Hello and welcome to my website!

I am Misty Vixen (not my real name obviously), and I imagine that if you’re reading this, you want to know a bit more about me.

In the beginning (late 2014), I was an erotica author. I wrote about sex, specifically about human men banging hot inhuman women. Monster girls, alien ladies, paranormal babes. It was a lot of fun, but as the years went on, I realized that I was actually striving to be a harem author. This didn’t truly occur to me until late 2019-early 2020. Once the realization fully hit, I began doing research on what it meant to be a harem author. I’m kind of a slow learner, so it’s taken me a bit to figure it all out.

That being said, I’m now a harem author!

Just about everything I write nowadays is harem fiction: one man in loving, romantic, highly sexual relationships with several women. Nowadays, I tend to write more human on human stuff, but I still have a lot of non-human ladies in mind for the future, so if that’s your thing then stick around.

I’d say beyond writing harems, I tend to have themes that I always explore in my fiction, and they encompass things like trust, communication, respect, honesty, dealing with emotional problems in a mature way…basically I like writing about functional and healthy relationships. Not every relationship is perfect, but I don’t really do drama unless the story actually calls for it. In total honesty, I hate drama. I hate people lying to each other and I hate needless rom-com BS plots that could have been solved by two characters having a two minute conversation.

I enjoyed this series quite a bit, and this book wrapped it up nicely.

There is considerable relationship issues to navigate, as 4 women work out with the MC how to share and how to take care of each other. It's very real, considering the 4 "cougars" in this story have enough life experience to know that a harem isn't just a happy-go-lucky thing that you fall in to. It requires everyone working towards a shared goal. Honestly, if the story didn't go heavy into the issues, it wouldn't have felt as real.

As usual, there are some pretty good sex scenes in the book, something the author shows real talent with.

This book, in finishing the Lakeside Cougars trilogy, is a masterful piece of writing. It brings together a young and insightful young man and five women, four of whom are older. I’d say 2 are genuine cougars, and the other two just want to be loved. The one woman close in age is perhaps too wild to be tied down.

The author states in her About Me that: “… I tend to emphasize things like trust, respect, vulnerability, and communication.” In this book and series, the author delivers on this objective.

At almost 300 pages, five direct relationships between our man Atticus and the five women, plus interrelationships between the women, it’s a huge effort to bring this story into a safe landing. And the author does it masterfully.

The women are at different ages and stages, are smart and capable and want their freedom, but also want love, connection and community. And none want the obligations of a full time husband.

I have about 3 pages of highlights from this book. Great insights into the human condition. They really make you think about what you want, and what you need for a rewarding life. It also highlights the need for deep-seated intimate connections. There are flavours for everyone in this book and series.

This series is definitely erotic, but there’s a real story here of love, connection and openness. And there’s sorrow over lost relationships. At least three of the women have had failed marriages, some longterm. The scars are still there, but the healing is started and takes hold.

5 Wonderful Stars. Before long, I intend to read the series again from start to finish. At over 1,100 pages, it’s a story to savour, enjoy and think critically of your own life, what you want, and what you want for others.

Apologies, I just can’t resist three pieces of dialogue:

“… You handed me... a piece of my soul back, Atticus. You repaired something I didn’t even realize was broken. I don’t know how to repay that.”

“ Don’t repay it,” he said, then yawned. “Don’t worry about repaying it. I didn’t do it to be repaid. I did it because I love you. You’ll do amazing things for me because you love me, too. Let that be enough.”

And perhaps the overriding thought is:

“… I think the meaning to life is helping other people, however you can, in that it gives your life meaning.”

The author in this series shows one way to give meaning to your life and to others. I’m going to endeavour to act on these insights every day.

Love This Series!

This series has the most fleshed out and well rounded characters of any harem story I’ve ever read! Getting that conclusion with Colleen just hit perfectly. I also thought the story and inclusion of Vetra was really well done. Overall, this one my favorite series and I highly recommend some of ‘Misty Vixen’s’ other books!

I admit, the title alone makes these books easy to dismiss out of hand. I've been reading more harem/romance books lately as they get recommended to me, and the first one in this series impressed me. Now I've read all three here, and the writing is undeniably good. Yes, there's lots of sex, as you'd expect, and those scenes are done well.

What impressed me about these books was that the characters have a lot of depth and emotional maturity. Yes, it's really unlikely one 25 year old would hook up with 4 amazingly sexy women who are older than he is, and all end up being ok with sharing him (plus one woman his own age), but the way it's set up really kind of works. Everyone has their own interests, their own motivations, and reasons why this setup works for them. They also have assorted flaws and aren't just running around sleeping with each other all the time.

I enjoyed these books, and this was a good wrap to the series. There's certainly room for more stories, but it's not a bad place to end. I expect I'll be reading more from this author off and on in the future.

Love this Series!

This is an emotionally satisfying series, watching Atticus and the women in this exceedingly complex relationship willingly and honestly work through their issues to make things work. Wow, just wow. Wonderful novel. I'm looking forward to the next one.

beautiful

Really enjoyed this series. As I was doing life my mind kept going back to these characters and world.

Just prefer MC to be a bit more.. manly and confident in himself. But overall loved each character and story is sweet.

Excellent series, hard to put down

Very good combination of characters with a lot of different histories and emotions. All were blended together with skill. Made it easy to relate to.
