ARC REVIEW: The Love Gallery By K.B Casimir I was so excited to connect with this author via the FB page "sapphic book lovers" and was hooked reading the description as a fun rom-com for the summer! I wanted a palette cleanse and a happy ending and it delivered!!
The writing was fun and built up the connection between the two mains effortlessly. My one dislike of the novel was the connection and backstory with other characters, wasn't as flushed out as the two mains and sometimes would give me a pause while reading but honestly a very small takeaway that didn't impact the enjoyment of the novel at all! This slow-burning late-in-life romance was easy to picture. I found myself making comparisons to the character Lucy - who's dealing with a dead-beat boyfriend and experiencing literally every frustration possible while navigating new feelings for the hot cruise ship art curator ***with a British accent, and covered in tattoos**
You equally cheer on both women as they pursue each other and try to understand the rollercoaster of emotions they're experiencing since neither has been with woman past chaste kisses.
It does come with triggers for "gambling, drinking, and domestic abuse (flashbacks and implications, not between two main characters)" but if you want to read about women choosing to live authentically and take THE PLUNGE, then this book is for you! Thank you again to K.B Casimir for giving me an ARC copy, and I can't wait to read more of your work in the future! You can follow them on IG @kbcasimir
The lovely author granted me an arc, and I'm glad she did. This was a fantastic book. The characters are well fleshed out and you can't help but root for them. I am not a cruise by any stretch of the imagination but makes me wish I was. It was nice having characters act how normal people would. I couldn't put this book down and finished it in like 3 days.
