I got matched to the bad Apha. When I refuse, he forces me into marriage. He fought thirteen wolves for the Alpha position, and now he needs a mate. When the Brides-for-hire agency matches me with him, I run. But he hunts me down. He ties me up and locks me in. Then he forces me into a mating ritual.
He’s the new Alpha. He can’t be denied anything. I know the papers are all signed, that our contract is binding. I know his violent reputation, that he takes whatever he wants. But I won’t serve any man, let alone someone like him.
He puts me in cuffs and a chain, and leaves me helpless. Helpless because he touches me until I’m soaked in desire. Helpless because he caresses me until I want to beg. Beg him to claim my innocent body. Beg him to teach my innocent body.
When I give myself to the Alpha…will he claim all of me?
The Wolfshade Brides-for-Hire Agency arranges marriages for shifters. The matches are perfect…even if it means that enemies turn into lovers, rejected mates turn out to be fated, and broken hearts are crushed again before they’re healed forever.
Lyra Atlas was born in Oakland to an English mother and Scottish dad who passed on to her their fascination with the Arthurian Legends and other tales of famous kings and queens. Unsurprisingly, Lyra developed a penchant for court love and everything that’s magical and mystical—and this seeps into her writing. Her stories often feature powerful alphas braved by quietly seductive females and other unexpected, inspiring heroines.
Lyra lives with her partner Mark in San Diego, and cherishes their daily strolls along the Strand. When looking for inspiration, she goes for a hike in the charming mountain town of Julian where she will lose herself observing the Victorian-style houses and quaint stores, envisioning stories of bygone lovers, their stolen hearts, kisses and touches.
Bound by law, torn by power, undone by each other.
When wolf shifter Winnie signs up for a supernatural matchmaking service, she doesn’t expect to land in the middle of ruthless pack politics or get chained to its notorious Alpha. Damon rules Gryphon Eyrie with control and dominance, but Winnie’s defiance throws everything off balance. He expects obedience. She gives him resistance.
Forced into a bond neither of them wants, survival turns into slow-burning connection. Every look sparks a fight, every touch blurs the lines. Damon lives by order. Winnie moves by instinct. As tension rises within the pack and threats close in, their relationship becomes the only thing standing between peace and collapse.
With war looming and lies unraveling, trust becomes harder to hold than power. Damon faces ghosts from a brutal past. Winnie must decide if love is worth the cost of her freedom. The danger isn’t just outside their walls—it’s in their choices.
Damon and Winnie change each other in ways they never expect. He learns to open without losing control. She finds strength in being seen and trusted. Together, they become something neither knew they needed.
Their relationship starts with defiance and shifts into something fierce and real, built through conflict, growth, and moments that hit as hard as they heal. It’s messy. It’s earned. It’s everything.
A dark, steamy, emotionally-charged, enemies to lovers, fated mates, wolf shifter romance, exploring love, power, control, identity, heritage, trust, betrayal, politics, trauma, healing, loyalty, leadership, and freedom. It's about the struggle for autonomy in the face of power, the search for identity and belonging, and the complicated path toward trust, healing, and love when both people carry the weight of past wounds and uncertain futures.
Engaging story that's about wolf shifter Winnie who signs up with the "Brides-for-Hire" matchmaking agency after her brother's successful match with them and newly alpha wolf Damon of Gryphon Eyrie pack who is known for his strictness and dominance needs a mate to rule his pack. Both sign up but when Winnie sees who she's matched to, she reneges forcing Damon to take matters in his own hand. What occurs is a tug of war situation between them as they learn about each other in this romance story. The council wanted a different alpha to rule, but Damon won the challenge so there's uneasiness between the council and him. Will all the issues in this story be resolved? The characters were engaging, the storyline drew me in, and their romantic encounters sizzled. This does have some BDSM happenings in this enjoyable copy I'd received a copy and volunteer to read and review.
Once again Iris Porter matches two shifters, Winnie and Damon. Damon has just won an Alpha challenge and needs a mate to keep his place. Winnie has her own issues and reasons for applying to Ms Porter. Gossip is such a detrimental thing: people do not know all the details and so fill them in to make the gossip more interesting, never thinking how it may affect the person concerned. Gossip states Damon is not a nice man, and this interferes with Damon and Winnie’s chance at a HEA. This was another great read in this series; Damon’s desperation comes across very well and Winnie’s uncertainty of her sexuality was covered understandingly, and the problems they have to deal with kept me turning late into the night! Brilliant! I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
I like where the story line is going and how everything is coming together. I also want to know how Iris knows so well how to match the couples. Great book.
