Don’t worry about your tray table and seat back for this one. Forget what you’ve been told about the romantic notion of the airline business. It’s not like what you’ve seen in the movies. Buckle your seat belt and join Captain Kimber C. Turner for a flight over a thirty year career of ups and downs in aviation. This story of his love/hate life in airplanes will take you from laughter to livid and back again. Kimber C. Turner is a retired airline pilot with over 18,000 hours of flight time, and a former radio talk show host. Now he is out of the sky and off of the air. In his retirement, Captain Turner does some voice over work and an occasional guest spot on the radio. He also writes a book now and then.

I got this on audible and it was an easy listen. For Anyone wanting to be a pilot or thinking aviation is glamorous this will show you it’s not. Great insight into the world of courier service and freight operations at a very high level.
The author gives a great look at aviation pre-post 9/11 and how both company and government policies can do more harm than good. I hope the author writes another aviation or business book
It as a easy read, but I would have liked it to be longer with more perspective. As a pilot myself, I want to have a more in depth insight into the intricacies.
I received this book in a Firstreads giveaway program in return for an honest review. Well written, interesting because it was a subject that I knew absolutely nothing about prior to receiving this book. We do tend to to focus our attention to the glamorous side of aviation business. There is whole other side that Mr. Turner documented well. I am more into fiction than non-fiction and knowing very little about aviation, i found it difficult to rate this book.
I enjoyed reading this book and hearing this pilot's stories. I have a feeling he has a few more he could tell. I do think it could use just one more edit. But the errors weren't too distracting. It's hard to believe how a successful and growing company could be so stupid. Even a lay person could see what a mistake they were making. I will read more from this author.
