Sometimes the greatest challenges bring the greatest rewards. Rachelle Harris might be blind, but it’s not going to keep her from helping her boss, Britton Clairbourne, stop a madman bent on destroying his company and killing him. Rachelle becomes the madman’s focus when she and Britt fall in love. It takes them both working together to survive.
I grew up in a small town in Wyoming loving the outdoors, sports, art, and reading Hardy Boys books. After reading them all at least a half dozen times, I started writing my own stories. Thirty years ago I married a wonderful, honorable man. I’m mother of five children and grandmother of six boys. I love traveling. Through my husband’s work and vacations, I have visited much of the United States, all over Eastern Europe, Canada, Mexico, China, Thailand, Cambodia and Australia, giving me many intriguing locations and experiences for my stories. I am a storyteller. I write the classic hero story because I think there’s a need for more heroes, love, and adventure in our lives. I’m not out to change the world with my writing; I’m just hoping to make your day a little better. Hope you enjoy. Alysia S. Knight
Gave it a shot....but it just wasn't for me. Editing errors were distracting and it got a bit cheesy. I had to skim when I caught myself thinking Why is the blind woman so concerned with turning a lamp on? She is home alone!
I think with a good proofreader and professional editing this could be a great story that works for many.
I love this story. I especially love the characters; in a short time the author shows us who they are. This book is completely clean, but the chemistry is amazing! Enjoy it!
I’ve read all of Alysia’s books that I could get my hands on. This one is in her typical fashion and I liked it overall. The main thing that I wasn’t a huge fan of though was how stubborn Rachelle was made out to be, because ultimately she made some stupid decisions. I’m not a huge fan of stories where the heroine is written to be “independent” and “strong” since I know I’ll have to deal with reading about her being stubborn she’ll be, just to prove a point. It is not weak to rely on somebody when you are strong enough to realize that there are some things that you can not handle on your own. There is no shame in allowing somebody to help you. I understand that, in this case, Rachelle’s blindness made her all the more determined to prove herself, but it was very irritating at times. Authors need to write stories of women who, though are strong and independent, are willing to accept when their strength has limits and the willingness of somebody else, who has the ability, to help them. I am always on the look out for just such a story. This is the only one of Alysia’s that irritates me, and this is why. Thankfully, after a certain point, Rachelle’s character toned down her stubbornness. I was really glad about that. I’ll still continue to read her books, because overall she doesn’t disappoint.
This was definitely a fast-paced romantic suspense! I couldn’t put the book down, I just had to know what would happen next. I loved the premise of the book, and while the author did an admirable job writing from the perspective of someone who is blind, there were definitely a few things that weren’t quite realistic. The book definitely needed at least another edit for grammar, but otherwise it was a fun story. If you’re looking for a good mystery, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and a clean swoony romance, this is the book for you.
This book was perfect, it had a Alpha male, but he was very protective of the one he loves. There is a Lady who was just as equal to him. Britt and Rochelle was so perfect together. The suspense was great the Romance was sweet. Just the perfect book.
