This book is a fascinating read generally but the advice for sail handling stands out even more. The techniques he describes for single handed sailing are often exactly what we are trying to do on a fully crewed boat. If only I'd had someone describing the rationale for the process like this book, I would have learnt so much quicker and internalised the knowledge so I don't keep forgetting it.

Excellent handbook on singlehanded sailing. Andrew Evans speaks from extensive experience and really gets into the nuts and bolts of sailing your boat alone. This is the most comprehensive book I've read on the subject. Good value for the money. Excellent bibliography at the end of the book.

Outstanding read

Started slow and built as I read. Excellent information, entertaining stories and practical examples make this a great read that every sailor solo or not should read.

???????

Wasn't what I was looking for. Read it all, hoping for more practical info for the guy that sails a lot by himself. Okay read, just not what I needed.

Some tips are good while others I felt lacking or incomplete. There is a lot of topics covered in this book, which makes it difficult to cover any of the ones a reader deems important in more depth.

a great reference for beginning and advanced sailors who like to sail alone and want to improve their methods. Some great ideas from an experienced sailor.

Very many good tips and insights on singlehanded sailing. This is mainly from the perspective of larger boats / oceangoing. But it still has applications to my small boat usage.
