Ground-breaking
I have been interested in deliverance ministry and spiritual warfare ever since I first experienced it in missions about 25 years ago. I have read and listened to teaching by Derek Prince, Frank Hammond and others—most of whom talk about casting demons out of individuals, which can be a long, exhausting process for both the victim and the deliverance minister. I have also appreciated the writings of Dr. Neil T. Anderson, whose Steps to Freedom in Christ is a great tool for guiding believers in their own deliverance. These have helped me, but some people are so bound by darkness that these forms of ministry bring only temporary relief.
Ana Mendez Ferrell’s book is different. She talks about how the enemy takes people captive to do his will, making them incapable of doing God’s will, by fragmenting their souls and carrying parts of them into spiritual realms of darkness, confinement and torment. The only way to release these prisoners is to be led by the Holy Spirit and heavenly angels to the spiritual realms where the captives are held, overcome the “strong men” guarding them, and lead the captives out to heavenly realms with Jesus instead.
In addition to explaining the Scriptures that informed her and her husband of these principles, Mrs. Ferrell provides examples of when these methods have been used in her ministry. There are also testimonies of others who applied these practices and saw powerful transformation take place in individuals and entire communities! I found Ana Mendez Ferrell’s YouTube site online and have been watching her teachings on the subject there, as well.
If you are not a Christian or are new to faith in Jesus Christ, this is probably not a book for you to read just yet. However, seasoned evangelists, prophets and apostles may discover a tremendous key to new levels of effectiveness in ministry by studying and applying this approach.

This was a very good read, but I need to see evidence of the claims.
I chose a 3 star rating because their are some very strong claims made in this book that I would like to investigate further. I recommend this book for anyone who is willing to put time into really learning from Holy Spirit about the truth of the methods used. I do not recommend just any person, Christian or not, jumping into the spirit realm and trying to do these types of things on their own accord. I think the author could have been more thorough in steps leading to this type of ministry.

Update: the more I think about this book the more I don't feel totally right about it. I'm careful not to call things that I don't understand wrong, so I'm not saying that, but I just feel weird in my spirit about it, so I'll just leave it at that.
Original review: This is definitely a book I need to reread. It is for sure for the spiritually mature and I consider myself fairly spiritually mature, there were still aspects that seemed to blow my mind. I liked it a lot, but it was pretty radical!

Wonderful book could not put it down
This book is for those who want to see and hear more of Jesus. What a powerful king we serve. If you want the plans if the devil to be over in the lives of God’s children then read this book. Let not the things of this world keep us captives but let us be freed.

This book was way far out there and I don’t interpret the Scriptures referenced in the way the author does. The best grasp I can get on this book is that the author has had some revelations on deliverance (through visions) that may have some validity in specific cases but I couldn’t grab hold of believing a literal application of much of what she proposes.

Scriptural insight
I really enjoyed reading this book- it was unsettling to realize that all this has been going on while the Body of Christ is largely ignorant of it. God has made a way to set the captives free and this book will help you learn about it- with Scriptural evidence throughout.

A must read!
For those wanting to go deeper in the Spirit, this book will challenge and inspire you to do so. I myself am believing for this to become a manifest reality in my life in order to set the captive free! Her book is adding a new dimension to deliverance. We can not only see people come out of darkness, but see them set on high with Jesus so they can grow. We want to see people flourish in God’s kingdom, and this is one way to help them get there.

This was a very informative and helpful book. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to understand the spiritual realm more completely, and anyone who has sought help from every other type of deliverance with no results, or only partial results. Also, anyone seeking a deeper walk with our LORD. This book is well written and easy to understand. I came away with a good clean feeling, no criticism, or judgment at all. Just good information and guidance. Some really powerful stories at the end.

For those who doubt these spiritual places, I want to testify. When I was saved by Jesus from New Age, He started to show me different spiritual places and what is happening there. And that I am in some of those places ('held') in the spirit. During the day I can sometimes feel those places projecting in this reality.
He is still in the process of freeing me, and He does it in so many different ways. He teaches me through it all a lot.
I am still learning and waiting for the Lord to confirm information and bring revelation, but this book definitely encouraged me to pray even more into what the Lord was showing me and ask for more revelation. Really encouraging. Thank you, Ms. Ana! And thank you, Jesus! :)

Somehow it's true
I have greatly benefitted from the teaching in this book. Never thought I'd read a book where the Biblical case is implied rather than expounded but I have and I feel freer every time I use the instructions in here. Pray first, but I'm convinced. We can go into spiritual realms and take back parts of us that are imprisoned.

This book turned very dark and weird. Didn’t actually make it past halfway and I had to quit. I think the author opened a door to the demonic and it actually comes out through this book. Be very careful what doors you open in the spirit.

Excellent instructions for deliverance.
This book is extremely helpful for anyone who is trapped in captivity and replaying the worst moments of your life endlessly. It also helps you learn to rescue others from darkness and bring liberty to suffering souls.
