kind. He continually gaslighted her, spoke to her like she was a possession (and not in a sexy way) and when she finally started coming around to him, he used her desires against her and made her beg?? Girl, if you don't pepper spray that fool one good time, consequences be damned!
There was nothing about this couple that would make you root for them. They had ZERO chemistry. He was an utter a**hole, and not in the sexy, grumpy misunderstood way (and trust me when I tell you I have read toxic alpha males; I'm not new to this), and she was a complete ditz, even though we empathized with her at first for not wanting to be married off. Nothing about Shooter screamed real mafia boss, no matter how much Parker tried to convince us that the way he conducted himself at the dinner (where she literally played no role whatsoever) was sooooo commanding and sexy. Ok, girl. Him acting like an unhinged lunatic because she hugged a male college friend does not make him dangerous or sexy. It makes him an overgrown child who can't control himself. But he can come home with hickeys? Pass.
╰┈➤ arranged marriage ╰┈➤ mafia setting ╰┈➤ enemies to lovers ╰┈➤ “touch her and die” ╰┈➤ power imbalance ╰┈➤ possessive mmc ╰┈➤ strong-willed fmc ╰┈➤ anti-hero ╰┈➤ forced proximity
it’s something about an enemies-to-lovers, arranged mafia marriage book trope that quenches my thirst for books especially urban romance books. this is my first time reading from tasha marie’s collection and i’m officially hooked!
parker whitmore is a strong-willed, sharp tongue, bratty but passionate woman who i loved from the beginning. she’s one of those female characters thats unapologetically outspoken.
as much power of the tongue she has, her father gets the last word being she’s sent off to marry one of the mosley’s sons—silas—for business purposes. when silas ends up dead, she’s then left with the other son—sebastian “shooter” mosley. a thief in the night who’s not afraid to pull triggers and take names.
known for his menacing blue eyes and piercing black heart, shooter is a man who commands the room as soon he walks in. he’s what you call a silent assassin. a lover like him getting married to a smart mouth woman like parker should be hell for him? nope. in fact, he’s relishing in making her eat her words with his mouth…and other things 🤭
their union started of rough because the origin of their relationship; after weeks of fiery spats, petty getbacks—her going out with her girls to the club and dancing with other men while he retaliated by coming home after three days with hickies over his neck—and power imbalances, the two continue to play their cat and mouse game until they both decide to give in to their desires. BAYBEH! it was hot 😩
they finally realized their attraction for each other is reciprocated and love eventually clouds their judgements. now we do end up finding out who killed silas (and i was shocked!) but the important thing is: mr. and mrs. mosley are in LOVE
I LOVED THIS BOOK. 10/10. I NEED A TIMELASPE NOVELLA OF THEM OR SOMETHING CAUSE I MISS THEM ALREADY
This was definitely a good read.A must read I enjoyed it. I will be recommending it to my friends and family. I’m glad Parker and Sebastian fell in love when I thought it was gonna happen and I’m glad subs gonna let him run the Empire because he’s getting old and there was a need for change, also happy that Parker is going to be opening up her own boutique with her own clothes and also got a baby on the way. Yay.

I was nice by giving it 2 stars because I finished the book. But this was not it. The whole time Parker kept saying how much she hated Sebastian and then randomly they fell in love with each other? They didn’t have any interactions that could even build chemistry aside from them going to business meetings and having sex. It was a hard no for me
Very enjoyable arranged marriage story. Just a man that didn’t play about his woman. FMC was dynamic. The drama was splayed perfectly and made for good tension through out the book.
Tashaaaaaaa girllll you had my pressure up with this one but loved it BAD!!! I didn’t think we would ever get a common ground but I’m satisfied how it ended! They were definitely meant to be. Lol
I love arranged marriage Romances, but this one just wasn't it for me. The characterization was a very simplistic pattern that was predictable, the formatting was in that big font with double spacing that doesn't feel like a professional ebook, and romance felt trepid. Parker as a FMC was really trying all my nerves. Her motivations didn't really make sense in the grand scheme of the situation she was in, it felt immature, especially given her age. I couldn't place why she felt the way she felt in those situations and circumstances. Intellectually, I would assume she would move differently or behave differently. This was a highly anticipated read for me that sizzled out. I DNFd at 20%
I didn’t enjoy this as much as I would have liked. 50% of the book felt repetitive. Several chapters of the FMCs disdain for the MMC going on about how she needed to change her attitude and he was going to make her do it. If slow burn/enemies to lovers is what the writer was going for, this wasn’t that. Neither of their perspectives helped progress the first half of the book. And when we finally got a time jump (which was needed at the rate this was going) we skipped too far but also nothing actually happened at the same time??
Shooter was too controlling and it was never cute to me. Parker was supposed to be this outspoken, headstrong girl but nothing backed that up fr. We didn’t learn much about her. Also the random cheated sprinkled in?? What was that and why didn’t we address it?
They literally had sex once and started to tolerate each other. At one point Parker claims she felt protected and like Shooter wanted her to ‘want better for herself’ but we never see why she thought that.
The last 20% of the book was a desperate attempt to create the depth the book lacked. But it just felt tacked on. At no point did this feel like a romance. Shooter literally never showed any ‘like’ for her outside of sex. They kept talking about falling for each other but I literally never understood why. We learned nothing about their childhoods or lives before being together. They didn’t share any intimate moments outside of sex. And virtually they were the same people when the book ended.
I think this was another case of just writing what’s popular, unhinged man with a bunch of spicy scenes. Lazy.
I can say that I did thoroughly enjoy the story of Parker Whitmore and Sebastian “Shooter” Mosley. I would say that arranged or forced marriages are my most favorite tropes. Parker and Shooter both were both raised from a crime family of wealth and power when marrying adult children off to another wealthy family to maintain that ludicrous criminal lifestyle is common among the elites. Parker was set to marry Silas Mosley the elder son of the Mosley brothers but suddenly he was murdered. You’d think that deal would be void…wrong the next up in line was Sebastian “Shooter” Mosley. The more dangerous of the two brothers. Boring the blue eyes of his white mother but killer instinct of his black father. Parker fought tooth and nail to NOT marry Shooter, however among the rich, criminal and elite…the choice was not particularly hers. I liked Parker, she was very strong minded, she didn’t just allow Shooter to treat her any kind of way and she didn’t want to sit around being an housewife. She had her own goals and had her own fun with or without Shooter or her father’s approval. There were some unexpected surprise towards the end of the book that I as completely caught off guard regarding! Overall, this was a very entertaining read that captured my attention throughout, I give this book ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (4 stars)!
Claimed By A Blue Eyed Menace by Thee Tasha Marie is a solid arranged marriage dark romance novel with a deranged crime family at the center of it. Though I didn't find the characters lovable or diverse, two things I strongly prefer in my romance novels, they were well thought out given the subject matter. The best part of Claimed By A Blue Eyed Menace is the unexpected twist at the end, but, unfortunately, it's revealed at the very last minute and not fleshed out throughout the story. The worst part is the FMC, who is shockingly weak and uncultured, despite the character's alleged connections to high society. This is my first novel from Thee Tasha Marie and, while I found it to be solid, I didn't find it as entertaining as the novellas I've read from her.
Baybeeeee, when I say this book had me in a CHOKEHOLD?! Tasha Marie really cooked with this one, and I devoured every single spicy, messy, delicious page.
Let’s start here: it’s an arranged marriage story—already off to a bomb start. Parker is supposed to marry Silas, a man she ain’t even want, but when he ends up six feet under, she thinks she’s free. WRONG. Instead, she’s handed off to his younger brother Sebastian aka Shooter, a man known for being cold, calculated, and fine enough to ruin your life on sight. And Parker? She is terrified. So much so, sis tries to pay him off to get out of it. But Shooter already decided—she’s claimed. Period.
Their chemistry?? Unhinged. It’s giving hate-to-want-you, enemies-to-lovers, argue all day just to make up in the nastiest way possible. Their banter was 10/10. The sexual tension? OFF. THE. CHARTS. The man called her “Good Girl” so many times I had to clutch my pearls and fan my Kindle.
But it ain’t all spice. There’s real development here. The way these two slowly fall for each other underneath all the fire and fury is so soft, so unexpected, and honestly...so beautiful. Shooter is a menace, yes, but the way he moved for Parker?? Whew. Even his silence hit different. Parker, queen of comebacks, found herself SPEECHLESS more than once—and I lived for it.
Now, don’t get too comfortable. There is no big breakup, but baby, the truth that comes out late in the game? Yeah...that shook everything. Parker’s running scared, questioning everything. Meanwhile Shooter, calm as ever, just...kidnaps her back. The man really said "I'll let you breathe but don't think you're leaving." He's insane. And I loved him for it.
Their bedroom games? ICONIC. They were out here seeing who would beg first, and I was in the corner giggling like a damn teenager. Every scene was electric. Every moment, intense. This book had me locked in.
Final verdict? 5/5 stars. No skips. No fluff. Just pure, unfiltered chaos and romance with a main character who absolutely lives up to the "menace" title. And Parker? A queen for surviving it.
If you like: ✨ Arranged marriage 😡 Possessive anti-heroes 🔥 Enemies-ish to lovers 🚩 Toxic but tender 💪 Banter + Brattiness
This is the very first book that had a FMC and MMC that I couldn’t stand. I tried to get into this book I really did. *Spoiler Alert* I get the arranged marriage, even enjoy that trope, but Shooter basically gaslit Parker throughout the book. After marriage you cheat on her not even a week into the marriage makes sure she sees the evidence and then tell her to let it go. Parker actually does it which is even more sad. It’s at this point that she becomes attracted to him. Sigh!! 😔 She claims to be this mouthy strong character but that is far from what she is. He’s real handsy too. He requires her to stay home and cook and clean. And yep you guessed it, she talks smack but does it. This type of behavior is usually shown by the person the FMC leaves for her HEA. Sadly he is what she gets. The story line is okay but somewhat predictable. Nope I don’t recommend this at all.
Power and control is what Shooter wanted. Parker wasn't even that girl. She was defiant. Did her daddy know about Shooter killing Silas? Ren knew it wasn't going to end well for him because how are you going to turn on your man? Did you see how Shooter did Gino? He went in with no game plan, plus you cleared it up. So what was he thinking? Parker just wanted to hang with her girl. Their relationship was about control, but when Parker couldn't take it no more the dam broke. Shooter sent his men to go get his wife. He was behind her one hundred percent about her business. He acted a fool behind her. He proposed a real marriage and she said yes. Now they are expected a baby. Shooter and his father came to an understanding. And Parker daddy had a funny way of showing love. He loves her in his own special way. He is proud of Parker and that's all cared about. Parker and Shooter loves each other that's what it all about.
The book was good but....it was missing something. Parker and Shooter were forced to marry for business reasons. But of course were physically attracted to one another. The power struggle between the two was there but the actual chemistry was weak. The storyline was there but not fleshed out enough. Like why did Silas start this whole thing with the Feds? What was Ren's deal? Was there genuine love between Parker and her father? These few questions could've been answered with a few paragraphs or pages. More insight into the evolution of Parker and Shooter's changing relationship would've helped as well. Those changes go me would've changes this story from 3 to 5 stars.
Whew Chil, the backstabbing was endless, and so was the toxicity.
Claimed By A Blue Eyed Menace started off as an arranged marriage for power. Sebastian (Shooter) & Parker were both stubborn asf and set in their ways. Both trying to navigate the arrangement they found themselves in, while learning each other. Her mouth was ruthless but so were his actions. He wanted submission and she wanted to be seen and heard, not controlled by yet another man. They soon realized that things they irked the other was things that they started to love. Once these two realized what the other truly needed and stopped fighting the chemistry and showed tons to just flow they were inseparable. They hit a few bumps along the way but in the end love won 🥰
Okay Parker definitely didn’t know what she was getting into and was determined to fight it all the way to the end, but Shooter knew what he wanted and he was just as determined to get it. I’m glad that her dad at least was happy for Parker when it truly mattered. Shooter played no games when it came down to business or Parker. If you haven’t read this, then what are you waiting on.
Thee Tasha Marie I enjoyed this from beginning to the end, the story pulled me end and didn’t slow down, you did a good job with the characters from basically enemies to marriage. Can’t wait to see what you have next!
