Lexi's New Year's resolutions are off to a bad start. All she wants is to put herself first and say no. No to extra work. No to leading meetings she knows nothing about. And no to new projects she definitely doesn't have the time for. The only yes she wants to say is to her best friend, Rafa.
Rafa's not off to a great start either. After six years of living in Whisper Creek, the grumpy, rejected wolf is ready to say yes more often. Yes to making new friends. Yes to getting involved in the community. And yes to his human best friend that he can't stop thinking about. So, what happens when the two friends "volunteer" to decorate for The Lady of the Lake festival? Will sparks fly?
Or will something - or someone - get in their way? The past doesn't always stay in the past. Rafa's might be catching up faster than he'd hoped. But is the allure of his old pack enough to take him away from Whisper Creek forever?
It’s was great seeing characters from the previous book. I loved getting more of the town and love a good small town monster series. We get lots of cozy vibes and fun banter. Best friends to lovers with a bit of second chance and found family. Heavy on some good tropes and contemporary romance vibes.
Just know there will be a couple time jumps. You get a few glimpses at early moments in the relationship of the main character’s. The timeframe of the jumps spans over 6 years. Make no mistake this is a slow burn. If that’s your trope this is your book. This shifter is one where his wolf is a separate being from him, he has a different name and mind of his own. This gives you another main character. I think this is why there wasn’t any wolf form spice, he did have fun in his partial shift form.

Ahhhh I loved this so much! It was so cute and cozy but also kept me immersed.
"For this next year, I will say no and put boundaries up so I can feel free. I only want to accept what I can handle."
Lexi is the bubbly human who always gets walked all over- the one who cannot seem to say no. She's such a ray of sunshine but she is getting burnt out and just wants to live her life.
"... Fate might be written in the stars, but ultimately, you get to decide your life."
Rafa is the newbie to town. The grumpy lycan whose life was turned upside down when his mate rejected him- for his brother. Ouch! When Lexi comes over to bring him a basket to welcome him to town- he can't help but appreciate her enthusiasm for life.
Strangers morph into best friends. Who also happen to secretly want each other. When the townies start putting more pressure o. Lexi than she can bear, Rafa steps up and handles business! The past comes back to haunt him in the middle of all of this, and Rafa realizes he needs his "sunshine" more than words can describe. As lines start blurring between friends and lovers, whose going to make the leap first?
"Ive loved you at every size. I'd be a fool to complain. I just have way more to grab onto now."
Highly recommend this book for a quick Steamy read that will have you wishing for more.
There aren't enough friends to lovers werewolf romances. This one is sure to hit the spot. Lexi doesn't know how to say no and Rafa is constantly saying no. Their friendship is hilarious too. I love how they just watch reality shows and have matching bearded dragons lol
If you have an hour or two to spare, this cozy romance is perfect - and fair warning 🌶😳
I read this as an ARC and couldn't get enough. So I went back to read the first. And while Yari is fun - Lexi wins lol. She was so sweet. And Rafa is book boyfriend material 100%
Another sweet romance book. I love these characters and just the over all sweetness and vibes of this series. Def loved seeing Yari & Odo show up through too!
