Coco es una niña que vive sola en una mansión con la única compañia de su gato Kuro. Un día Kuro se pierde y al regresar a casa es distinto, tiene una boca enorme llena de dientes afilados y aparenta ya no tener ojos. Coco se encarga de todas las labores domesticas sola, así como de hacer la compra. Las personas del pueblo se mantienen cautelosamente alejadas de ella, prácticamente sólo el doctor del pueblo y la maestra visitan a Coco en su casa. Algo extraño y oscuro parece habitar en este lugar, los pobladores tienen una regla de oro: jamás te salgas del camino o los montruos te podrían atrapar.
La edición es maravillosa, ya que la mitad de la obra está a color y esto es algo que se agradece y, la vuelve aún más disfrutable. Sumamente recomendable.

This will be a very short review as I don't want to say too much about this book, I want people to go in this one without much knowledge of what is going on.

Since this manga is pretty much like Gakkou Gurashi in many ways. It was really fun when I realised that.

We have various characters that will pop up. Though there are 2 characters you will see the most. Kuro and Coco. Kuro is the kitten (and one very devilish one (though he will do anything to protect his little mistress), this isn't a spoiler just look at that cover) and Coco is the little girl living in a huge mansion all the way from the village. She is a pretty happy kid despite what happened in her life (which is still shrouded in mystery).

At times it will seem like a slice of life with happy moments between Coco and Kuro, but don't be fooled. :P

I loved that the author added chapters that feature a time skip near the end, though it didn't lessen the questions I had, if anything I had more questions.

The art is stunning. It was a fun surprise to find out that half of the manga was in colour. I do wonder why the rest is suddenly black and white.

While I would love to go into more details I will just leave it at this. I will be buying the other 2 books, I can't wait to see how this story continues. I want to know more about this world, about Kuro, about Coco.

Highly recommended!

LOVE LOVED IT!

Let's start by saying half of it is full colored and the art and color palette are just perfect for the atmosphere.
This is a sort of horrorish manga centered around a village full of creepy creatures that live outside the main path. Apparently Coco, our little girl who lives alone in a big villa with her cat Kuro, can't see them, but Kuro keeps her safe no matter what.

There's this mystery that surrounds this village that is super intriguing and I really hope that in the next two volumes it's explained what happened.
So far it's very interesting and creepy, making it an amazing start and first volume.

I have to say that Somato's art is one of my favorite. I just love the style!

En Kuro conocemos la historia de Coco, una niña adorable que vive sola en una enorme mansión junto a un gato negro llamado Kuro. Página tras página asistimos a la vida diaria de nuestra protagonista, en su divertida rutina que le sirve para escribir y crear historias. Bajo estos actos de la vida diaria, vamos comprobando poco a poco como algo extraño ocurre en este pueblo de apariencia normal.

Con un excelente ritmo narrativo que incluye diversos flashbacks, Somato empieza a desarrollar con mucho acierto y sencillez tanto su mundo como sus personajes. Pronto empezamos a intuir que algo traspasa la barrera de la inocencia que rodea a Coco y Kuro. En tan solo unas viñetas comprenderemos que algo oscuro rodea a toda esta historia con aire de slice of life, pero que para nada lo es. Si estáis pensando en La pequeña forastera: Siúil, a Rún Vol. 1 como yo nada más terminar su lectura, diría que el tono es algo similar aunque con menos reminiscencias a un cuento tradicional.

La principal pecurialidad de este Kuro es que sus capítulos serializados son a todo color. Las viñetas y diseños de Somato son llamativos, vistosos y delicados. Los mapas y edificios son fascinantemente detallados y atractivos. Su uso del color en los escenarios es particularmente llamativo y precioso, otorgándole ese aire lúgubre en el momento oportuno. Los diseños tanto de personajes como criaturas transmiten esa inocencia tenebrosa. Todo encaja con el sentido de la obra.

Espero que el puzle de Somato empiece a encajar poco a poco, que este mundo de luces y sombras cobre sentido, y que obtengamos buenas respuestas al particular misterio de Kuro, ya que solo restan dos volúmenes.

Es la historia de una niña, Coco, que vive con su querida mascota en una mansión, un gato negro llamado Kuro. Sin embargo, en los alrededores del pueblo viven criaturas extrañas y la gente tiene miedo a salir de los caminos, incluso a acercarse a Coco y su gatito. Una historia siniestra con muchos secretos. Poco a poco se nos irán mostrando los sucesos extraños que ocurren en la mansión y en el día a día de nuestros protagonistas.

Dibujo monísimo, y en color más. La historia... al principio son como historias cortas o anécdotas de 1 o 2 páginas. Pasada la mitad empieza a entrad en materia

Patrząc się na okładkę pierwszego i drugiego tomu Kuro, można pomyśleć, że to słodziutka historia o małej dziewczynce z dużymi oczami i jej dziwnym, choć równie słodziutkim koteczkiem. Po przeczytaniu rzekłbym, że to jest dość straszna rzecz.
Jak kiedyś wspominałem w poprzednich artykułach, za horrorem jako gatunkiem zdecydowanie przepadam - i to w przeróżnych mediach. Najwięcej jednak przyjemności mam z zapoznawania się z takimi utworami, które pochodzą z krajów dalekiego wschodu. Ciężki, bądź niepokojący klimat, bez występowania wymyślnych potworów, jest czymś, co ja lubię najbardziej.
Główną bohaterką tej serii jest mała dziewczynka Koko, która mieszka samotnie w wielkim domu z równie słusznych rozmiarów ogrodem, razem ze swoim ukochanym kotkiem Kuro, co po japońsku oznacza czarny lub ciemny. Mieszka w nim sama, nie do końca wiemy co stało się z jej rodzicami. Mimo że ludzie z jej małej miejscowości nie chcą mieć z nią nic do czynienia(oczywiście nie wiemy czemu), Koko wcale to nie przeszkadza. Kontakty z nauczycielką i jej córką, jej jedyną przyjaciółką Milk oraz jedynym lekarzem w jej miejscowości w zupełności wydają się jej wystarczać. W jej ogrodzie znajduje się szklarnia, w której rosną przepiękne białe kwiaty, po które miesiąc w miesiąc przychodzi lekarz, aby wytworzyć, jak sam mówi, farbę oraz szczepionki.

Komiks składa się z wielu krótkich wątków dotyczących kotka Kuro. Koko opisuje w nich jak Kuro się bawi, co robi całe dnie czy też wymyśla przeróżne historyjki, w których Kuro jest bohaterem. Jadnak to, co wymyśla dziewczynka, nie jest fikcją literacką: Koko naprawdę chroni dziewczynkę. Czy jednak jego moc nie jest czymś niebezpiecznym dla samej Koko? Dlaczego, choć dziewczynka pamięta swoich rodziców, to ich nigdy przy niej nie ma? I czemu osoby, które czasem przybywają do posiadłości, nie widzą w Kuro słodkiego kociaczka, a boją się go? Jest tyle pytań, a odpowiedzi tak mało. Trudno to wszystko zrozumieć jak jest się małą dziewczynką.

Review of the series entire. In a big manor in a small town, a girl lives alone with her black cat - but Kuro is no typical cat. The bulk of this series is in full color, and many early panels are cute-but-uncanny mini stories; plot builds gradually, expanding the world and filling in the backstory. File this between Girl from the Other Side and the original Professor Layton trilogy: cute, cozy, antiquated; spooky/spoopy and gently sad. I'm less impressed by the ending, which comes quickly and doesn't manage to maintain the magic of the rest of the series. But I really enjoy this: a little gem of a series with a great premise and a lovely atmosphere.

I'm really not sure how to feel about this story. On the one hand, the premise is really interesting- I don't want to spoil too much since that is such a fantastic part of this story but Coco is living with her "cat" Kuro (and the mystery/plot surrounding their situation). On the other hand, there is some red-flaggy panels- like this whole story would have probably been a 3 or 4/5 if not for those panels??? just some weird choices for angles on the girls. The author seems to have stopped doing it as the story continues- but still just a really weird choice.

Kuro jest uroczy i to słodkie jak chroni Koko
Jestem ciekawa o co chodzi z tymi ścieżkami, wypadkiem, rodzicami Koko i co się stało, że nie widzi potworów (znaczy pewnie dlatego, że nie dostała tego zastrzyku, ale dlaczego nie dostała? O ile o to tu chodzi)
Podoba mi się, że teraźniejszość jest w kolorze, a przeszłość jest czarno-biała, uważam że to bardzo fajny zabieg
Ogólnie to może być spoko rozrywką i idealną odskocznią od innych serii, ale zobaczymy co będzie dalej

Diese dreiteilige Manga-Reihe habe ich von meiner Arbeitskollegin ausgeliehen bekommen. Die Zeichnungen sind sehr süß und ich wusste - und weiß auch ehrlich gesagt jetzt noch nicht, auch nachdem ich Band 1 gelesen habe - worum es geht. Vielleicht hilft mir Band 2 auf die Sprünge. Es ist auf jeden Fall blutiger als ich dachte :D

Spodziewałam się, że poczuję jakiś sentyment, bo jednak pierwszy raz czytałam tę historię gdzieś w podstawówce. No ale niestety nie. Kompletnie nic z niej nie pamiętałam i nie znalazłam też żadnych cieplejszych uczuć. Pierwszy tom zostawił mnie że znużeniem. Nie jestem zainteresowana historią, ani klimatem, a urocze elementy szybko mi się znudziły.

Wouah quelle belle découverte ! J'ai adoré cette dualité de mignonnerie dans les graphismes (que j'aime énormément) et de sombre avec cette histoire de monstres qui rôdent (et ils font vraiment froid dans le dos faut le reconnaître). Ce petit chat/monstre semble protéger Coco, bien qu'il semble affilié aux monstres, ce qui me donne très envie de découvrir la suite pour en apprendre plus sur Kuro.

De l'innocence, on plonge vite dans une ambiance angoissante en crescendo. Une super introduction mi-couleur, mi-noir et blanc.

J'avais peur en lisant les premières pages que le manga soit un réchauffé du concept de "La gameuse et son chat", or on sort assez vite de ce chemin -un peu comme les personnages finalement-.

Tolle Mischung aus süßen Zeichnungen und surrealen Horror Elementen. Zwischenzeitlich habe ich mich gefragt, wie wohl Pippi Langstrumpf im Horror Genre aussehen würde. Etwas verwirrend fand ich jedoch, dass es keine richtige zusammenhängende Geschichte zu geben scheint, sondern es immer nur eine Momentaufnahme nach der anderen ist.

Esto si que no lo esperaba para nada. Es una historia rara, de hecho es como si no pasase nada pero estas en constante peligro de que algo va a ocurrir horrible. Me intriga mucho la historia que encierra este manga y seguiré con el 2
