It is 1969 and Bubba Jones, is living in the Mississippi Delta, during the Vietnam War. There he quietly fights a war of his own. All his life he’d been referred to as “the retard,” or even less kindly words. Each Friday Bubba purchases a $1 lottery ticket. Every Saturday he sits glued to the television. He has never had one numbers to come up. Then one night the first four numbers called are his. There was only one left. Bubba has enemies that can align themselves and make his life miserable. When things take a turn for the better, his detractors gather to bring more misery Bubba’s way. Bubba Jones is a story of the human spirit, where love, family, loyal friends’ line up with God to combat the nastiness of Bubba’s disparagers. Can he dig down one more time to find the will to survive, even in the most surprising of circumstances?
This book was great... It show how the views of others can always be so negative. You can be a stand up person and people will do whatever they can to bring you done. But even though Bubbas family had a major life change it never changed them. It always show GOD can bless anyone in anyway!!!
