While I did enjoy the book I felt it just abruptly ended, no groveling, no epilogue or anything to tie it all together at the end. It was I need space don’t follow me, now it’s x months later the guys show up and they’re all just back together again. I also kinda felt like the whole part with Dean just fell short for me. There also wasn’t much about Reighn looking for her sister, granted we know what happened but it was mentioned like twice before she found out what happened.

I hope everyone enjoys the Blackwood brothers as much as I do!! And for those wondering... yes, there will be another book for Dean(Of Scars and Roses- 2026)
***ARC Review*** The happenstance that brought Reighn and the Blackwood brothers together, starts off on mountains of secrets, pain and grief. Unbeknownst to her, the brothers hold the key to the answers she’s been searching for.
But once all is revealed, will they have their happy ending?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes: Secrets Past trauma Enemies to lovers Angst Insta-lust Slow burn Twin brothers Why choose Strip club
This story had so much that is unspoken, unravelled and has so much pain connected to them. The burn is slow! Though the angst and tension is thick and delivers hands down!
The character development from Devlin is crazy and I loved seeing his softer side and how he was able to fight his demons for Reighn.
I felt the ending was a bit abrupt, I was hoping there was an epilogue, but was still happy with the story and how it was written.
This book got me a little confused. I really loved the first like 90% that's why I give it a 4 stars, but the last 10% felt wrong. It was really rushed and some parts were skipped that I really wanted to know. I loved the brothers and loved the fact that Reighn was a badass who put herself first. The story was fast paced and hooked me in from the first page.
"Father? Funny how you use that word so carelessly. I don't recall you ever fulfilling that role."
"This was a horrible idea. I can't do that again. I wont do that again. I'm definitely doing that again."
"Of course the devil would never allow there to be fun in his club. The idea is completely absurd. Employees actually like their job and want to have fun with one another. Whoa. Such a crazy concept."
I liked the idea of this story but I feel like the pacing was off. There are times where everything happens so fast and a lot of details are missed. I also feel like we could have used more back stories on the characters.
Reign is searching for her missing sister. She connects with two brothers, Declan and Devlin while searching for a job… as a sexy exotic dancer fire. Why choose?! 🥵 🔥 🌶️ so thankful to have ARC read this one.
I've just finished the book and I simply had to write a review. Wow. I absolutely devoured this book in just a couple of days, I couldn't put it down! From the very first chapter, I was completely invested in the FMC, Reighn. She's not some wilting flower and she arrives in town with a purpose… to find her sister, Pearl, who has been missing for years. I loved her strength and determination right from the start. And then you have the Blackwood brothers… ohh goodness me! When Reighn gets a job at their club you meet Declan, who is just the sweetest and most charming man, but then there's Devlin. They call him the Devil for a reason! The tension between Reighn and Devlin is just electric and has you hooked. That delicious push and pull, the simmering 'will they, won't they' energy between them had me turning pages way past my bedtime… oops! He’s one of those brooding, complicated men you know you should stay away from but you just can't help but be drawn in by. What I really loved is that it’s so much more than just a romance read. There's a real mystery at the heart of the story that keeps you guessing, and has you so invested in finding out what happened to Pearl and uncovering the secrets the Blackwood family is hiding. It gives the book such wonderful depth and kept the stakes incredibly high, the author knows just how to hook us in. Honestly, I was hooked on this book. It has everything I look for… a strong heroine to root for. The complex (and ridiculously handsome) men and a story that has heart and suspense. If you're looking for your next ‘can't put it down’ read then do yourself a favour and pick this one up. I absolutely loved it and can't recommend it enough!

Reighn has not spoken to her sister in years after they had a falling out. She decides to go to the last place she remembers her sister, Pearl, living, find her, and possibly repair their relationship. Little does Reighn know that the questions she has may lead her to a distraction, or two!
The Blackwood Brother. Dark, gorgeous, and the distraction Reighn was not expecting, but is not exactly running from. Devlin, the hard, dark, brooding brother, has no time for anything or anyone in his life. With no patience for anyone and an ice-cold heart, Devlin was never expecting to meet someone as captivating as Reighn. Why is she here? Declan, Devlin's twin and younger by a couple of minutes, has the same dark, gorgeous aura, but is softer and kinder. The brothers are definitely opposites, but the one thing that ties them together is their desire for the newest girl in town.
The brothers own a gentleman's club where Reighn decides to get a job in hopes of expanding her search for her sister. She knows why she is there in this town, but the twins, with their smoldering looks, have veered Reighn off course in finding out where her sister is.
Will they help Reigh in her mission to uncover the whereabouts of her sister, or will they continue in their efforts to try and distract her and claim her as theirs?
Thank you for the opportunity to read this! I enjoyed it a lot, though I feel that the ending could have been fleshed out a bit more. It seems to end abruptly, and no epilogue about the future of our FMC. Also, there is another Blackwood brother, but he was so minor that it didn't seem fitting to mention him.

So we have our fmc, Reighn. I literally want to be here when I grow up. She is literally amazing. She is fierce, stubborn, and has so much fire but also is really sweet and kind and very true to herself.
Our mmc's are Declan and Devlin. Declan and Devlin are twins that have been dealt a tough hand in life, which ultimately shaped who they are as individuals. Devlin is dark, broody, a grumpy pants, whereas Declan is so positive and sweet and has golden retriever vibes.
The plot was so good! It had me hooked from the first chapter. Reighn is searching for her sister. In order to get information, she lands herself a job at Blackwoods as a dancer. Whilst working, she hoped to find her sister, but she didn't expect to feel a certain way around her new bosses. Declan instantly befriends her, but he's also kind of obsessed with her, too, and wants to be more than friends. Devlin, he wants to steer clear of her at all costs, but he can't help that he is falling hard and fast for Reighn, too. Along the way, they find their groove, and Reighn finally let's them in. However, it all comes crashing down when so many secrets and lies are exposed. Will Declan and Devlin earn Reighn's trust back?
This was really good, i highly recommend reading it.
Thank you so much, Rhiver and your lovely team, for the opportunity to read this story. I am forever grateful 🙏
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 🌶🌶🌶
♥️ why choose / mfm ♥️ multiple pov ♥️ twins ♥️ curvy fmc ♥️ dark ♥️ so many secrets and lies ♥️ forbidden ♥️ workplace romance ♥️ forced proximity ♥️ spicy
This book was a little hard for me to get into, I am not sure if it is due to my state of mind and everything going on in my life right now (massive life changes) but for me personally it felt a little rushed. That being said I appreciate Rhose's ideation for the plot, and did like the character growth of Devlin (one of the twin MMCs) This story follows the story of Reighn a skripper who has moved to a small town on a personal mission to try and find her sister who has gone missing when she stumbles upon Devlin and Declan's establishment and demands a job. Little does she know these twins may just hold the answers to the questions she is seeking answers too.
As I said personally I felt this was rushed, is was a little chaotic in places that had me really confused as to why, because in reality people just don't act that way regardless of their lifestyles, to just plain confused to the point I have had to keep stopping and coming back to push myself to finish it all for the ending to be even more chaotic...and I am not meaning that in a horrible way, it was still an okay read. But I feel it could have used a little more depth and information in there paced so as to not confuse?
The Devil’s Reighn is full of drama, secrets, and lies. This story follows Reighn in her search for her sister, Pearl, whom she hasn’t spoken to in a few years. Her investigation leads her to the Blackwood brothers and their club.
As she grows closer to Devlin and Declan, she finds herself torn between focusing on finding her sister and creating a new life for herself in this new city.
What she doesn’t know is that secrets and lies have been the foundation of her relationship with these men and what those lies mean for her and her sister.
I absolutely devoured this book! I really enjoyed Reighn coming into her own power and learning not to back down, especially when it comes to the lifestyle and relationship she found herself in. Dev and Dec were great MMCs and while they were completely different personalities (one cinnamon roll and one grump), it was great seeing how their dynamic with Reighn evolved throughout the story.
This story has been a great palate cleanser between fantasy books and the only “complaints” I have are that the ending felt a little rushed and left me feeling a little underwhelmed. There also was a side character I would’ve loved some closure on where they ended up and if they became close.
All in all, I really liked this book and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes why choose, club scenes, suspense, and mob-type books!
I received this as an ARC but I read the KU version.
So we have Reighn searching for her missing sister. She finds a clue that leads her ton the Blackwood Club. She gets a job as an exotic dancer and hopes to find anyone who can give her a clue.
The Blackwood twins, Devlin and Declan, who own the club are holding answers to the questions Reign has but will they be willing to give them to her?
This story is built on lies from all the main characters. This book had a great chance for some epic groveling but it didn't deliver. I also felt like the relationship progression did not make sense. I understand her and Declan but Devlin went from mean to suddenly in her bed and it didn't feel believable.
The end of this book felt super rushed and definitely needed an epilogue or something. Overall thus could be a five but we definitely need more background and for the relationships to make more sense.
It looks like this is a pretty new author and I hope she is able to develop her stories more so they make sense. This one could easily be made longer or into a duet to better show the search for her sister, the characters backgrounds, the relationship build up, and more spice.
This is a MFM, taboo dark romance with a curvy FMC & twin brother MMC’s.
Reighn is desperate to find her sister, Pearl, who she’s not heard from in a couple of years. Her search leads her to Blackwood’s Club. With very little else to go on, Reighn moves to town & gets a job at the club.
Devlin & Declan Blackwood are the owners of the club, & very quickly Declan draws Reighn in with his charm. Devlin, however, pushes her away, determined not to get attached. The boys know she’s Pearl’s sister, but Reighn is oblivious to this information. Reighn becomes tangled in a web of lies & deceit, being pushed away & purposefully led to believe the wrong thing. But she is powerless to stop how she feels about both of them. Devlin has built walls to protect himself from the horrors his father bestowed upon them, but they slowly begin to fall.
However, once Reighn has decided she wants both of them, & they spend one night together, her world implodes & the lies are revealed. How can she continue with Devlin & Declan now knowing what she knows.
Are they able to earn her forgiveness? Should she forgive them? You’ll have to read to find out!
One brother, traumatized, vows never to let anyone get close enough again to hurt him. The other, is desperate for love and for his brother to heal. One woman, on the search for her sister, ends up finding something she didn't know she was missing.
Reighn is trying to find her sister, who she hasn't seen in 2 years and her search brings her to the last place she was seen. When Reighn applies for a job at the local adult club, little does she knows that the owners know exactly who she is and are keeping secrets from her. On her path to uncover the truth, Reighn is unknowingly drawn into a web of lies and betrayal where her heart is not the only thing in danger.
I feel that this story has good potential but needs some more meat on its bones. The plot would benefit from more of a backstory and some alternative POVs, to better understand why the characters are the way they are and do what they do. And further developing some of the side characters would create a more rounded-off story overall. I felt like I was left with too many questions while reading and after reading, which just doesn't give the same kind of satisfaction. That being said, the spice in the book was hot.
The Devil’s Reighn Author: Rhiver Rhose Release: October 21, 2025 Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Genre: Romance
I loved this book! The tension between the FMC and MMC’s is fire. A bit of a slow burn that’s fits the story so well. Our FMC Reighn holds her own, a bit lippy and totally unaware of how attractive she is. Plus Size lead on a quest for the truth, faced with wanted and unwanted attention. A prequal to this story would amazing.
Author Synopsis: Reighn wanted to find her missing sister. It’s the only thing that matters to her, but instead, she’s distracted by her two devastatingly handsome bosses.
The Blackwood brothers find themselves obsessed with the same plus sized dancer, but they keep a secret that could break her heart.
Will she ever be able to forgive them if she finds out what they’ve been hiding, or will she disappear like her sister?
I enjoyed the story and watching Reighn get to know the brothers and making new friends amongst the girls at the Club. I liked the differences between the twins and that it wasn't quite a why choose right away as clearly one brother seems to hate her. About at the 65% point I noticed that there were some points that didn't have a page break when the scene would suddenly change. The character would be doing one thing and then it was just the next scene in the next paragraph, so it was a little odd at some points towards the end. But this is an ARC and editing may not have been done yet. I do feel like the conclusion at the end was a bit to easy, and that the choices made were far to simple for the situation she found herself in. I am excited to see how things are after edits once the book releases as some things may be a little more cleared up on some things. I definitely can say that I really enjoyed the brothers up on stage and having their moment to dance. Poor Reighn just didn't know it that the boys had it in them.
This book had me hooked from the very first page. It’s the perfect blend of mystery, romance, and emotional tension, wrapped in an atmosphere that’s both dark and intoxicating. The author does an incredible job building intrigue, you can feel the secrets simmering beneath every interaction, every glance, every word left unsaid.
Reighn is such a compelling protagonist she's driven, vulnerable, and determined to uncover the truth about her sister, even when the answers start leading her somewhere dangerous. The Blackwood brothers are equally captivating in their own ways: one disarmingly charming, the other brooding and guarded, each carrying pieces of a secret that keeps you guessing until the very end.
The writing is immersive and cinematic, filled with suspense and slow-burn chemistry that makes every scene pulse with emotion. It’s darkly romantic, mysterious, and full of heartache in all the right ways.
If you love stories with family secrets, forbidden love, and twists that keep you up late reading “just one more chapter,” this one’s for you.
The Devil’s Reighn is a dark, atmospheric romance that thrives on secrets and power. At its core is Reighn, a heroine driven by desperation to uncover the truth about her sister’s disappearance.
Her search pulls her into the orbit of the Blackwood brothers—Declan magnetic and dangerously charming, and Devlin cold and impenetrable.
Their presence is both intoxicating and threatening, shaping the tension that runs through every chapter.
Reighn’s vulnerability is matched by her determination, while the brothers embody opposite archetypes—seduction versus restraint, openness versus guarded silence. Together, they create a dynamic that is less about comfort and more about obsession, trust, and the peril of surrender.
Tropes • Brotherly opposites (charmer vs stoic) • Forbidden attraction • Family secrets • Obsession vs trust • Romantic suspense
Triggers Warnings • Captivity themes • Family trauma • Power imbalance • Secrets tied to violence and betrayal
What it is about: This story is about the Blackwood Brothers (twins Devlin and Declan and half-brother Dean) and Reighn, who is searching for her missing sister Pearl.
What I struggled with: 👩FMC was more focused on enticing her handsome brothers, than actually searching for her sister. 🌶️It was advertised as spicy romance, but it was such a slow-slow burn. 🙄This book made me want to roll my eyes so many times... Don't get me wrong: I like a good push-and-pull, but these 3 idiots just kept going round in circles. ✍️For the first time in a very long time, I did not highlight any funny expressions or favorite quotes. 🤷♀️And I ended up skimming through the last 3 chapters, so I could get to the "finished" status.
What you need to know: 🫂multi POV 🖤forbidden love (brothers), but no swords-crossing 💃they own a strip club, she is a plus-size dancer 📣he calls her Darling🤮, she calls him Devil 🎬pop references: Twilight, Rocky,... 🌶️slow burn: first kiss at 50%, very few (and short) intimate scenes as from 65%
For the safety squad: 🔥degradation 🦺no condom, no “I am clean” conversation
This is a dark and dramatic story that pulls you in with its intensity. The atmosphere is gripping, and the author creates a world filled with danger, temptation, and suspense that keeps you turning the pages. The tension between the characters feels raw and adds a lot of fire to the plot.
That said, the book isn’t without flaws. Some sections feel a little rushed, leaving you wanting more depth in the characters’ backstories and motivations. There are moments when the pacing gets uneven — big events happen quickly, while other parts linger too long.
Still, the boldness of the storytelling and the strong emotional pull make this an engaging read. It’s not perfect, but it has plenty of memorable moments and a style that stands out.
3.5 stars — an intense and creative story with real potential, though it could benefit from more polish and depth.
3.5⭐️ The Devils Reighn has a lot of potential! I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters, both in the individual relationships and the sibling dynamic. The why-choose MFM setup was fun, and the slow-burn spice added a nice touch.
That said, some parts felt a little uneven. The pacing would slow down a lot, then suddenly speed up, and a few pieces of information felt missing. I especially wished for more backstory on the two MMCs and a stronger role for Dean—it sometimes felt like he was added in without a clear purpose. The FMC had moments of growth, but overall it felt a bit inconsistent.
Even with those bumps, I genuinely enjoyed the story. The characters and overall plot were strong enough to keep me interested, and I think with a bit more fleshing out, this could be a fantastic dark romance read.
The Devil’s Reighn is a wild, dark, and thrilling ride from start to finish. Rhiver Rhose has created a world full of danger, obsession, and twisted passion that completely pulled me in. The characters are raw and morally gray in the best way possible, and the chemistry between them is off-the-charts intense.
What I loved most is how the author balanced the dark themes with moments of vulnerability that made me root for the characters, even when they made questionable choices. The writing is sharp, immersive, and completely addictive—I devoured this book in one sitting and immediately wanted more.
If you love dark romance with power plays, tension-filled banter, and a devilishly charismatic antihero, this book is a must-read!
This book had great potential thanks to an intriguing storyline, but it ultimately fell short of delivering a satisfying, full-circle experience. The two main characters—twin brothers—were complete opposites. One was deeply caring and emotional, while the other came across as cold and unlikeable, which created a bit of emotional whiplash for me as a reader.
Their relationship also escalated far too quickly—from distant to intensely close in the span of a single page—which felt rushed and left me confused.
Finally, the ending just didn’t align with the character development the author had established. It felt disconnected and didn’t make sense based on who these characters were supposed to be.”
Overall this was a very fun read! While Reighn is trying to find her sister, she finds herself caught up in a workplace, taboo romance with BOTH her bosses. I dont know about you, but I love a workplace/proximity romance!
Why choose is always a fun little escape from reality (or at least my reality, I'm sure someone out there shares a bed). Along this story we discover these boys have secrets about Reighn's sister...insert dramatic pause here.
I honestly loved the extremely opposite personalities of the brothers. I think it adds validity to the "why choose" aspect because, why would you just want more of the same when you could have variety :)
This book really had a little of everything - slowburn romance, mystery, spice, drama
I enjoyed this one a lot! The story line was great, the budding romance was perfect. Character growth was fantastic! I do however feel like it’s missing a few things, I would have love to seen more of them in the end. Maybe an epilogue of where they are all at now, just a little bit of a better closure, only because I feel it ended very abruptly. And I would have really loved to have seen how a certain someone was doing, like was this someone back in their lives how was this person managing life and so on. I just feel it needs a tiny bit more than it would have been perfect!
River Rose is a new to me author, and I read this Why Choose novel in one sitting. The chemistry between FMC Reighn and the two brothers Devlin and Declan (MMCs) is good. The flow of the story is occasionally interrupted, but the book is still worth recommending. The story is full of secrets, drama, and lies. And, of course, there are plenty of steamy scenes and smut. Unfortunately, the ending is somewhat rushed and feels like something is missing. I'm dissatisfied with the ending. ⭐️ 4/5 🌶 3/5
First, I want to say thank you to Rhiver Rhose for allowing me the opportunity ARC read your baby.
This book is about a girl who moves to a city in search for her sister and answers to her possible whereabouts. There she finds herself working for a set of twin brothers who hold the very answers she's looking for. I don't want to give too much away about this book but it was such a great read. There isn't a lot of spice but the story line is well written and held my attention the entire time. It will be a highly recommended read.
I enjoyed this book! Two hot twins? Sign me up immediately. 👀🔥
Declan is the sweet, soft one who melts your heart, while Devlin has his walls up and pushes Reign away and I loved that dynamic. The plot idea itself was super interesting, but I do wish Reign had spent more time searching for her sister. It was only brought up a few times, and most of the story focused on her relationship with Declan and Devlin.
The ending also felt a little incomplete it wrapped up so abruptly that I wanted just a bit more closure.
The Devil's Reighn is a captivating dark romance that has it all - mystery, secrets, action, and spice. Reighn, a curvy goddess, is on a mission to find her missing sister, but ends up entangled with the seductive twins Devlin and Declan, who share a secret that can end everything before it begins. The twins can't resist Reighn and will do anything to keep her. Declan is playful and sweet, while Devlin is broody and a little broken. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and their banter was witty. If you're looking to live out your twin lover's dream, this is the book for you.
Reighn’s search for her missing sister, Pearl, pulls her deep into the world of the Blackwood brothers when she starts working at their strip club. The story has potential… dark secrets, morally gray men, and a heroine desperate to survive, but the execution wavers. The pacing feels uneven at times, and ultimately the story fell a little short for me. Still, the chemistry between Reighn and the Blackwoods kept the pages turning. A decent read if you like your dark romance messy and a little chaotic.
