Here is a Top 10 list from Ann about her likes, dislikes, and oddities:

1. I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin.
2. Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle.
3. If I don't make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea––I love it all.
4. There doesn't seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a couple of big dogs who are overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return.
5. Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dogs referenced above.
6. Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word.
7. Dorothy was right. There's no place like home.
8. All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts' mean husband from the movie 'Sleeping with the Enemy,' but I can't seem to control this particular quirk.
9. I love, love, love finding a great bargain.
10. Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it, or even think about it. Great––now I'm thinking about it. Ick!

Island Hopping is the finale to Ann Omasta’s Escape series. The books in the series are romantic comedies. Each book can be read as a standalone.

Readers first meet the infamous Lizzie in Getting Lei’d (book one in the series); her impulsive actions lead to her best friend becoming a runaway bride. Naturally, she is “persona non grata” with the bride (Roxy Rose) and her family. When a reality TV producer offers her the chance to be the “fixer” for Ruthie Rose’s reality TV wedding, Lizzie jumps at the chance to help her former friend have the wedding of her dreams while hopefully getting back in the good graces of the entire Rose family.

Lizzie is particularly suited to being Ruthie’s fixer as she is a driven, workaholic. Her planning and organization skills are second only to her creative problem solving ability. This “Girl Friday” is passively in search of her dream man, and salary and career aspirations top her list of dream attributes.

As with any reality television, there is a bit of reality and much plotted turmoil. Lizzie has no end of hurdles to jump—for herself as well as for Ruthie’s wedding. With every misstep, the handsome beach bum who runs the beach water sports rental shack appears and helps Lizzie save the day. While handsome and resourceful, Shay Sanders’ resume doesn’t match Lizzie’s perception of marriage material, but could he be an island fling?

Ms. Omasta’s characters are wonderful. The Rose family matriarchs are odd, quirky characters. I loved Lizzie’s grace under pressure, and her infamous reputation with the Rose family doesn’t get in the way of Lizzie quickly becoming a lovable character. The fun and humor come in the form of reality TV hijinks and Murphy’s Law situations that arise in the days leading up to the wedding. Island Hopping is a light-hearted romantic comedy that nicely wraps up the series of standalones. This fun novella provides a tropical escape in the dead of winter.

A good read with some amusing characters and a cute romance. Lizzie is trying to make her friend’s sister’s wedding go off without a hitch.. it’s not easy though as warring grannies, a meddling tv producer and tropical storm all get in the way. Fortunately ‘beach bum’ Shay keeps coming to her rescue. He is literally the nicest guy.. and hot too obviously. She’s quite standoffish with him to start with as she thinks he has no aspirations and that they are from completely different worlds but there is a stong attraction between them. The ending was cute.

I enjoyed this fun story with great characters, romance and intrigue. Lizzie was a PA for a large corporations and very organized. Her best friend was supposed to marry in a reality show, but the night before Lizzie and her friend's fiance kissed and the wedding was called off and she lost her friend and her family she had grown up with. Now the friend's sister is getting married on a reality show and Lizzie.decides to go and organize everything. She was unwanted until she saved their grandmother. Lizzie fell for a beach guy there, but had to return home. The ending was great. There were some funny moments.

Lizzie has her hands full trying to troubleshoot for her best friend's island wedding. Having been the center for the first one not going through she only wanted to ensure that things run smoothly for this one. When Baggy falls ill and the sudden appearance of Ruthie's other grandmother things heat up. Is Lizzie way over her head and will she be able to hold up to the bargain of the producer? This is filled with drama and keeps you on edge until the last page.

She's the workaholic everyone loves to hate. He's perfectly content basking on the beach. Can these two polar opposites find enough common ground to let their undeniable spark of attraction ignite?

This time it's Lizzie, the best friend who ruined Rose's first wedding day. She's the black sheep now, no one in the family wants to know her. The TJ, the croc from the show that Ruthie was involved in, approaches her with an idea - join the cast to try to prevent the chaos the show will set up to put obstacles in the way of Ruthie's upcoming marriage to Andrew.  The story has its usual sub plot of the show - how this 'show' is done is astounding - no structure at all - and why don't the main characters question whether or not they have everything - airplane tickets, reservations, etc.? Are the producers of these shows that incompetent?  Of course the snafu of Lizzie not having a hotel room to stay in at the resort is circumvented by a surfer dude hunk, Shay, who offers Lizzie the use of his room down the beach; of course, this means that Lizzie misses the welcoming banquet - does this show not keep track of it's cast and crew?

Honestly, I actually enjoyed this third book the most. I'm really not sure why the plot line of the reality tv show, because it really had little to do with the books except to make things difficult for the characters. And this book didn't need that - and considering that there seemed to be only two episodes of the program this time around, what was the point? There was enough other obstacles put in the way that the plot line of the tv show was really unnecessary.  So, overall, I think this particular plot line got in the way of a decent set of romance stories.

What do you do when you make a huge mistake and loose the people most important to you? You do everything possible to make up for your mistake and get them back in your life. When 1 such mistake causes Lizzie to loose her "family by choice", she decided to go uninvited to a wedding to make sure that nothing goes wrong with it.

Shay a beach bum, with an MBA and a business loves the laid back life he has created for himself. He meets Lizzie and falls in love with her.

With Lizzie's room reservations going missing, her chosen family giving her snubs and cold shoulders, her BFF fainting on the beach, a live streamed wedding taking place, where things are going to go wrong to boost ratings, her adopted grandma having a cardiac arrest etc. etc. etc. will Lizzie and Shay get a chance to realize that they love each other?

A book where each word pulls at the strings of your heart. I loved reading it. Shay and Lizzie are complete opposites and perfect partners for each other.

Lizzie's story will give everyone the courage to look at their mistakes in the eye and create the possibility of new relationships. This poignant story speaks of love, loss, strength, courage, friendship and forgiveness.

A must read for everyone who wants to hide their face in the sand after making a colossal mistake in their lives.

The final book in the Escape series is ISLAND HOPPING. This one definitely needs to be read after Cruising for Love, since it is about Ruthie and Andrew’s wedding. The wedding will also be filmed for TV/online as a follow-up to the Cruising for Love show.

It’s also about Lizzie – the girl who was central to Roxy’s first wedding imploding. Lizzie’s day job involves being a fix-it type of girl – an executive secretary – and she excels at it. So the producer, TJ, invites her along to add drama to the filming of the wedding since, obviously, Roxy and Ruthie are going to be holding a grudge, but Lizzie’s skills will be needed for all that TJ has planned to “add drama” to the wedding. (Yes, more eye-rolls.)

I felt bad for Lizzie. We’ve all made mistakes. Not only is she being judged, but she’s being judgmental about Shay. Shay is an absolute sweetheart, even if he is a beach bum…. Or is he?

One final thought: I’m always surprised by how much the books I’m reading seem to parallel my life at the time. Imagine the oddness that I have been approached by a casting director this week. It’s never happened before. Yet, this week while reading this book, it did. Is it any wonder I prefer to read happy and romantic stories?

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Island Hopping
The Escape Series, Book 3
By: Ann Omasta
Narrated by: Ann Omasta

I can always count on Ann Omasta to take me away and entertain me. This series is fun and flirty and brings us Lizzie's story. After the first book, and how things went down with her best friend Roxy, I am glad to see how things played out. The producers from the reality show have asked Lizzie to come and help with Roxy's sister's wedding, and Lizzie sees this as a chance fro redemption. After the fiasco that broke ties with her best friend, she has missed that feeling of family. She is consumed with work, and now on the island is doing her best to pull off the best wedding possible. But things are not always easy, and the show is definitely making the job a lot harder than necessary. With no reservation, Lizzie is taken in by a worker, Shay and while there are sparks, he is not ambitious enough to have for the long term. So why not a fling? There is so much going on in this one, full of funny lines, bantering grandmothers, compromising weather and a budding relationship that is fun and flirty. I loved coming back to all of these characters and seeing just how reality can be interpreted! Ann Omasta narrates her story, with fantastic voices and that spark of fun! I was totally immersed in this, had some chuckles and fell in love with Shay and Lizzie!

I liked the 💕romance for heroine and super organized Lizzie, but all of the chaos, glitches and 💐wedding drama she has to put up with just skated the edge of too much adversity for a fun, entertaining read. Lizzie's attempt to get back in the good graces of her friends and their family had her biting her tongue SO often, accepting rudeness and just downright bad treatment and every good deed she does is immediately followed by another crisis. It would have driven ME up the wall!

There's humor, romance, passion (not explicit), odd, quirky characters, illness, tense family dynamics in the grandparent front, wedding glitches galore, reality tv cameras rolling, and a huge unwelcome visit from Mother Nature! Shay, Lizzie's savior, is a bit of a mystery man. I kept expecting a reveal of his full backstory but only got a tiny thread. It would have been nice to know more.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. No cliffhanger on the romance. I did not read the earlier books and did not need to to enjoy it, but important characters in this story have resurfaced from the earlier books.

I read this book as part of the Escape Series Box Set and I do recommend reading the books in order to enjoy the full story. Ruthie and her fiancé decide to let the producer from the Cruising for Love reality series finance their wedding by televising it, too. T.J.(the producer) propositions Lizzie (Rosie's groom stealing best friend) saying that she needs to put her organizational skills to the test and come save Ruthie's wedding from all the obstacles that the producers are going to throw in their way. Lizzie only accepts because she wants to make amends for her part in Rosie's first wedding fiasco. After getting off to a rocky start with Ruthie, her parents and Baggy, Lizzie finally starts making inroads into gaining back their trust and love. She cements it even more after rescuing Baggy. Lizzie is very career driven and detail oriented which is great for helping to keep Ruthie's wedding on track, but isn't so great for her falling for Shay, whom she feels has no ambition. Between the antics of the TV show, the weather, the grandmothers' rivalry and a few other surprises one wonders if the wedding will be spectacular or one hot mess.

Island romance

Lizzie has lost her best friend, Roxy and Roxy's family by a horrible mistake. When she gets the chance to make up for it by helping Roxy's sister, Ruthie with her wedding she takes it. What she doesn't expect is for things to begin going wrong from the start. Since Ruthie is having a destination wedding Lizzie is supposed to have a room at the resort but nothing is booked under her name and she doesn't have any where to stay. When Shay hears about Lizzie's problem he volunteers his employee room. Lizzie isn't willing to take the room until Shay clarifies he won't be staying in the same room. It's not great but at least Lizzie has somewhere to sleep. As the days go on things are thrown at Lizzie left and right but Shay is there to offer his support. Soon enough Lizzie begins to form feelings for Shay but tries her hardest to ignore them. She denies her feelings until she can't no more but knows that nothing between them will last. Is Shay going to prove to Lizzie that something between them could work? Will Lizzie realize her mistake before it's too late?

Lizzie has repented and tried to be forgiven by Roxie and family for blowing up Roxie's wedding to Gary. No one in the family is willing to forget and forgive, and Lizzie is miserable. She jumps at the chance to go with the TV crew (yes, another reality show about Ruthie's wedding!) to act as a wedding coordinator and trouble fixer for the wrongs the reality producers are intent on doing to upset Ruthie ad Andrew's wedding. The one thing Lizzie is good at is details! Even though the family is upset to have her there, Lizzie goes ahead with the plan, and orders back-ups for everything she can, and strategizes how to be ready for anything. But she didn't expect her first "job" would be CPR.

This was a fun book that brought the previous books back to my mind. I did think the author may have overdone the current dislike of Lizzie, and the overly repetitive dialog about what Lizzie had done. Overall however, Lizzie does manage to put out an awful lot of fires and rejoin the circle of friendship. Along the way she meets a guy...

Oops or even Yikes! Why did Lizzie kiss her best friend's fiancée the night before the wedding?? So poor Lizzie who made this humongous mistake is trying to do everything she can to make things right for her BF. So her challenge is to make everything go smoothly for the friend's sister's wedding! Off she goes to do her very best and that's when this workaholic meets the beach bum, Shay. These two couldn't be more different in every way you can think of. BUT... That doesn't take into account the attraction between them that turns up the heat whenever they are close. This romantic comedy by Ann Omasta is the third book in The Escape Series but it can easily be read as a standalone. With wonderful characters - including the secondary characters I was drawn into the storyline right at the beginning and kept riveted to my Kindle to find out what happens to these two believable characters that are so likeable. I look forward to reading more of Ann's books. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Definitely recommended.

ONE DELIGHTFUL CRAZY READ!!!
Oh my, talk about a collision course. This is one exciting, intriguing, heart pounding, pulse racing, nailbiting, smooth flowing, page turning wonder that's as riveting as it is captivating. All the drama, heartache, betrayal, fear and suspense increases steadily as the tension spirals while the plot thickens. Twists and turns, ins and outs, ups and downs, along with a few unexpected circumstances and unpredictable surprises around every corner make for one enjoyable experience. The two main characters complexity and electrifying chemistry have such depth and individuality that really lights up as sparks fly. The scenes are so graphically descriptive it's easy to picture each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this little jewel together beautifully. Ann did an amazing job bringing this read to life. Awesome job Ann, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

Executive assistant Lizzie burned bridges with her best friend Roxy and her family when she kissed Roxy’s husband to be Gary before the wedding and he called it off blaming Lizzie. Roxy and her family have never forgiven her even though Roxy went on to marry the love of her life, who was not Gary. The producer of Cruising for Love where Roxy’s sister Ruthie met her fiance Andrew invites her to Antigua where they are filming their wedding. Lizzie ends up being an unpaid wedding planner fixing everything that goes wrong and realizes she’s really good at it. She meets beach bum Shay who runs an equipment rental place on the beach and there is an instant attraction. But is there a permanent place for Lizzie on the island with Shay? There were plenty of laughs in this sexy island romance. It made me want to take a tropical vacation and find my own Shay.

I really like this series, I must say. It is always a perfect choice for a relaxing weekend, especially the youtube audios. Sadly I wasn't quite able to finish this one because the audio had an issue near the end. =(

Anyway, justice for Lizzie. I had almost forgitten about her, but I like that she got redemption and jusrice. And a hunk of her own. He is definitely charming and surprising - and though I couldn't find out for myself, I'd beg he's got a Kai style secref.

The humor on this is enough to melt the coldest heart smile. especially when it comes to Ruthie and Baggy (sorry if I'm making typos left and right - this is what you get for listening to books).

I'd love to actually hear tthe ending, but otherwise, loved it!

Island Hopping. (The Escape Series Book 3) by Ann Omasta is witty well written story.
Lizzie very detailed person has been wracked with guilt for breaking up her best friend wedding by kissing the groom on a reality TV show. Lizzie is the most hated person with her best friends family that she agrees to assist her friends sister wedding to make sure the reality show doesn’t ruin the wedding. Nothing goes well when Lizzie gets to the island and a beach bum Shay offers her his room to stay in for the wedding. They have chemistry but they are totally different people. Throughly enjoyed reading the antics of the characters in Island Hopping and highly recommend reading and enjoying it.

Another short-but-sweet treat from Ms. Omasta.

Lizzie gets her HEA ... not only with Shay, but also with her not-by-blood family, the Roses (from the previous books in the series). I enjoyed spending more time with quirky, now slightly self-censored Baggy (Margaret Elizabeth, was it?). Ruthie was hot and cold ... and Roxy was there but not overwhelmingly so.

Nothing like a natural disaster to bring a couple together. For some reason, I thought Lizzie got seasick, so I thought she’d panic at the thought of staying on Shay’s boat ... but she did & helped him it bring it back ashore the next day (even in a storm).

This book starts out looking like a simple case of opposites attract, but Lizzie and Shay’s story is a little more involved than merely the driven Type-A city girl meets the laid-back surfer. Their misadventures are filled with snark and spice, and they show us Murphy’s Law hard at work. At the end of this trilogy I’m left wondering if the author has a bit of a vindictive streak with how ruthlessly she wields the question: “so what really is the absolute worst that could happen?” There are some seriously creative possibilities in answer to that question in here. I kind of hope we get to come back and visit these characters again sometime in the future.

Lizzie ruined her best friends wedding and is trying to make amends with her family. She’s super organized so she goes to the island where Ruthie her best friends younger sister is having a reality wedding to help organize it. But with Director loving drama for the ratings and Ruthies two grandmothers that fight and doesn’t get along she’s got her hands full. Then a beach bum Shay who is laid back and her complete opposite always around and helping at times, will this be to much even for her?

I loved that Lizzie got a story!! She is devastated after ruining her best friends wedding, even if it meant Roxy met the man of her dreams. Now she is determined to help Ruthie have her dram wedding, even if it means being on the TV show that shamed her before. In this funny, quirky and drama filled story Lizzie meets her potential dream man, but she decides she must stay focused on Ruthie's wedding. This is full of twists and turns, crazy grandmothers and one beach guy that she can't get out of her mind. It's a great story, the characters are fabulous, it's just a fantastic read!

Love is where you find it!
Lizzie is given a second chance with her “family by choice” when she flies to Hawaii so her “estranged sister” can have the wedding of her dreams. The cast of characters ranges from her unbelievably funny grandmother to the more straight laced members of her family. Love is in the air, and Shay is definitely far from immune to her “charms”. Great characters as always, along with the story, and the terrific writing.

A great well written entertaining fun romance story with soo much more. This enjoyable storyline includes lots of drama, some tears humor, meaness, and love. I loved how everything all cames together through all the sabotooge, resistence, glitches, rolling cameras and a mysterious beach bum white knight. The characters are fun, interesting, quirky, and even include cameoes from previous series characters. A great fun read.

Okay, we met, or rather heard of Lizzie in previous episodes, as the bbf who stole the groom, the night before the wedding.
Now, with the whole story out there and a happy ever after, for the jilted bride, Lizzie wants to make amends with her preferred family members. Our devious film producer, also from previous episode, has a deal, that just might make that happen.
Off course, these also a hunk of man in this story, as well, but how it all fits together, well, you need to read that for yourself.

Imagine you find yourself kissing your best friends fiance and the wedding doesnt go ahead. You find yourself shunned by a family you have known for as long as you can remember. You have one last chance to redeem yourself but its risky as its all going to be captured on a reality tv show where anything and everything will go wrong. What do you do? Would you risk it all to be besties with your friend and her family again?

I listened to the audio version of this book which was narrated well and had me smiling and laughing out loud more than a couple of times. A great holiday read.
