This one is told from Raven's point of view. The reader gets a better understanding about the struggles and hardships Raven Davenport had experienced. It's got me seeing him in a new pair of eyes, finally comprehending his feelings for Lexi and the issues that surrounded him, like alcohol, drugs, family, football and relationships.

I admit, during the first part of the book, I wasn't really into Raven, despite loving him in the first three books in the series. I thought he was too full of himself, too loose and too big-headed. I wasn't too sure why I wanted Lexi Thompson to fall for him in the first place. But soon I realized, I was being too judgmental of the guy. I continued reading his side of story and finally grasped who Raven really was. Broken, misunderstood, misjudged, misguided. And Lexi was the light at the end of the tunnel that made him whole, understood and accepted.

CM Doporto continues to make great stories and continues to make her readers delighted and charmed, and fall for the Raven's trap.

A Different Side. A novel I have waited so long for. And one that was worth the wait. Mr Raven Davenport. He definitely caught got me in his trap right from the beginning in The Opposing Sides. But reading all three books from his perspective widened my knowledge as to why he made the decisions which impacted him negatively, as well as how he originally felt about Lexi Thompson. Reading A Different Side opened my eyes as to how strong inner demons can be and how they're able to control your life. But Lexi was the one who could calm the voices, shut them out and make Raven focus. Raven had his struggles and he would have continued to suffer if it weren't for Lexi. The innocent, beautiful and down-to-earth tutor who led him to the right path. Who gave Raven a life to look forward to, a love to cherish and hope for the future. A Different Side is a beautiful novel. And one of my favourites. Once again, it's safe to say that anyone who reads The University Park Series is definitely going to be caught in The Ravens Trap. C. M. Doporto, one word. AMAZING.

When I first read this series from Lexi’s point of view I desperately wanted to know what was going on inside Raven’s mind. I wanted to see his side. His emotions, fears, battles all of it and this book gives us the unvarnished Raven. The Raven that is uncut and raw. The thoughts when he first sees Lexi, about himself, his demons, his struggles, his fears, his beliefs and his emotions.

We get to see how he struggles to become a better person. How he felt when his mom cut him down and how it added to his struggle to fight the demons because to him it proved them right. How that one moment when he was a child truly affected him. How Lexi became his angel and light.

All those times we thought he was being a douche and harsh towards Lexi we get to see why. Why he felt he had to. What he was going through and how he was struggling. How he thought he was doing what was best when in reality it made things worse.

We get to see his journey. How he found Lexi and tried to push her away. How she helped him see the light and want to dream. How he struggled within himself to find peace and let go. How hard it was for him not to make bad decisions. How one girl turned his world around and made him believe he was worth it. Worth the fight and belief. How love was what helped him find his way and set him free.

This point of view was pivotal in really understanding Raven. In the first three books we get Lexi’s perspective and never truly get to see any real side to Raven. He is more one dimensional. Here we see he is a real character, one with heartaches, struggles, emotions, dreams, thoughts and desires. He isn’t just about sex. we see why he turned to alcohol, sex, drugs and how he worked to change. We see that he isn’t a bad guy just one with a past that is dragging him down. A mom who although he loves her and vice versa sometimes doesn’t see she hurts him with her words. A boy who is fractured and how a girl named Lexi puts him back together and heals him by believing in him and loving him. Just her support and never leaving his side even when he did some horrible things helped.

This is where we see the true Raven. The Raven that yes at times is a complete jackass, a douchecanoe as well but also we see how hurt and alone he feels. How scared and afraid he is. How low his self esteem truly is. How words can hurt and cut more than anything else. We get to see the sides of Raven that are tender and sweet, but also precious moments that tell you his character and his struggles. We see his fight from his eyes and how he fell in love.

A great look at his falling in love and redeeming yourself and finding peace finally from Raven’s view. A wonderfully written look at how Raven sees himself, his life, and how he fell in love and found his soulmate.

I'm speechless.. I honestly have no words.. this standalone, dare I say it, is the BEST from another point of view book I have ever read in a series! I had no idea that after reading the first three books that I could have so many different feelings about the same stories. Raven had my heart since the first tutoring session and being able to relive such an amazing storyline from his emotions really helped me understand his true passions. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, but I promise once you have been caught in the Raven's trap you won't want to get out.

I'm not really counting this as "read" as I just skimmed the parts I really wanted Raven's POV from books 1-3. It was WAY too long, imho, and I frankly thought the author could have made books 1-3 stronger by having Raven's POV in them originally rather than waiting for his own book.

This book was provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review

CM Doporto completely outdid herself on this one. This story blew me away! I needed this book! Raven needed this! He needed to tell his story and what an incredible one it was!!! Even though I had read Lexi’s version of the story I still found myself choking up and crying. The way Ravens life played out would have crushed anyone Consuming him into the deepest darkest pits of his soul Lexi was able to find a light and bring it out of him I was able to feel Raven's pain radiating through the pages and I adore any author that can make me feel this emotional when I'm reading a book. She completely outdid herself on this one. This is one of my favorite books of the year and one of my favorite books period!

So excited waiting for it

But sad that it was really the same with a couple of sentences here or there to show it was Raven's view instead of Lexi's. There were very few additional info or scenes added. If you have read books 1-3, you really don't need to read 4. The differences are about 40-60 minutes of reading through out the whole book

This book is called A Different Side is written by C.M. Doporto. Raven Davenport is a college football player who is known as ‘The Raven’. After every football game, there is a party. Raven wakes up with a different girl by his side every morning. He gets them to know ‘The Ravens Trap’. Going from tutor to tutor he finds the perfect one; Lexi Thompson. He tries to hold in his emotions, his feelings, his love for her. He has to make her last. This is a romantic book. I chose to read this because I like sports, and romantic books.

Raven had slept with almost every girl. When he meets Lexi, he was embarrassed about his past. Every girl drools over him but this girl, Lexi Thompson didn’t show any emotion. Raven was a bit confused because he usually doesn’t need to work on his personality to get girls. They go for his good looks and body. They don’t care what is on the inside. But Lexi was something special, she was different. She was playing ‘hard to get’. She didn’t want someone that sleeps with every girl to get to her, she wants somebody special. Once he convinces her to go to lunch, he starts struggling to plan the perfect date. It is so tempting for him not to kiss her, he is so stressed attempting to impress her, to make her believe that he really does like her and that she is a different type of girl. He thought to himself if I want to make her last, I have to take my time and not accept any other girl. So Raven took his time, Lexi realizes that she really means something to him so she lets Raven in. The girls attack her with their bitter words; jealous. Raven changed so much, from being ‘The Raven’ to ‘Lexi’s Raven’. In college you think you’ll be free from your parents, it turns out you’re not always right. Lexi was on a leash, with her parents watching her every move she was trapped it was either family or Raven. This book fits in the romance category being in love and watching Lexi’s back from her parents.

This book was very good! I enjoyed reading every bit of it. It was the longest book I read but only took around two weeks because I couldn’t stop reading it. I was just hooked onto this book, turning page after page. I would absolutely recommend this book because it is so detailed and it feels like you are in this situation. This book controlled my emotions from being happy to mad, crying to laughing. I think this is a good book to read before college, just to know what goes around.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series and getting Raven's perspective on the entire story made a lot more sense.

The only downside is that I read this immediately after the other 3 books when I probably should have taken a break and would have enjoyed it a lot more. I skipped over all the scenes I knew and jumped to the sections that had his thoughts because it is a complete repeat of all the books. I'm not one to read a series and then immediately reread them. If I had waited - say six months or so, I would have paid more attention.

“We may have been from opposite sides, but one thing was certain: we were meant to be on the same side.”

A Different Side (University Park 4) RAVEN RAVEN RAVEN !!!!!  Extraordinary !!!  Unbelievable !!! I don't know where to start, I have been dying to read this book ever since I started University Park Series. It’s from Raven’s POV. The author has outdone herself in this one, so much was captured in this book.

Everything is much more understandable right now and it makes sense. All the dots are connected and blanks are filled. I had so many questions about Raven’s behaviour in previous books, but after reading this one everything is settled, which I am really grateful for. Its like getting a closure. I love Raven much more now after knowing what was going on in his head… I mean how could you not ?

“I’m sorry that I nearly drank myself to death. That I was with those girls. That I was at Jared’s house when you asked me to never go there again. I’m sorry that I allowed your mom to get to me. That I let her convince me that I wasn’t good enough for you. But you have to understand, it’s not easy for me. When I look at you,” I lifted her chin, aligning our eyes, “I see this innocent and perfect woman that deserves a man that’s just as perfect. One that isn’t broken and shattered. A man without a tarnished past and with a bright future. And when I look at myself, I know I’m not that man.”

Ohhhh RAVEN !!!! Knowing the torment he went through and the demons he was fighting within was pure agony. He didn't want that life, yet somehow he was dragged in it. I was so touched by his vulnerability. Knowing whats going on in his head gave clarity to the decisions he made. I NEVER NEVER want to get out of "Raven’s trap".

To know Raven’s story, his struggles and constant battle with the demons within; Read "A Different Side by C.M Doporto" !!!!!

I am having withdrawals.... this book left me speechless…

I wouldn't recommend this as a stand alone. I feel that to get the best understanding of University Park Series, all four books should be read in order.

                                              5 WINNING STARS !!!!!!

P.S : I really really wanted to STAB Jared and Macy !

Get caught up in the Raven's Trap all over again. Just when you thought it was over, CM Doporto takes us back to PHU and gives us a look at Raven and Lexi's romance from Raven's perspective. Ever wonder why Raven did the things he did? Why he made the decisions he made? What was going on in that gorgeous head of his when he played hot and cold with Lexi? Well here's your chance.

You've heard Lexi's side of the story, now come join us and read Raven's.

Bad boy football player meets good girl who sets his world on its end. Lexi is everything Raven wants and needs in his life. He knows it. His friends know it. His family knows it. She is the best thing that has ever happened in his life. Yet his demons won't shut up. Not matter how good she is for him, he just never sees himself as being good enough for her. At times the darkness within him seems to overwhelm all common sense, especially when it comes to his relationship with Lexi.

After years of being a good dutiful daughter and doing everything her parents demanded of her, sweet, innocent Lexi is ready to walk on the wild side. And she knows exactly who she wants to take that walk with. Engaged to the perfect man but fascinated by the boy she should stay away from, Lexi is ready to put it all on the line and be the next and hopefully last woman caught in the Raven's Trap.

I've read all the previous books several times, so I am scarily familiar with the characters and the story line. Yet from the moment I began to read A Different Side and started seeing the same stances but through Raven's eyes, it was like reading an entirely new, never before read, book. I laughed, I screamed, and yes, I even cried. I achieved a whole new level of understanding on what drove Raven that touched a part of me very few books touch.

Get through the first chapter and there's nothing you'll want more than to get caught up in the Raven Trap all over again.

This book can be read as a standalone, I don't know that I would recommend reading it this way though. The idea behind reading the series from Raven's point of view is to garner more sympathy for him, an inside look at what he has experienced and the inner demons that help drag him down... however, I felt as though the information that led to me feeling even a little bit sympathetic to his cause came too little too late. Perhaps I would have warmed to The Raven a little earlier if I had read the original books in the series from Lexi's POV first, at least then I would have had the opportunity to see him through Lexi's rose tinted glasses.

Mostly I felt that Ravens ego was bigger than he was. Every female he came in to contact with clearly wanted him.. or at least that's the way he felt, there was a few scenes were I'm pretty certain the female was just being polite, but he assumed she was after more.. The constant referral to the ravens trap really started to grate on me... especially when used in reference to Lexi, the girl he swore he was falling for... treating it like it was some kind of a game... the guy doesn't respect himself let alone the girls he is with, so I'm not sure how I was supposed to respect him. To be honest this guy slept with so many people I'm actually struggling to figure out why/how the girls found him attractive. #Manwhore

I may not have loved The Raven, I may not even have liked him at various points, I did genuinely enjoy the sweeter moments of his relationship with Lexi. There are some points in the book that I felt should have been elaborated on a little more, but since this is a retelling I suppose I cant expect everything that needs to be resolved featured in this version of events, so if I want those I'll need to read from Lexi's POV.
Raven and Lexi's story intrigued me enough to keep reading til the end, but if I'm being honest I was happy to put the book down mid chapter and leave it for several hours.

CM Doporto is another new author to me, and I love her writing! A Different Side simply BLEW ME AWAY! I LOVED it and couldn't get enough!

Park Hill University's star quarterback, Raven Davenport, seems to have it all on the outside; big talent on the football field, super sexy, and can get any girl he wants. On the inside he's a hot mess, with demons talking in his ear constantly. His first real female challenged comes in the form of good girl Lexi Thompson as she's having none of him except to tutor him to better grades. Raven accepts the challenge she presents, but somewhere along the way, he develops real feelings for her. Will Raven learn to deal with his inner demons so he can prove to Lexi she's the one before he destroys them both?

HOLY HELL BATMAN! This book is super intense! CM Doporto did a brilliant job in writing Raven's POV. It took the intensity up several notches seeing into his head. I seriously physically felt the gut wrenching pain when the demons took over Raven's head, and it floored me. The character development was spot on, and the story line is fantastic while flowing perfectly. I found myself on more than one occasion wanting to throat punch Raven, even though his pain was tangible and radiated off my kindle. But I never stopped cheering for him, because he isn't a bad guy, just a tortured soul that makes bad choices when the voices took over. He and Lexi are characters that will stay with me for a very long time to come, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I fell in love with this author's writing a few years ago, when I read a short story of hers. Right then, at that moment, I knew that this author will go places because her writing was simply amazing. I loved the University Park series, since book one, but I've always felt closer and understood Lexi a lot more than I did Raven. When Raven made some questionable decisions, I couldn't help but like him a little less, only because I just didn't understand his motives and reasoning. But this book was a game-changer. Now, now I understand Raven a hell of a lot more. I feel more closer to his character, which I really appreciated. More than that, I can honestly say I love his character more than I originally did, and I already loved Raven and was caught in his trap before I read this.

Raven and Lexi's love story is amazing, and this book just further shows you that. I feel like their story is complete now, even though the series technically ended in the third book. I felt like I was missing something from this series and it seems it was this book. I have closure, as weird as that sounds. I really enjoyed this book and I think fans of this series should definitely read this book! And if you haven't read this series yet, what are you waiting for?! Grab book one and get caught in the Raven's Trap. It's a wonderful place to be.

Fantastic Series! I have read this story from the beginning and fell hard into Raven’s Trap. Lexi Thompson and Raven Davenport’s Love is a Kind of love that’s truly unstoppable. Books 1-3 are from Lexi’s Pov, but Doporto now brings you His Side, A Different Side. I absolutely Loved it. It completed the whole story Line.
Raven’s Past is everyone’s worse nightmare and has pushed him into a Life of drugs, girls, and partying to try to forget everything. As PHU’S star QB that everyone wants it’s perfect for his lifestyle until she walks in to his life?
Lexi is a sheltered girl. Still a virgin, parents running her life and a fiancé that has no emotions. She is requested to tutor the star QB and starts to question everything as she starts falling into his trap, but what she doesn’t know is she is creating her own trap.
Will Raven be able to take hold of his demons or will they destroy everything that is in his future?
Raven POV brings you the complete story. Through his eyes you really get to see what he is truly going through. You get to feel his emotions that will have you crying screaming and laughing all at the same time. His struggles are real. Come join us on the new journey he takes you on. You won’t be disappointed.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC for A Different Side and I have to say that Raven’s point of view did not disappoint! The University Park Series was a series I have read multiple times and I was definitely caught in the Ravens Trap, I loved Lexi’s strength and independent personality and was thrilled to read their love story.
Raven is such a sweet-hearted person who has girls obsessing over him and I loved reading about him falling for Lexi, the struggles he endured and tortured himself over by making wrong choices and always realizing too late. Lexi made Raven want to be a better person and make the right choices whereas Raven let Lexi explore more freedom and to be released from her parents controlling rules and structure. Together they were perfect….. A Raven and a Dove.
Ravens point of view had me turning page after page, understanding where some of his decisions came from and what was going on inside his head. I have to say I’m so glad my favorite scenes again played a part in this book.
I can see that I will be re-reading this over and over again!! Fantastic book, fantastic series, I’m so glad I have read Ravens point of view.

Amazing

I absolutely love A Different side. I love Raven story.
Raven Davenport has definitely caught my attention. I absolutely love the first three booksI was so glad I got to read a different side in Raven point of view. I absolutely love Raven and Lexi even more now. I love how Raven wanted to be a better man for Lexi to fall in love with. I Feel even in more Love with Raven. I love that Raven was fighting to be the man that he wants to be. Raven side of the story makes you think he has demons and make you think that he lets the demons control him.I love how Raven was with Lexi. I love how Raven and Lexi have this instant connection with each other. I love how Raven felt about Lexi I also loved How Raven and Lexi were made for each other. I Felt a Connection with Raven and Lexi
One I started reading A Different Side I was hooked. I definitely recommend that everyone should read A Different side you won't be disappointed. Once you started reading it you won't want to stop. This Far best book I have ever read this year. I can't wait to read more from CM. Doporto

A Different Side is written in Ravens POV, I have not read the other books which are in Lexi's POV.
I had a love/hate relationship with The Raven. In this version you get to get inside of Raven the demons within him. Raven has a big ego women flaunt themselves at him, at least that is how he saw it. He slept around a lot.. I probably should have read the other books first The University Park series from Lexie's point of view, so I had a better idea and understood more of her story. Raven is struggling with his inner demons, he wants Lexi but feel he is not good enough for he. Wants to be the man she deserves but can he?
I enjoyed the book but I do regret not reading the others first. I think it will make for a better read at least for me. I do mind mind reading books in different POVs so I can say I will go back and read them all. I think CM Doporto did an excellent job in writing this in Ravens POV, I
I was gifted this book for an honest review I feel I could have had a better understand if I had read them all even though you can read this as a Standalone.

I received a ARC from the author in exchange for a honest review.
4* read.
If your a reader of this series like me you'll have been eagerly waiting for this book from Raven's POV, or you'll have been on the fence and not sure what to expect. I have to say I loved this addition to the series. Seeing his prospective gave me a better insight into everything that happened and why he made certain decisions. You got a clear sight into his head and it made this whole story from start to finish as a package so much more with that deeper side of his story. It played with my emotions as the other's did too, but I'm so glad this author wrote Ravens side as it helped fill in some of the missing points from the other books where you only got Lexi's side. Another emotional rollercoaster of a read but so worth it.
Great addition to this series and I loved having this extra insight into their story. You can read this as a standalone but in my opinion you really should read the other books first to enjoy this more.

The Raven Trap is BACK!

Normally I stray from reading a book that is a re-tell in a different POV. *I mean I haven’t read Grey because of it being Fifty in the eyes of Christian*

However, Raven Davenport has my attention like no other! I NEEDED to read this book! I needed to live Opposing Sides: Book 1 from Raven’s POV, to feel HIS emotions, just as I felt Lexi’s in Book 1. I HAD to know how, and why, from him!

CM Doporto did a FANTASTIC job on this! She drew out the emotions and made me understand the hows and whys that are normally left when a book is only told from 1 POV. – If you think you were sucked into the Raven’s Trap just from Lexi’s POV, just wait until you live it from The Raven himself!

AMAZING READ!! Must have more from CM, she is a fantastic writer!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!!! Hopefully there is more Raven in the future, if not I’m excited to see the next journey that CM takes me on! I will be standing at the front of the line for the next release!!!

Wow. CM Doporto completely outdid herself on this one. At first, I was hesitant to read the book since I feared that the author would not be able to capture Raven full character. But just when I didn’t think it was possible, CM Doporto proved me wrong!

This book enable me to fall in love once more with Raven and Lexie’s story. Like I said I was a bit hesitant to read Raven’s point of view but I can tell you that I am happy I did. It provided some closure and perspective explaining what was happening inside Raven’s world. It also provided a deeper look at Raven’s character. If you thought you knew Raven before than you’re in for a treat!

You can read this as a standalone or with the University Park series. Mind you, the University Park series is told by Lexi’s point of view. I however, will recommend you read all 4 books to really get a feel of the characters.

A Different Side is a retelling of the first three books in the University Park series from Raven's perspective. While I found it to be just as good as the first three books, I wish I would have had a waiting period before reading it. A Different Side gives Raven's side of the story, but the dialog is very similar with little from Raven's point of view. It felt like I was just reading the first books again. I think if I had waited a month or two I would have been different. The story was still fresh on my mind.

That being said, I finished it and enjoyed it, even with reading them all together! Raven's story is much juicier than Lexi thought. Talk about multiple addictions. Raven is more than meets the eye; between drugs and girls, I'm not sure how he ended up with Lexi. Like I said in my previous reviews, this story is a rollercoaster ride!

Loved Ravens POV

I always have mixed feelings about the other characters POV as it covers a lot of the same thing but I wasn't disappointed in Ravens. The author provided an insight to Raven and his internal struggles, his flaws and how he handled them. I was thoroughly missed at Raven for his actions because he seems to choose the easy way out every time life got hard but I'm happy to see the HEA with the couple. I know that it may seem easy to just say think positive and move forward but everyone has demons they are always battling. Some are always lingering and harder than others to ignore. Everyone deals with them differently. The author provides the readers ways of working around their demons. Some may need counseling as Raven did in order to learn self control. It was a good read and well worth the time. Koodos to Ms. Doporto.

What a way to end a series! Raven's side was so well written and I couldn't put it down because I really wanted to know what Raven's thoughts were about through the whole University Park Series!

Naughty boy who is every girls book boyfriend, with so much going on in his head I wouldn't have been able to think straight.

Find out about those demons that haunt our beloved Raven and why he turned into a man whore, drug addict and alcoholic, until he met his future.

I loved how this was written and how everything fell into place throughout the first three books that were from Lexi's side.

I can't wait to read more from this talented woman who can make us swoon for the bad boys.

The wait is FINALLY OVER!!

When I first read The University Park Series, I instantly fell in love with Raven. Well more like I fell into the Raven’s Trap. **Swooning**

In the first three books, we are given Lexi’s POV. But now in A Different Side, we get to see inside of Raven’s head and what he was thinking.

Now, I can say my life is officially complete. LOL! Seeing everything in Raven’s POV was amazing! Everything now makes complete sense.

Even though this book is considered a Standalone. I would recommend you read 1-3 first. That way you get an idea of what Lexi is thinking first. But as a Standalone, the book contains almost everything from the other three.

I usually don't care for the male POV's but it was nice for this series because at times Raven was so closed off. Hearing his side of certain situations made me still want to punch him but not as much. His heart is so big, he just needed someone to hold his hand and lead the way.

A different side

Ravens POV was a little difficult for me to get into. I enjoyed his perspective in the start of their relationship but after that the scenes were hit or miss on if they spoke to me. While it was strongly hinted at raven cheating on Lexi I didn’t really want to read about it from his POV. Towards the end of the last book I started skipping scenes because hey weren’t drawing me in at all. Not sure if I just read this one too close to reading the other three books but I think I just didn’t connect to ravens inter dialogue much. It was sad because I enjoyed the other three books a lot.
