***Imprisoned is a very short prequel to Tortured, book one of the Tortured Soul Series.***
Kate Givans enjoys stories with complicated characters, difficult real life struggles, and well-deserved happily ever afters. When not writing, you’ll find her curled up with a book, listening to the rain, wrangling up her five children, drowning in coffee, or binging on her favorite television shows.

Tortured was an emotion packed book about loss, grief and healing. We had some idea of what Josh went through in the time before he met Willow, but only the painful glimpses he allowed to break free. Imprisoned fills in those gaps perfectly. Not only do you get to feel the pain more thoroughly but you understand more of what is going on in his head. There is pain, regret, anger and confusion swirling around until all that's left is a shell of what used to be. I just felt more connected with him after knowing this part of his dark past. I love Kate's fluid style and the path this story has taken so far. Can't wait for book 2!
Waking up to the news that your bestfriend is dead because of you is definitely painful and guilt-eating. Josh is having a hard time dealing with it and could never move on. This short novella details the heartbreaking pain & suffering Josh had to endure while imprisoned by guilt, memories & death.
This is such an emotional read. Kate Givans effectively described the feeling of having survivor's guilt. Can't wait to read more!!
Poor Josh!! No wonder he is suffering with so much anxiety and depression following the death of his friend Brad. It is heart breaking. This book gives you a more in depth look at what Josh is thinking and feeling in the days following his accident before he met Willow. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next. 3.5 Stars

REVIEW New to me author
Let me start by saying this is a very short book but it packs a very powerful and emotional punch. Drinking and driving does not mix and when you lose your best friend well hell in itself begins to wreck havoc on your very soul.
Josh learns a very hard lesson in life the hard way. When he awakens in the hospital its obvious by the look on his familys face that his life will be turned upside down.
Can Josh ever find life again? What of his soul? Can he forgive himself?
Make sure to have your tissues as this story just rips at your heart. I felt the characters anquish down to my very core. The author has done an excellent job with this story.
Well the book leaves us with a cliffhanger and although I don't like them I did love the book and the story.
I was gifted a copy of this book for my honest review. Kate Givans
