After rescuing Amy and dismantling the twisted experimentation lab, Xay and his team get honored as heroes.
However, Cosmos Academy responds with brutal, individualized coaching—forcing them to confront their weaknesses and face the true scale of power within the Awakened World.
They each train hard to master their abilities before their second awakening, but Xay takes on two extra challenges along the psychic force—and earning the approval of Kimi’s intense family.
Well, this was….. something. Right so digging in there’s some fairly good points for this book, annnnnd on the other hand they are (for me at least) overshadowed by the very not good points. Honestly I started skimming and skipping a lot. Probably around 10-20% of the book. And it was a lot of word vomit filler too. Completely unnecessary for the story and book. At points it honestly felt, and I wouldn’t be surprised if, this was made heavily with AI, and then touched up after. Or just super poor editing.
The good- decent technical writing skill, relatively good pacing and flow, an interesting story, a passable-ish level of weaving plot points together and decent world building.
The not good- (there’s a bit here - some spoilers) The stats and rarity + skills system is a complete joke. Makes no sense and one of the most standout things for me. At the end of this book Mc has 5000 points in every single stat but they feel and seem to be worthless. Rarity- literally have met LESS than 10 characters that are below S or SS grade. Every single person we meet has S or SS quality classes AND skills. Feels completely pointless. Skills are also basic as hell and feel super underwhelming. Especially for the Mc. Fair props that the author does start to rectify that in this book but literally only 70% of the way through book 2. It’s a slog. The absolute obsession with detailing every… single… outfit… that the Mc wears. Far out man we get it, bro likes hoodies and low top sneakers. We don’t need to be told every single time he has a wardrobe change…. To the same goddamn outfit. With 2? Pairs of shoes detailed a lot too. AI???
The whole Anton thing. Many other people have complained about this so yeah. Just like bruh really?
The different view points- some people seem to love em, some hate em. In general I like em. In this I don’t. Needs wayyyyyyyyyyy less screen time for some characters. Yeah sure keep different POVs coming, but slow the roll and focus more on POVs from characters that are in close contact with the MC and how they view things related to the MC.
There’s more but man I’m tired and this kinda sucked. Yeah I’ll keep reading on the next one, but if any of that’s a deal breaker for you, just abort mission peeps.
This series will be one to watch as soon as I get paid I will be buying every book that comes out for the series. The subtle world building the different perspectives of the plots in the background, I look forward to what happens next this book is giving me everything I wanted and more read it you wont regret it. I look forward to where the story leads to next the world is vibrant and engaging and even the intimate sections aren't too over the top they are realistic and vibrant well done I can't wait to see what comes next also that cliff hanger is just evil and I love it .
Excellent continuation, even better than the first book
I absolutely love this series and truthfully, all books by this author.
Spoiler: I'm happy to see the relationship with Kimmy move forward. She might be my favorite.
I also like the snow ball effect on Xay's powers, how smaller advantages are stacking and becoming more potent as the series continues. His stat advantage for one, and his bonds for two.
This series has everything you can want in an adult fantasy/science fiction adventure story!!! A great humble MC, an ever growing family, exceptional world building and a plethora of bad people to despise!!! It is always enjoyable for me when the MC isn't OP right off the bat and their humility shines through!!! I can't wait to see what comes next and wish this author great success!!!
A great Lit RPG with a unique system. But still using common tropes and idioms so it's easy to follow. The characters are interesting and complement one another giving depth and variety.
This chapter did a great job of keeping world building and character growth and development interesting. The author does a great job of working the logic of the protagonists origins and growth into the story mythos.
I’d give the story and the flow, the characters, 5 stars, but the quality of the writing and amount of errors takes it down a notch. Still well worth reading! I really like the spirituality threads in the story. The sex scenes are fine, I guess, not too long, but too many tropes for my taste. It’s like porn, you know it’s not real when you see it.
This book was mostly an interm book, but not a lot happened on the overall plot, but the character growth and development of relationships was fantastic. The ending felt a little rushed with all the different POVs back to back, but the actual ending went out with a "bang," haha. I look forward to the next one.
At the same level as book 1, so pretty good for what it is. Not a 5, but it's progressing well and the next quantum level of bonds/harem is reached before the end of this book. I'll read book 3 when it comes out, so it's kept me engaged so far.
Great world and character development. Love the mix of technology and magic, the creation of non-humans. Follows the standard troupe but adds a ton of flair. I am looking forward to reading more.
