Welcome to another collection of entertaining short stories from the beautiful Derbyshire hills. Fans old and new of Kate P Adams will delight in this intimate glimpse into the world of the characters that bring her novels to life, some of them not even human…
Can a murder from the past be solved when the only witness is a typewriter? Are the two skeletons secreted in the walls the ghosts that haunt an office only one woman dares to use? Christmas is a time for surprises, but can a chilly adventure in a maze really lead to one that will warm even the most cynical heart?
Throw in a portly and self-important cat imparting her wisdom to a newly arrived kitten, a female vicar plagued by hate mail, and a woman murdered in a room bolted from the inside when her only companion was the ghost of a 300-year-old duchess, and you have… well, just another day in the existence of Charleton House!
Hilarious, heart-warming, shocking – life in this particular stately home is always filled with fun, intrigue and good friends. Whether you read the stories all together or delve into them one by one, More Tales will make an excellent addition to your reading list.

This is such an amazing author. I always look forward to reading her next offering and this did not disappoint. Her characters always bring a smile to my face and the stories are always so enjoyable: an escape route after a stressful day. Kate’s writing is always natural and realistic making it easy to read and imagine you are there.
My particular favourite is “Dear Monty”, life lessons from a cat’s point of view – hilarious. It is always interesting to see life at Charleton House from the point of view of other characters who work there too.
Thank you for my ARC. I honestly can’t recommend you highly enough. Your stories bring page turning interest, laughter and joy to a dismal world. Long may your writing continue.
Although you usually should not judge a book by its cover, with this one…you really should.
The gorgeous kitty slumbering next to an antique typewriter is only the first delight of this collection of short stories featuring our favorite characters doing what they do best…pull us into an interesting mystery amidst historical settings. I have so missed these stories and was delighted to revisit these people and places again.
Although it was my pleasure to receive this ARC from the author, it was completely my choice to share my honest review.
I just love this authors characters and locations that she describes so well. This is a collection of short stories featuring her usual Charleton House cast that have become like old friends. From a living maze at Christmas time, to a swanky hotel in the next town, to a seldom visited study at Charleton House, these stories will delight as only Kate P Adams can. I have read all the Charleton House books and love them all. And just look at that adorable cover! Sit back and enjoy, you will not be disappointed.

More Tales From Charleton House is a delightful collection of short mysteries. I enjoyed each snippet of life at Charleton House. It is always a joy to catch up to Sophie, Mark, Joyce, Pumpkin and the rest of the recurring characters. There is never a dull moment in the Derbyshire hills. Ms. Adams spins intriguing tales in this historic setting. These shorter stories are perfect when you only have time for a short break!
What a delight! I can never hear enough about Mark, Sophie, and Joyce and the major and minor mysteries they get involved in. These short stories are perfect for some relaxed and in-between reading - as always, well written, and told with wit, snark and a bit of suspense as well. I received an advance copy and freely leave this honest review.
Another bunch of fun short stories that star our intrepid threesome of Mark, Joyce, and Sophie. These stories are quick mysteries that got solved in a short amount of time. They were all entertaining and fun to read. I love reading anything involving these friends and that take place in this historic house! Loved it!
Some of these tales are short, others several chapters long. A Christmas surprise in the maze, letters from Pumpkin (a cat for those not in the know) letters about the same thing written by different people and some murders thrown in as well. A very enjoyable read.
It was fun to check back in with Charleton House and see what they are up to. Many of the tales were of early on in the books and I loved that Sophia's mother was included. Enjoyed them all and I recommend reading.
Welcome back to Charleton House a place full of mystery and even murder. Short tales that will keep you glue to the pages as we travel back in time. Get ready to fall for the quirky characters as they make this place special.
It was so much fun going back to Charleton House. Old friends and a new friend in Sophie’s mom, Christine. Fun mysteries and some of my favorite cozy characters made this a delightful read! I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily provided an honest review.
This was an excellent book filled with mysteries from Charleton House, the historic home of the Duke and Duchess of Ravensbury. The book caught my attention right away. The characters were personable, and the stories had several moments of levity. If you like mysteries with amateur sleuths, wonderful characters and unforgettable stories, you like this book, which I highly recommend to other mystery readers. I received an ARC of this book, and the opinion expressed is strictly my own.
Those are short stories about members of the Charleton House "family". Sophie, Marc, Joyce and her new friend Ginger bring joy, fun and laughter into every story.
I throughly enjoyed these short stories. As a big fan of the series it was nice to see the characters in their own shorts and read their early interactions and current ones. Excellent writing.
Another delightful collection of stories, including some really heart warming ones. I always love getting other characters' perspectives and this collection included some gems. Keeping this within easy reach for a short comfort read before bed.
