Right after the snail alien invasion in Paris, Stitch and his friends need to investigate some mysterious disappearances in New York. Seems like a shape shifting kind of aliens is hypnotizing people and taking them underground.

The previous book was all about Stitch wanting to prove to his friends that he can be a detective, to show them that he can do more than destroy things. This one is all about Stitch wanting to prove that he doesn’t need any help from his friends to be a good detective. He even starts making up his own detective rules, instead of following the Galactic Detective Agency’s rules. It’s a good concept, though this does mean that the team is split up for a while. And one subplot is simply a bit more interesting than the other.

I must admit, I liked the previous book more. The previous book had a better plot, the setting was explored more, and it just felt more fun. Though this sequel does a good job of letting Stitch grow a bit more as a character, it introduces us to a new alien enemy stitch needs to stop, and the ending is pretty strong.
