Interracial romantic suspense with a bit of faith weaved in.

Rafa, Ale and Ric are the Santiago brothers . Each one with a strong character. My favorite story is that Ale & Audrey. Easy read both romantic and thrills.
So while on vacation I am reading books I downloaded on my Kindle, some years ago. Today’s review is of The Santiago Brothers (Bundle Books 1-3). Pros: Easy read. (Finished in one day at the beach). Interracial romance. Con: That each brother had a troubled teen years was constantly, constantly mentioned. I got it. They were not choir boys even though their mother seems lovely. Con: It is the same story. Undercover LEO saves a woman and society from bad people, connects with the woman for HEA and reconnects with his long suffering mother. Con: The women are headstrong and reckless and persist on doing things their way despite the reader knowing it will cause additional issues. Conflict based upon a woman who refuses to listen and places not only her life but others in danger but who is saved numerous times by the brooding LEO. Sigh. Query: Not sure how this is a Christian romance other than mom and the heroine in Alejandro goes to church and the heroine in Rafael used to attend church before her rich handsome upper middle class boyfriend dumped her. Sigh. Since I can’t give half ratings, it drops from a 2.5 to a 2.
As the author pointed out she started the series after a idea came up during a Christian authors group. I appreciate the situations of each brother and their feelings toward religion. It sure is easy to feel like God let you down sometimes. I like the mystery aspect. The small romance is the happy ending for all the bad each couple experianced. A good purchase.
I really liked the story lines for this series of books. Who doesn't love a good undercover/cop story? And I loved the heroines. Each were honorable, even though they tended to conform quickly.
No, it was the men I didn't like, which is unfortunate since the books are named after them. I think this is where an editor would have helped. All the men "smirked" a LOT. I don't think that the author knows what that word means. Smirk: to smile in an irritatingly smug, conceited, or silly way. Does that sound like a hero to you? Me neither.
Some of the Spanish was wrong (adjective for a man when describing a woman). And I thought the family was Puerto Rican? If so, why does Mama keep serving Mexican food?
And, lastly, in Ricardo, the female lead calling her love "Roberto". Silly mistake that a good editor would have caught.
I read the bundle and each story was really enjoyable. It is Christian Romance/Suspense so it was really clean and refreshing. The action was a nice second story but didn't overshadow the romance. There must be a second series that feature the brothers as secondary characters and I will definitely be adding those to my TBR.
The Santiago brothers were hot, irresistible, and did I mention hot! I loved this book because sometimes (very rarely) I like a good fall in love story without page after page of sex. And that's what you get with Rafa, Ale, and Ric!
Usually not a fan of sequels or series, even if stand alones but...Enjoyed the series with the Santiago brothers and their journeys through matters of faith, love, and justice. Ricardo was my favourite brother, then Rafael. wasn't quite taken by Alejandro and Audrey's story.
