USA TODAY BESTSELLER! When Shannon is called to the mall to work as a sexy elf, her billionaire boyfriend, Declan, gets roped into playing Santa. The mall mommies start tweeting pictures, and soon everyone is crashing the mall to have a seat on Santa's lap.
**This rom com short story (67 pages) comes after Shopping for a Billionaire 4 in my Shopping series, but it can be read as a fun standalone as well!**
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 5 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire in a rom com).
She also writes romantic suspense as Meli Raine, sexy shifter romances as DJ Jennings, billionaire shifters as half of the author team Diana Seere, and co-authors with Elisa Reed.
She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where she is the only person with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
While I like the series for its comedic attributes, this one missed the mark. Spoiler alert! I see nothing funny about choosing to wear an outfit that does not fit and find it more important to have coffee or sex than buy something to better cover yourself in front of others, particularly young kids. How many times must someone tell you that you have a nip slip before you respect yourself enough to find at least some tape at least! I get this was all in good fun for the writer, and I admit I may be somewhat of a prude compared to many others who review these stories, but the humor she chose this time just did not work for me. I prefer humor when it really makes sense that the person has a mishap instead of them simply not caring about themselves and/or choose to be stupid. There was only part I found worthy which was the moment when her nephew had his turn with Santa. That was sweet.

All of the books in this rom-com series are pretty funny, but oftentimes the humor is cringeworthy, like the author is trying too hard. Most of it, however, leaves me to think the author is actually a 14 year old boy writing under a pen name. I found this short story to be funnier than the previous books, and the humor works much better here in this silly scenario.
loved this book!! had me chuckling a lot!! loved the whole series!! please please say there will be more even if just one! maybe involving a mini declan/Shannon!?
I Loved this fun holiday visit with Shannon and Declan they are such a loving and fun couple. Sexy santa ... gotta love it. So excited for the wedding I just can't wait.
It's Christmas time and everyone wants the kids to be happy--even if people have to be bribed to work the Santa seat at the mall. I was already laughing while the tree decorating was still under way, but the improbable situations and costume malfunctions keep doubling down throughout the story. If you are a fan of author Julia Kent, you expect to see some steamy (albeit still funny!), explicit scenes, and she doesn't disappoint. With some poignant bits to remind you of the reason for the season, chaos and hi-jinks soon reappear as pets sitting with Santa for photos loom next on the agenda. Don't you wish you had this much fun at the mall? I got to listen to the audio version, and Tanya Eby's narration smoothly enhanced the tale.
Read all SHOPPING four novellas in one sitting. Read this the next day. I’m not a prude but a slutty or sexy elf at a mall/children’s PICTURES WITH SANTA with ever repeating nip slips isn’t charming; it’s skanky. I liked the update on their relationship but it all went “tits up” in my opinion with clothing malfunctions and bringing the cat to the mall. I also inferred from a sentence that the cat was declawed which is dealbreaker for me. Cats need claws and stressing them out with a mall visit isn’t funny, it’s unkind.
Oh gosh was this silly. I had anticipated a cute little holiday read, but it had none of the romance or warmth there previous books in the series has. This is pure comedy.
So I loved that this girls nephew asks her boyfriend who is dressed as Santa for a dad... Any dad... And she is sitting there listening and he offers to be his uncle... Sweet moment... Ruined by the other stuff ... Has potential

4 stars I purchased a copy of the short steamy novel Christmas Shopping for a Billionaire :Shopping for a Billionaire book 5 Shannon and Declan part 2 and received a free copy in the Shopping for the Billionaire boxset 1-5 by Julia Kent and this review was given freely. Short and steamy with multiple wardrobe malfunctions, a stereotypical self absorbed tyrannical mother, the body issues that can occur when young children wait in line for Santa, and Shannon's unfiltered no boundaries observed family and friends all are entwined in this romantic comedy featuring Shannon and Declan helping Greg out in the mall's Winter Wonderland on Christmas Eve.
4 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Shopping for a Billionaire's Fiancee:Shopping for a Billionaire book 6: Shannon and Declan part 3 by Julia Kent and this review was given freely. Differing from the first two installments, this one is told from Declan's perspective but there are just as many dramatic unfiltered Jacoby family incidences and McCormick's business and family rivalries combined with steamy commentary as Declan relays his fears and desires during the week leading up to and including his disastrous marriage proposal to Shannon.
4 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Shopping for a CEO: Shopping for a Billionaire book 7: Andrew and Amanda by Julia Kent and this review was given freely. A complex story with multiple side plots, unfiltered speech, a heavy dose of Murphy's Law, hints for multiple romances, but ultimately a love finally realized romance. As Shannon and Declan's wedding approaches, Shannon's secret shopper former co worker and best friend Amanda and Declan's wasp allergic brother and new Anterdec CEO Andrew experience sporadic steamy interludes and mixed signals as they deal with PTSD, the fear of loving and losing, and Marie's Momzilla steamrolling of the entire wedding party.
Book 8: Shopping for a Billionaire's Wife: Shannon and Declan: not purchased: Family and friends crash the Las Vegas elopement/wedding.
Book 9: Shopping for a CEO's Fiancee: Andrew and Amanda wake up in Las Vegas Married but in bed with Josh and another male, all 4 with wedding rings: not purchased
5 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Shopping for an Heir: Shopping for a Billionaire book 10: Gerald and Suzanne by Julia Kent and this review was given freely. Honor, love, a crooked commanding officer, the struggle with PTSD, outrageous characters, and a bit of matchmaking are wrapped up in this steamy novel featuring former Navy Seal sniper, bodyguard, chauffeur and sculptor Gerald and his sudden ten year reunion with his ex-fiancee,former Navy Medic now Boston Estate Lawyer, Suzanne Dayton. Contains some violence.
4 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Shopping for a Billionaire's Honeymoon: Shopping for a Billionaire book 11: Declan and Shannon by Julia Kent and this review was given freely. This Murphy's law over the top honeymoon story is really a "Comedy of Errors" and actually takes place before Shopping for an Heir. As Declan's father tries to turn Declan and Shannon's Hawaiian honeymoon into a media circus event, Declan resigns from Anterdec and deals with Shannon's intrusive and manipulative mother Marie, accidentally offending a Sultan, acquiring his and Shannon's new business venture, Grind It Fresh while having their chances for intimacy thwarted by freak accidents and the hotel's over helpful staff.
4 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Shopping for a CEO's Wife (Shopping for a Billionaire Book 12) Andrew and Amanda by Julia Kent and this review was given freely. In Julia Kent's over the top descriptive way, She relays the story of the lead up to Amanda and Andrew's wedding and their struggle with the paparazzi, who are being guided by James' desire for publicity at all costs. The novel is half intimate scenes and a fair amount of disputes but overall a good story line with a happy ending.
Christmas Shopping for a Billionaire by Julia Kent is a contemporary, romantic comedy told in first person, single POV, and part 5 in the Shopping for a Billionaire serial.
The story was light and fun with some humorous moments. The witty banter and comedic situations made for an entertaining read. I'm not a fan of serials and probably wouldn't have completed the story if I hadn't already read parts 1-4 and received this one for free. (Full disclosure, I received the first two parts for free. I purchased parts three and four for $2.99 each and received part five for free. So all together, I got the complete story, books 1-5, 715 pages total, for $5.98).
I was interested enough to read all five parts but didn't see the need to spread it out over five books. I feel the story would have been better served if books 1-4 were a two-part duet because books 1-4 (650 pages) tell the complete story, and book 5 (65 pages) is an extra holiday story. Overall, I give the serial three stars and this installment two-and-a-half stars.
Shannon and Declan are amazing together, I adore them. I love that Shannon has a crazy family (Reminds me a bit of my own!), her mother is over the top. Again in these books her secondary characters are just as much fun as her main characters .
Book three has some seriously sad parts in it and I found myself having a good little cry. Which is good for the soul.
There is a big secret that's revealed and I didn't see it coming which for me that saying something I always see them coming!
I was all for Declan from the get go, I loved seeing him and Shannon navigate the many hilarious and steamy escapades that came there way.
Julia Kent's Shopping for a Billionaire is so god damn funny, but sweet. Once you read the first book, you wont want to wait to get to the next book! You know you have a great read in your hands when you don't want it to put it down. This is one crazy, fun read that will have you laughing your ass off!
A very funny - if not semi-slutty - Christmas novella. I should have started at the beginning of the series because - although I enjoyed this quirky holiday book - I would like to see where it all begins with Shannon and Declan.
Most of this book centers around Shannon and Declan posing as Santa and a very slutty elf as ... mystery shoppers? I'm pretty sure Shannon is a mystery shopper but, as this is not the beginning of the series, that part is still a little bit unclear.
I enjoyed the multiple wardrobe malfunctions Shannon has to endure throughout this book. They provide nearly constant comedic moments. And Mommy Masochist ... what a woman! I really wanted to reach into my audiobook and smack her.
While I enjoyed this one and was okay reading it out of order, it does feel like a prelude to a pretty monumental next book so I am quickly hitting the breaks to return to the beginning of this series. If you're looking for a fun holiday novella, this is it!
If you're into unrealistic over the top comedy, this is the book for you. In this installment, Declan gets roped into playing Santa at a mall during the holidays, while Shannon plays an elf. She got a urgent request to be elf and pay is well.
This book really didn't do anything to move the story forward, so it's probably not necessary to read as part of the series. A lot of what happened was Shannon's books popping out of her elf costume (awkward), and the super unrealistic story line of when women come to sit on Santa lap because he is handsome. And most unrealistic happened when criminals came whom got beaten soon.
There were some moments that were funny, but as with the other books, the lack of belief in the story for me because of shock factor that Billionaire come as Santa and people don't recognise him and he is making fool of people around him.

Otherwise, there were some moments that were funny, but as with the other books, the lack of believability hindered the story for me.
What would you do if you ex-boss of a mystery shopping company called your favour in to dress as a sexy elf at the shopping mall photo booth where children and families would be taking pictures with Santa?
I’d run for the hill. But no, Shannon, our heroine, having a soft heart said yes.
To make a long story short, somehow Declan also later got roped in to stand in as Santa. Needless to say, sexy and handsome Santa attracted far more customers than the traditional Santa (no offence intended, Santa)!
It was a short and funny number and was a nice side story to add to the overall Shopping or a Billionaire series.
I lost track of how many times I literally laughed out loud while reading this book. It is hysterical! I can easily see all of these crazy things happening in my head and it all makes me giggle and happy! This is a quick read that will leave you wishing for more! I enjoyed seeing so many characters from the previous 4 books and Chuckles might very well be one of my favorite characters from this series! Do yourself a favor and read this for a giggle!! I'd be shocked if it didn't leave you with a smile on your face.
