Sapphira has claimed her throne, and her armies of demons and monsters have accepted her reign. As she rises to power, she struggles to rule without Nox for guidance. When it becomes clear the gods' armies far outnumber her forces, she must travel with the fallen Seraphim to seek answers at the very source of creation. She intends to discover how to repair her father's orb and use it to bring down the gods who have oppressed her people for centuries.
No one has ever escaped the void, but Nox resolves to crawl his way out of the darkest place in existence and return to the queen he loves. He will have to face his sins and fight the vilest creatures. Even as his trials mount and his hope dwindles, he is determined to annihilate anything that stands between him and the love the creators fated to him.
Can Sapphira and Nox find each other and save their people or will everything they love burn on the altar of the gods?
Oh, what a beautiful and bittersweet feeling it is when a series so dear to your heart comes to an end. Did I want it to end? Of course not! I would have gladly stayed in this world for as long as Elaia allowed me. But was I happy with how it ended? My heart and soul were mended, and every character was given the perfect closure.
Still, don't be fooled. The road there was filled with obstacles and ravaged by the deepest, rawest emotions. I lost count of how many times my heart was broken and unbroken, how many tears I shed, both of joy and of sorrow, and how often I dreaded what might come next.
Nox & Sapphira endured so much, and words can't begin to express how deeply my heart ached for them during their time apart. Sapphira fought to push through and somehow live through her grief, while Nox clawed his way back to her with all his might. Those scenes were heartbreaking, and time after time, Elaia shattered me with her otherworldly storytelling, leaving me a puddle of emotions on the floor.
Elaia's Celestial Archers series is one you must experience by yourself. It is intricate, profound, and endlessly surprising. It will keep you on the edge of your seat, captivate you, and haunt your thoughts long after you’ve turned the final page.
Thank you, Elaia, for having me on your street team from the very beginning. It has been a true honor to follow this story, to lose myself in a world inspired by Dante’s Inferno and reimagined and brought vividly to life through your beautiful words and brilliant storytelling.
This was a 5 star ending to a 5 star series. I am still sitting here trying to gather my thoughts.
I was so immersed in this world, it was both sad but so satisfying to see the conclusion. Talk about epic world building and character depth- this series has it.
You'd think with this being the final book, everything would be winding down. NO. This is action packed and will keep you on the edge of your seat right up until the end. There are still twists and turns you didn't see coming. And when you finally get to the end- you will be SHOOK.
This series has it all from love to heartbreak, spice, angst, tension. I'm so glad I read this series and can't wait for more!
Oh how I have loved this series! It has been an emotional rollercoaster reading this. I am sad that it’s over but I am happy that I was able to see it through from the very beginning. I found my love of zombies in Zyro. The obstacles the MCs went through, the pain, the torture and after all the test they were put through to come out even stronger. I have never met such a stronger couple. The gods and creators made them and bonded them to be mates thinking they could use them only for them to find their way without their meddling. The amount of times I cried or wanted to cry… Elaia girl you broke me with this one but gave me hope in the end. And gave them the HEA they deserved.

This was such a great read. I was invested in this book the entire time. I was taken into this world and was sad to see it end. This book was action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. This is the final book in the series and it was the perfect ending.
Thank you to Elaia Crowe for allowing me to read this ARC and your first two books.
Ethereal Darkness by Elaia Crowe is the third and final installment in the Celestial Archers series. It's a dual POV, following Sapphira, as she figures out how to be queen while dealing with the grief of losing her mate, and Nox, said mate who is wondering the Void, trying to find a way back to Sapphira.
This was a very satisfying end to the series. Sapphira had to grow so much after Nox's death, and really came into her power as queen. There was such a range of emotions, from devastating heartbreak, to overwhelming joy, to pure anger and shock at times. The writing style took a little time to settle in, with some sentences feeling slightly stilted, but it never took away from how much I enjoyed the story.
✨ Spoiler Free Review: Ethereal Darkness by Elaia Crowe ✨
Ethereal Darkness picks up six months after the events of book two, and from the very first chapters, it’s clear that this finale doesn’t follow the usual “third book” formula. We step into Shaphyra’s role as Queen of the Underworld, and one of the things I continue to love about Elaia Crowe’s writing is how she seamlessly weaves in reminders of past events and characters. You never feel lost, but you also never feel like you’re being spoon-fed repetition.
This book kept me on edge the entire time. The tension doesn’t let up, and it’s not until the final stretch that you’re finally able to take a breath. The story is raw, intense, and full of twists that had me sobbing one minute and celebrating the next. Even though it’s the conclusion, you’re constantly questioning what will happen right up until the very end.
The trilogy as a whole isn’t without pacing issues, sometimes I wished for more detail in certain moments, while at others it felt a little heavy or rushed but those are small things compared to the richness of the story. This finale delivers everything: political intrigue, betrayal, sorrow, romance, and a constant thread of darkness and doom.
This series has been such an emotional ride, and this final installment wrapped it all up in a way that felt both heartbreaking and satisfying. I can’t believe it’s over, but I’m so grateful to have experienced it. If you enjoy complex dark fantasy with high stakes, celestial powers, a morally gray characters defying their given paths, and a mix of political and emotional depth, this trilogy deserves a spot on your shelf.
“I will follow you into any darkness, nightingale.”
And that’s all folks 🥹
Book 3 in the Celestial Archers series closes out Nox and Sapphira’s story. Sapphira is on her journey on understanding how to rule as Queen of the Underworld. As she is surrounded by all her closest friends, who help her as much as they can, she unveils a secret mission that just might save her people and the one she loves most. But can she actually trust the word of the god giving her this information? All Sapphira knows is she’ll do anything she can to save her people. And Him.
WOW. Just wow! First off a huge applause to Ms. Crowe for this amazing series thus far. I have laughed and cried sooo much with these characters, they feel like my own friends and family. The turmoil Sapphira and Nox endure was absolutely heartbreaking, it legit made me tear up every time he wrote his nightly note and his visits to the pool 😭 Sapphira is full of rage and sadness and no one is going to stop her from doing what she’s set out to do. She takes everything she learns in stride and tries her damndest to make the right decision at every turn. We meet “mermaids” this time and unlock new love between friends. We experience so many twists and turns I couldn’t believe it! And the FOUND FAMILY 😱 No matter what they endure our MCs do get their HEA 🖤
Now that their story is complete I am over the moon to read more about Aerith and Lexer’s story. 🐺
This was a perfect end to an incredible series!! All the loose ends were tied up in a satisfying way, even if my heart was ripped out with the characters still standing at the end! The angst, the tension, it was all there again perfectly!
Again, the depth of this world is just something to admire. I loved the dual POV and that we spent time again in all the settings we’ve traversed over the course of the series. From being with Nox in the Void, to Sapphira on her journeys and also meeting new characters to expand the world, I was enchanted all over again! The love that Nox and Sapphira have built over the last two books is rock solid and to finally see them have “that” moment, with no masks was everything we’d been waiting for!
The twists and turns of this story had me until the very end! I thought I was following and had it all figured out and then, the rug was pulled out from under me. I did NOT see the twist coming with the overarching plan and the real baddie. The moment I read it, my jaw dropped but it was PERFECTION.
I want to say thank you much to the author, Elaia Crowe for giving me the opportunity to read this ahead of official release. I’m so sad it’s over, but am looking forward to learning what happened with the shifters while we were with Sapphira, Nox and crew.
Ahh I can’t believe this series is coming to a close, I am so devastated but also happy and satisfied with the close of Sapphira and Nox’s story and I cannot wait to get the next book for Aerith and Lexer's journey to get even more story from this world. The journey of this book that both Sapphira and Nox face alone in order to come back to each other and save their people was exciting to go through, I couldn’t put this book down once I got started just to see how they would each overcome obstacles and end up back together. Their dreamscape also made for an interesting way to still show their bond continuing to deepen even when separated by death. I love an animal side kick so getting both a dog and bird character for each of them to bond to and be protected by was one of my favorite things. This story was an exciting adventure and if it was me in Sapphiras position I don’t know if I could make the sacrifices she did for her kingdom. Overall I really enjoyed this book, there were lots of crazy reveals and plot twists and a few devastating losses and uncovering of some hidden identities and subplots that had me angry right along with the characters. I truly felt very immersed in this world and I cannot wait to hopefully jump back into it in the next book soon! My rating 4.7/5!
Thanks to the author for the gifted ARC of this book, all opinions given are my own!
Even though this took me a while to finish (thanks life) I have very much enjoy this book. Ethereal darkness is the final book in such a great trilogy. This was a beautiful wrap up to an intense journey. A lot happened in this book, the good, the bad and the ugly, But it all worked out to deliver us to a happily ever after.
I love Sephira with my whole heart. She is brave, courageous, intelligent, caring, and so much more. Seeing her character development from book one to the end of book 3 is absolutely phenomenal. The same goes for Knox. Their love for one another is stronger than even death, no one, and nothing can keep them apart.
I am sad for their story to be over, but so happy it ended the way it did. If you’re reading this review, it probably means you read books wanted to. I highly recommend that you finish the series with ethereal darkness. Both Sara and Knox go on their own journeys and battle their own enemies to get to the same goal. It was an intriguing adventure full read.
I love this series, and I love how everything wrapped up in this final installment of the trilogy. It is such a unique and creative series that is unlike anything else. This book picks up six months after the events in book 2. It took me a minute to remember how book 2 ended, but then it all came flooding back. We get to experience Sapphira taking the throne and all the struggles she faces. The world building continues to be amazing and immersive, the action is still nonstop, it continues to have plot twists and turns that keep you biting your fingernails, and the emotional turbulence is still on point. I still love all the characters and their strength with everything they’ve endured. This just tied everything together and wrapped up everything so perfectly. I highly recommend this series.
Thank you, Elaia, for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your street team and experience this amazing journey from the beginning. I’m so excited for what’s to come!
I had the pleasure of receiving this as an e-ARC and voluntarily will be giving my honest review. Loved loved this series!! This book with it being the last in the series was action packed and made me cry all in one!! Had great world building! Love me some Nox!! Elaia you did it again!! Thank you!!
“Can Sapphira and Nox find each other and save their people or will everything they love burn on the altar of the gods?”
I didn’t want this series to end, but it did. I’ve finished this third book with tears in my eyes. During this journey the characters became like real people, compagnons on the road.
This is absolutely one of the best series I’ve read so far!
I would like to give it 4,5 star. I love the story, the characters and the world in the book! The only thing I have remarks on is that it sometimes goes to fast between different events. Mabye I should slow down when I read, but one wants to know what will happen. Sometimes I need to pause and reread passages to understand what is happening, because I feel like I missed something.
I’ve been totally obsessed with this series! Words can’t even capture how mind-blowing the final book was! The action, suspense, and emotional rollercoaster are totally worth it!
Loved this trilogy and highly recommend! After the ending in book 2, I was extremely nervous about this final installment, lol. But I loved how this story wrapped up, and it's bitter sweet to see it end!!! Sapphira and Nox's battle against the gods is an amazing story and definitely a must read!
