Natsuki Books was a tiny second-hand bookshop on the edge of town. Inside, towering shelves reached the ceiling, every one crammed full of wonderful books. Rintaro Natsuki loved this space that his grandfather had created. He spent many happy hours there, reading whatever he liked. It was the perfect refuge for a boy who tended to be something of a recluse. After the death of his grandfather, Rintaro is devastated and alone. It seems he will have to close the shop. Then, a talking tabby cat called Tiger appears and asks Rintaro for help. The cat needs a book lover to join him on a mission. This odd couple will go on three magical adventures to save books from people who have imprisoned, mistreated and betrayed them. Finally, there is one last rescue that Rintaro must attempt alone . . .

I picked this one which was gifted to me at a secret santa event and it feels perfect, just couldn't put it down..

Some books don’t shout their message. They whisper it gently — and trust you to listen. This one gently reminded me: Stories don’t just entertain us —they shape who we become.
You don’t expect a talking cat to give you a lesson about life. But this one did.

Do you like books? Do you like libraries?
This book is not what I expected, but I finished it regardless. It is very focused on the reader experience and what reading truly means.
If you’d love reading for the sake of reading it, it’s a good option.

A charming, short story which is like a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold frosty morning. Very easy to read. If you are looking for high brow this is not for you.

very easy read. quite a simple cute book, makes you want to read more books in general. i liked alot of the book references in it. i enyjoed the narrative was sort of comforting and being set in a quite part of Japan really suited it. a cat, books and japan all bit of me!

Nice cozy and short book.
The beginning is a bit repetitive and it took a while to warm up to the characters but I enjoyed how much character development there is for the main character.
