With their hearts in harmony, tying the knot should be a piece of wedding cake for Pippa Sanders and Clay Mathers.
But Fate’s a nasty mistress. One week before their special day, Pippa narrowly escapes when fire erupts in the ballroom they’d reserved for the ceremony. They’ll have to use every resource at their fingertips to implement Plan B. In this case, B stands for the barn at the Sleepy T Christmas Tree Farm.
Hobbled by a sprained ankle, Pippa is unable to help with the preparations. In spite of the grime accumulated over twenty years, Clay is determined. He promises Pip he’ll transform the barn into an idyllic location for a winter wedding. Plus, he’ll make time to throw in a special surprise.
What Clay doesn’t factor into his plan is the snowstorm bearing down on them. With predictions of up to two feet of snow, will Mother Nature prove too much of an obstacle to overcome?
Gemma's favorite desk accessories for many years were a circular wooden token, better known as a 'round tuit,' and a fortune from a fortune cookie proclaiming her a lover of words; some day she'd write a book. All it took was a transfer to the United Kingdom, the lovely English springtime, and a huge dose of homesickness to write her first novel. Once it was completed and sent off with a kiss even the rejections, addressed to 'Dear Author', were gratifying. After returning to America, she spent a number of years as a copywriter, dedicating her skills to making insurance and the agents who sell them sound sexy. Eventually, her full-time job as a writer interfered with her desire to be a writer full-time and she left the world of financial products behind to pursue an avocation as a romance author. Her gamble paid off when she was a 2012 Finalist in the prestigious Golden Pen contest for Romantic Suspense and she received contracts for her first and second book.
A cute story about everything that can go wrong when planning a wedding, from twisted ankle to venues that go up in smoke. Some overused cliches, but overall fun conclusion to previous series!
I found this book to be a very quick read And a very warming read. The characters were well written And you could picture them As a whole family. Weddings always go through various different problems Set and Set this and December And it snows. But the warmth throughout the whole story the way the author The author talks about various events that were going on just made me wanna really go there and Actually see it...
The culmination of a love so pure and true it might survive anything. The love of each other and family remained steady even though fate seemed to test at every turn their happy day.

A cool little story of a Christmas Wedding... and everything that can go wrong, does. You want things to go well for both families, but one thing after another happens, and at times you hold your breath to help them through. (As if that would help....) Not your usual Christmas Story. Its a wedding story, but it just so happens to take place at Christmas. 4 stars.
Don't you love a combination of winter, love, and family?
If you do, A Winter Wedding by Gemma Brocato, is a perfect example of a book that will leave you with a warm heart and all of the best feelings that a holiday season can bring.
This short continues the story of Pippa Sanders and Clay Mathers from Hearts in Harmony in the Five Senses series. It shares all of the chaos and joy that goes with with their wedding and the blending of their extended families.
Weddings are not always easy to pull off and author, Gemma Brocato, gives a fun and accurate account of all of the things that could go wrong and oh so right when trying to pull off a wedding in contemporary times.
The story has some steamy moments. But most of the warmth you'll feel will come from the joy of knowing that this couple have done what it takes to be together.
A Winter Wedding has all of the best parts of the holiday season...love, excitement, snow, and family working together toward a common goal.
You’re invited to the wedding that Murphy's Law and Mother Nature are trying to keep from happening. So glad I could share this occasion with Clay, Pippa, the twins, Seeley and the whole Kerrigan clan. This was humorous and Pippa, the heroine, lives up to Clay’s nickname for her—Spitfire. I love the relationship Pippa and Clay have and the one Clay has with Pippa’s twins.
Gemma Brocato has a talent for pulling you right back into the overall series thread. This short novella takes book two from HFN (happy for now) to HEA (happy ever after) with a wedding. The story brings back the special small town of Granite Pointe and its residents in spades.
It was fast paced, never a dull moment, and I read it in one sitting. Book three, here I come.
If you’re not reading Gemma Brocato, you should be. She’s on my “authors to watch for” list but getting very close to my “must read” author list.
Planning a wedding two weeks from Christmas would be stressful under most circumstances, but toss in a fire that destroys the venue, a bride with a sprained ankle, a scramble to find a new hall, and a threatening winter storm, and you’ve got a recipe for a Hallmark plot.
And that’s pretty much what Gemma Brocato delivers in this short novella, which is a follow-up to the characters she introduces in HEARTS AND HARMONY. Pippa Sanders and Clay Mathers are ready to tie the knot but they have a few obstacles to overcome first. How they accomplish that goal is a heart-warming tale, lovely for a holiday read. Both steamy and sweet, this short read is a nice addition to Gemma’s Five Senses Series. Enjoy!
I just adore the way Clay loves so unconditionally when it comes to Pippa & those kids! Gemma has a great writing style, and this book was no exception. I kind of read these out of order. It's best to read this one After Hearts in Harmony, and before Exposed to Passion. I read Exposed first, but it didn't really take from this story any. Once you read these, you'll see why I said you should read them in that order. I don't like leaving spoilers in reviews, so I don't go into the plot or story lines much. But this story is just as beautiful as the rest in the Five Senses Series. I can't wait to see what else Gemma has planned to unleash on the world!
What a fantastic heartwarming close to Hearts in Harmony. Honestly, I would expect nothing less from Gemma Brocato. She had me from her first book, Cooking Up Love.
Due to a fire at the current wedding venue, Pippa, the bride hurts her ankle and the wedding is uncertain. Her fiancé, Clay, promises to give her a Christmas wedding she'll never forget. As you can imagine a few obstacles pop up making this a fun little read.
I have read others in this series and really love the twins!- Gemma does good family. The town and the dynamics of the characters was written well. Pippa is great and spitfire suits her.
But I found this novella disappointing in that I wanted to be led to the next installment- This was really just a long drawn out wedding planners nightmare. happy ending good. but who or what started the fire? Is there more to come? Lets hope so.
A Winter Wedding is a fabulous addition to Gemma Brocato’s Five Senses series. This short was wonderful and written so very well. It was fabulous to return to Granite Pointe and see Pippa and Clay negotiate the lead-up to their special day. Expect excitement and adventure as these two attempt a winter wedding.
Any thing that can go wrong will go wrong, all the way to the last minute. Can they pull off a wedding in an unpredictable winter? Read it and find out. Clay is an amazing man, but can he fight fire and mother nature to give the love of his life the wedding she wants? I loved this short story a wonderful addition the the tales being told.
I haven't read the book before this one because I wanted to read all about the wedding!! I love little stories like this! I hope Gemma Brocato will have some more of the novellas to follow up with the other couples and their stories!
