He could be any man she wanted...

Stacy Price needs a second chance. After a humiliating divorce and embarrassing public breakdown, the noted screenwriter wants to resurrect her career. Excited by an invitation to join the Black Stockings Society, she uses the pain of her broken marriage and writes a brilliant script. All she needs is the perfect leading man to play her ex.

Chance Jamison is adored by fans as "Dr. Michael Staton" on a popular TV show. However, he wants to change his boy-next-door image and play the conniving, cruel lead in Stacy's story.

But when he sees Stacy wearing a pair of purple fishnet stockings, Chance realizes that he wants to be her leading man both on the screen--and off.

Dara Girard is a national bestselling and award-winning author. After many novels in various sub-genres from contemporary to paranormal romance, women’s fiction, and non-fiction Ms. Girard continues to win readers with each new book.

I was born many years ago in the American Midwest to a brave immigrant couple who decided to call themselves my parents. They moved around the country until they finally settled in Maryland. As a child I was always scribbling something and my family supported my efforts (with white knuckles and a lot of prayer).

After graduating from college, I worked various jobs and did some freelance writing hoping that one day my writing efforts would make me rich and famous and allow me to quit. That didn’t happen. Instead my last job was made redundant and I decided not to look for a new one. Instead I chose to live on my savings (and mild insanity) and write full time.

I would not recommend this route for other aspiring writers. Either marry well or have three years worth of salary saved. I took the risk because I wanted to and fortunately that same year I received an offer from a publisher for a two book contract–after a thirteen year effort, but that’s another story.

I only liked one character in this book and Laurice was a minor character.
Stacy- unstable
Chance- a chameleon (good & bad)
Leon- sociopath
Julia- terrible friend
Chance’s family- bat shit crazy

This novel at certain parts was disturbing. Chance-The filthy family house, his mother saying it’s okay for child to live with cockroaches, his sister spits in Stacy’s face. His brother is sadistic and in the end got away with his behavior; no punishment because he was hurting hookers.

I am a HUGE fan of Dara Girard and I REALLY wanted to like this book! However this one right here was DULL and didn't make a lot of sense to me. I was VERY disappointed. The heroine was ANNOYING and the hero, for lack of a better word is kinda of WIMPY and strange. I TRULY enjoyed the previous tales of the Black Stockings Society, but this new addition is LACKING. Hopefully the next one in this return series will be MUCH better. Just MHO :-(

I'm not Sure

I'm not sure what to say about this book. I loved all of the previous Black Stocking books, I really think it missed its mark. It wasn't really bad but it wasn't great either. Too many things were going on and didn't seem to fit in the story. I'm still looking forward to the next book in the series. It can only get better.

I have only recently been introduced to The Black Stockings series. This is my least favorite so far. It wasn't horrible, but it had too much going on. I felt like it omitted too many explanations of key plots in the story. I will continue to read stories by this author, but this on just didn't do anything for me.
