The Billionaire Rancher I Can't Forgive: An Enemies to Lovers Small Town Romance

Rate this book
She’s my forbidden love… and my secret will destroy her as it destroyed her sister.

I returned to my hometown to rescue the horses, a failing ranch, and bury my guilt—not to fall for my sister’s best friend, Emily Carter, all over again.

She’s the one woman who should never forgive me… and she doesn’t even know what I’ve done.

We’re living under the same roof, thanks to my sister’s meddling, working side by side on the ranch.

I swore I’d keep a civil distance, never to cross that forbidden line. But her closeness, every stolen glance, every accidental touch, makes me burn hotter than the last.

One kiss reignites everything. The desire. The ache. The love I never got over.

Now I can’t stay away. And I can’t keep lying—to myself or her.

She deserves the truth. But telling her means losing her.

Falling deeper in love with the woman I can never have may break my heart…again.

The Billionaire Rancher I Can’t Forgive was a captivating story about Chase McAllister, a local veterinarian and owner of the McAllister Ranch, and Emily Carter, a vet tech who has a history with Chase. Both Chase and Emily had been away from Palisade for two years and were returning home to live and work at Ambrose Ranch. The ranch was up for sale, and they were going to get the place and horses ready for sale for the owners.

Both left town two years ago after the tragic, unsolved hit and run death of Emily’s sister Amelia, who used to work as an equine therapist for Chase at McAllister Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation Ranch. Both had to deal with the PTSD that resulted from Amelia’s death by an unknown driver from the McAllister ranch. The driver wasn’t revealed until midway through the book and the ripples from the reveal had a far-reaching impact. Not only did the MCs have to deal with Amelia’s death, but also their unresolved feelings toward each other. This was not a traditional love story. It was messy, heart wrenching, healing, and beautiful. This story was an emotional rollercoaster that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you rooting for love to conquer all.

The book had well-crafted characters, an easy-to-follow plotline, and an interesting locale. I enjoyed the use of Palisade, a real city in Colorado as the locale, and the placement of other familiar Colorado cities throughout the story. There were some great supporting characters, with my favorites being Lily, Chase’s younger sister and Emily’s best friend, and Dan, Chase’s ranch foreman and best friend. Both were funny and supportive, but also willing to set them straight, if needed.

The books in the series so far have been POWERFUL, engaging, entertaining, and so much more, and I have a new favorite author. The content was written in a prolific way that was captivating and made you feel like you could hear the nicker of the horses and smell the fresh hay. This story was an emotional, spicy, engaging, must read.
