Full description
Margaret Thatcher is a Britain's first woman prime minister. She is a grocer's daughter with a science degree from oxford university, ended an extraordinary political career. In July 2011 she was named the most competent prime minister of the past thirty years in an Ipsos MORI poll.
If you wanna know her life and career in brief explanation you can choose this books since it is quite short for Margaret Thatcher's story :)
This is a wash ready. You can technically finish the book in just one sitting. I love all of the great quotes from the book but apart from it it just reads like a chronology of events. This book is also a little hard to digest if you don’t really understand the political scenario of Britain. Overall an ok read but definitely good for some of Margaret Thatchers witty quotes.
A brief overview into Thatcher's life and the main events of her premiership. It's sharp and clear, and inspires me to delve into other more detailed biographies of this formidable lady.
'Magaret Thatcher was beyond argument a great Prime Minister. Her tragedy is tgat she may be remembered less for the brilliance of her many achievements than fir the recklessness with which she later sought to impose her increasingly uncompromising views'
This was a well-written book giving basic details of Margaret Thatcher's life and career. I think it is intended as an introduction to the life and times of Baroness Thatcher for high school or first year university students, who could move on to other more detailed and in-depth biographies afterwards.
Well written book with an excellent account of the first and only female European Prime Minister. Inspirational, educational and very informative about having to overcome and face challenges in an ever changing and advancing world. A must read for any leader wanting to learn lessons from one of the best of our century. .
A brief (161p) but chatty and well-written biography, full of quotes, and memories for those of us of a certain age. As the GR blurb says: This title reveals the private woman behind the leader once dubbed the 'Iron Lady', and offers a valuable insight into the mind of one of the most successful and influential politicians of all time.
