Jaymin Snow was born and raised in a small town in Villa Park where she was homeschooled through high school. She writes paranormal and fantasy romance stories full of feisty heroines, unforgettable heroes. She has a husband, three young daughters, and a lovely dog.
For any readers out there about to get into this book expecting a story that involves a character called Gabriel and his unnamed mate who rejects him? You’re out of luck because Gabriel and mate Re nowhere to be found. This story is of the missing king of the Human Wolf Kingdom Griffin and his human turned shifter mate Dr. Maya Sorin. Not sure what happened, but I’m actually still pretty interested in Gabriel and his mate’s story especially after how this one turned out.
The beginning was actually pretty good, I was interested since it picked up right when Maya gets kidnapped. (Spoiler alert: she stays getting kidnapped for the rest of the book. Easy target I guess.) She gets bunked with a shifted wolf to whom she is then forced to experiment on, but only pretend so she can plot their escape. Turns out her cell mate (literally since she ended up being his actual fated mate) is actually royalty and bing bang boom they fall in love. Nice right? Wrong. Sis is human so she can’t possibly be queen. And so begins your run-of-the-mill “us against the world” embargo which includes mis and lack of communication galore. Comes with a side of meddling elders and OW drama and a just sprinkle of ominously vague prophecy.
It’s around the 60% mark that the writing just fell apart for me. By that point you have now entered what I like to call the “leave me alone” arc for the sheer volume that Maya kept telling people to leave her alone. The amount of times Maya and Griffin went in circles around one another was absolutely dizzying and was a ride that I wanted to get off of at that juncture. The story progressed in the very predictable direction I was hoping it wouldn’t go in especially with the random childhood connection and the final FMC kidnapping. I can never understand why authors love making their MCs let the obvious villain go only to have them be surprised and caught off guard that the villain came back for revenge. It’s an idiotic plot point and frankly kind of an insult to the reader’s intelligence. Ultimately, the repetitiveness of the dialogue and lackluster development of the storyline solidified this to be a 3 out of 5 body of work for me. I enjoyed myself but I’d probably forget the story in a couple of days.
This was a really good story. It started off great and kept me intersted in the story but towards the end it started to drag a little for me. After the first book, I really thought Maya had teamed up with Cassian. I did feel like too much happened near the end. I think those events should've happened around 80% in so that we could've seen some of Maya's development and adjustment afterward.
This is not the book that was described . Very disappointed, however I didn’t give it a low score for that alone. It was so boring I skipped chapters just to finish it quicker. Ugh There’s hasn’t been a book that made me want to stop reading ever, congratulations on being the first. Sorry but this whole thing needs to be whipped out of start from scratch. Gosh I wanted to read the first book but came to this one instead because of the description alone. Know I don’t have to read this first cause of this one. Thanks. Please please no mater what I say just do better don’t give up. But I won’t read another. If I do and enjoy it I would eat my words in the review no problem. ~Don’t give up. ~ Good luck .✌️
Story about the missing Wolf King Griffin & Dr. Maya Sorin (human)
Their seem to be a little time discrepancy between book 1 and 2 In this book, he's been missing for about 10 years, but I think they said 15 years in book 1 (or am I remembering it wrongly?)
It felt like a repeat of book 1 in the beginning with the nobels disapproval of his relationship with his fated mate, who happens to be human. And in some ways, it actually was a repeat. The female childhood friend who wants to be queen.
I did like the surprise twist in the ending. But the fact remains that the bad guys, the silver ring organization, are still active!
4. stars. Being generous here. The description of the storyline is wrong. 😑 🤷♀️ Well 70%. Anyway. I enjoyed it as a light hearted read about shifters, fated mates even though 99% of fated mates can’t be away from each other after they find out who they are. But this is a story with leeway. It was a little all over the place and took a while to gel together.
This was a sweet story despite the evil they had to face. Maya and Griffin were very strong characters. I knew that Maya was going to be a shifter. We don't know if she always was or the.medicine given to her brought it about.
Well it was interesting, lots of depth. Further devs that could be fleshed out. Only gripe, fmc has auburn hair. Cover art different. Same in book 1, described as olive and dark hair maybe a continuity error.
I enjoyed this book but the synopsis shown is not for this book, not sure which book it is for. This book was good but not nearly as good as the previous in the series.
This story was so moving, exciting, entertaining and just WOW!!. It was so moving when she found her place in this world🤗☺️. Jaymin is a fantastic storyteller and writer!!.
The book is engrossing, i had trouble putting it down. I must criticise the cover though. Red headed female lead and a silver haired male alpha yet you have two random people on the cover. The bloke has black hair and the female has silver.
This book ,like the one before, did not disappoint. It had everything it promised in spades. The plot, characters, twists , romance and storytelling were all excellent. If you're looking for paranormal romance with HEA, grovel , mystery , this is the jackpot.
so happy that the series continues and is interconnected bc i definitely thought it was going to be all new characters in this book. glad that maya’s alive and we saw her story play out, i just hated the miscommunication of it all and small details that never added up.
I really liked Griffin and Maya story. Their forgotten past, how they met and their current situation. I loved that Maya was smart, this was no TSTL heroine. It looks like Eric's story is next!
I really enjoyed the second book in this series this time learning more about Maya and Griffin who had been missing for years and escaped with her help. A must read if you’ve read the first book.
The interesting mystery that starts in the previous book continues in this one. This book, has action, romance, and it's easy to read. Both main characters are strong and likeable. Again, I loved the revenge.
