In a secret Michigan Laboratory, an experiment developed a superior creation that was anticipated but not expected. He was the ultimate conception, a core life-being merged with avian. He was born with a gift, a rare one; the ability to fly.

His wings instinctively brought out the urge in him to fly, and Kellan's need to be free became his obsession.

When the dark, swirling clouds loomed one night, Kellan abandoned the place he had called home, taking to the sky in search of his freedom and to seal his heart that seemed incomplete.

Because Kellan's secret was too great for anyone outside the institute to know about, TC unleashed genetically altered Maniacs to bring him back.

Through independence, his amazing reality brought riveting adventures to a man he found and couldn't seem to live without. They get tangled with hair-raising suspense that adds heart-pounding tension to every attempt they make at living their unique affair. They faced uncertainty so hectic that staying together was the least of their challenges, and it caused many of their bouts with passion to spiral in and out of chaos.

Along their frenzied path to survive, hidden secrets surface about Kellan, prompting each move they make in order to truly set him free.
Could Kellan's one true love and passion to fly be the death of him?
It's a magnificently inventive adventure of menace, romance, and extreme erotic pleasures.

This is a must buy if only for that beautiful cover, but it is so much more! A secret lab hidden deep in the forest. A beautiful young man who has never known life outside its walls. Someone who believes in him enough to risk his own life to keep him safe. And sex. Lying down sex, standing up sex, sex on the beach, flying sex. Yes, if you had wings, you know you'd do it while flying! A fast paced, steamy, thrilling romance.

Kellan has spent all his 28 years in a secret laboratory, where he was developed as an experiment. Finally, he manages to break free and whilst on the run, meets Neil, a rich, lonely bachelor who lives in a secluded house by the sea. Their attraction to each other is instantaneous, but every time they strive for intimacy, the bad guys appear and screw things up. Kellan and Neil go on the run, yet Kellan is drawn back to the laboratory so he can further understand the secrets of his past.

That's it in a nutshell, and a fine story it is too. Very imaginative, with characters you care about (including the cute dog) There are genuinely scary monsters (Seekers) and mid-air battles as well as mid-air M/M loving, a healthy dash of romance and peril. I really wish I could have loved this story more, but there were reasons why I didn't.

First, the POV, which kept switching from Neil and Kellan and back again, sometimes mid-paragraph. I know other (famous) authors do it, but to be fair, I don't like it then either. To me, this trait distances the characters from the reader. It's hard to get into their heads when you're only allowed brief snatches inside at a time.

The prose kept switching tenses. It was like interference on a radio programme, distracting for the reader.

Some of the descriptions were a little too literal and on the mechanical side, almost as if the author were self-conscious or trying too hard. IMHO he needs to take a deep breath, clear his mind and just write, because he knows how to put a story together, how to balance a novel and how to ramp up the tension, but some of the clunky prose negated the effect.

I would love to have given this four stars, but I can't, for the above reasons. Maybe these factors would not bother other people, but as a reader who has parted with money, they bother me. However, I did finish the book and I see there is opening for another. And I will read it, because in the end, the characters are worth caring about.

My Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars

Take To The Sky. Oh my, I thought it was something else, like an angel from heaven coming down to his beloved human. Or how about a shape-shifter angel finding his mate. My imagination ran wild with that cover, naughty cover! See those feathers caressing Neil?

Then I read the blurb, oh my, it's science fiction and wow, happy me!

I opened, I read and blast from sci-fi heaven it's like reading an M/M twist to the X-files and X-Men combined! And I loved it!

Kellan, oh he reminds me so much of Warren Kenneth Worthington III and he is just as sexy, as sweet, as powerful, as tough and as gentle as could be. This made my heart go amok, I do so love my comic superheroes and Greg! thank you sooooo much! Love this, love this love this!

Oh, its action packed and erotic too, so yeah! Go. Kellan!

...and no, I won't reveal spoilers :D

I can say I haven't quite read a PNR like this one. Yes, I've read about mutated genes, etc... experiments on humans, but not quite like angel/birdman Kellan and his "talent".

The details in the book are extraordinary. I could feel his feathers, and me being a Wisconsin girl, I know what Lake Michigan looks like, so I could see and feel the water and their flights.
Feeling the intensity when the Seekers came and the agents came, and hearing the chopper blades, all brought the story to life.

They way Kellan was written, he was beautiful and vulnerable and their love story was so sweet. What I wasn't to happy about, was they kept GOING back for MORE! I wanted to shake them and say FLY AWAY!!! Also, it just ended. It left you on the edge of your seat, of course I understand, it's a series and they left you wanting more. I am not sure how it is going to play out, an ex- nurse with his angel living free, I guess I'll have to wait to find out.

I give this book a 3.75 stars

I had no idea what to expect going into this book. I had never tried anything from this author before. I knew it was M/M, about an angel and had a hot and beautiful cover. That's it. I am so happy that I took the chance with this read. I absolutely loved it. The writing paints such a vivid picture that while I read, the scenes played in my head like I was watching a movie.

This story is loaded with action from beginning to end. It has crazy fighting scenes mid-air and on-ground, escapes, guns, explosions. For the action-lovers, you will definitely not be left wanting.
For the sci-fiers, you're also covered. Kellan, a avian/human hybrid, was created and has lived his entire life in an abandoned insane asylum that now serves as a secret site for government gene experimentation. He's an advanced species, but not the only creation. The enforcers, known as Seekers, are a bat/human mix which feel no pain or emotion, existing only to serve the makers.

This is also a story of love. Kellan and Neil meet by chance, but they instantly feel a connection toward each other. In the midst of Kellan's battle for freedom from his makers, they begin to develop a relationship.

Deeply connected, they rocked together perfectly, one gave while the other received.

I also have to give a shout out to Dylan, Kellan's dog. Having a pet as one of the major characters gave this story such a heartwarming feel.

The only problem that I found with this book was some of the wording. Some things were over explained or repeated and occasionally the word choice didn't flow smoothly. As I stated above, most of the writing was excellent, allowing me to feel I was experiencing the scenes instead of reading them. I think this story would have been a five star read if not for those small faults. The storyline is completely original to me and it keep my attention the entire time.

This is book one of series. I am definitely looking forward to the next book.

Gregory Jonathan Scott, has done it agin with Take To The Sky.
He managed to capture my attention from the first page as Kellan Is escaping the secret laboratory he classes as a prison, where he has lived for the past 28 years, A man Genetically created for the government to use as a potentual secret weapon. Kellan, has angel wings, super strength, the ability fly higher than any bird and to kill yet you know from that first page there is so much more to this Angel.
Escaping the high security compound is his only focus until he stops to rest and comes across Neil and his dog Dylan. Immediatley you just know this is going to be a book your not going to be able to put down as the character development is outstanding and you have fallen for both men in a instant.

This is a true roller coaster of a read, your mind is constantly one step ahead of you wondering what is coming next. The tension at times is extremely high as there is action, suspense, drama and a love story you hope to god will survive what is thrown at them. Lets be honest the government is not going to allow a Top Secret weapon like Kellan get away without a fight and omg, do they fight. At times I could feel my heart speed up as I was expecting something fatal to happen to one of these amazing characters, yet all I wanted was for them to have a romance like any other couple if that was at all possible.

This author has a wonderful imagination, how he thought up this plot I will never know, It was interesting, captivating, Intriguing and down right brilliant throughout. His writing style has not changed at all, he still manages to write in a down to earth style which makes even the unbelievable very believable although he still manages to tease the reader with every turn of the page.

My only gripe is although the ending was extremely good I know there is going to be more and I want it now. I need answers, need to know what is coming next for this couple. I did say this author likes to tease his readers, the ending is a perfect example.

I can not recommend this read highly enough, this is a book with a difference, a story that will have your pulse rising and your heart racing, A love story like no other that will have you on the edge of your seat praying they will survive

If you haven't read anything by this author than Take To The Sky is a must Buy!!

Mixed feelings

I did enjoy quite a lot of this. This was kind of like sci-fi with porn. Kellen, the genetically manipulated flying man, escapes from the laboratory he had been born in and imprisoned in for 28 years. He finds Neil, who was a nurse and is now independently wealthy from an inheritance. The house is secluded on the edge of Lake Michigan. The men and the monstrous Seekers, bat like killers, are pursuing and find them.

There are numerous action scenes, captures and escapes and aerial battles. Kellen and Neil are determined to be together and stay hidden from the governments lackeys searching for them. So that was the good parts but I had a hard time getting through some of it. The author does need a bit more polish on his writing. There were sudden switches in POV, sometimes from sentence to sentence, as well as changes in tense. There were errors in grammar and punctuation as well as too many awkward phrases and odd word use.

The characters needed more prosaic conversation and thoughts. Much of the story was overrun with florid phrases and descriptions. Hopefully I won't offend the author, but I was laughing hysterically through many of the sex scenes. Kellen's gene manipulation gave him the ability to produce copious amounts of ejaculate. Some of the depictions of the sex offered highly amusing visuals for me. I sincerely hope the author intended to write it as tongue-in-cheek.

The pacing of the story was not smooth and also could have stood to lose some unnecessary detail. It ended up feeling far longer than it was, or needed to be. There were one too many confrontations with the evil creatures. Twice, Neil and Kellen were caught at the same location. Why would they go back the third time? But yeah, they did. It was still kind of fun, and even though sci-fi/fantasy/prn are not my preferred reading choices, I will probably read book two.

I have always loved unusual takes on mythical beings and angels, fallen or not, are my favorites. Kellan’s origin, being created on Earth rather than in heaven, was an original twist and provided a very plausible explanation for how a man could have wings, supernatural strength, and other bird-like abilities. Yet to the man he meets after his escape from the laboratory responsible for his existence, he is more of an angel than anything else.

Neil and Kellan meet and are drawn to each other, a camaraderie and trust later leading to a blooming romance. The romantic undertone and the occasional humor make this story lighter, when in reality it deals with quite heavy subject matter – shady experiments, immoral treatment of other beings, unsanctioned making of humanoid weapons.

Kellan, who is supposed to be the ultimate soldier, has everything he needs for that, except the spiritual and psychological makeup. Despite all that, he becomes a fierce fighter when he needs to protect his freedom and more so Neil and his cute dog.

The relationship between the two is relatively slow building. It would have probably progressed faster if not for all the imminent interruptions whenever they got down to business. As these interruptions are caused my helicopter attacks and devious, killing machine creatures, it rattles the two to the core.

With Kellan being not only unique, but also a very expensive military project, will the two find their way to a peaceful, uninterrupted relationship? That’s for you to find out while reading this amazing book! Take To The Sky is thrilling, action packed, yet at the same time sweet and hopeful, it makes a great read and you should definitely try it.

I wanted to like this book

I was pretty excited to read this, since I enjoy the genre and (i'll admit to being a bit shallow) the cover was hot. But I just couldn't make myself like this book. I was tempted several times to not finish it, but I did.

My biggest complaint was that the sex scenes felt clinical and weren't enticing at all. When you are in the throes of passion, I just don't see anyone thinking of phrases like "exchanging specific genetic material", or "ejaculate in me".

Next, I kept being pulled out of the story with questions like:
1. Is Neil empathic, and has a connection to Dylan? Or does he just anthropomorphize to an insane degree?
2. How can Kellan give directions to the TC building using road names as a landmark if he's never been outside of the grounds, and never used any roads?
3. If Kellan's wings are built like a bird's, then how does he sustain flight upside down while carrying Neil and Dylan? That just isn't aerodynamically possible, and Kellan's life was supposedly all genetic manipulation - no magic involved
4. They are in the U.P. and trying to escape the U.S. Government, why don't they fly into Canada and hide there? By doing so, they can at least make the folks searching for them try to avoid an international incident...

And it goes on! I won't be continuing on with the next book.

This futuristic tale of a relationship between Kellan and Neil was interesting and entertaining. When Neil first saw Kellan he thought an incredible angel had fallen from the sky. Scared and taught to be afraid of the outside world Kellan didn't know what to do. Once the two started to trust each other the adventure has only just begun. The fact that Kellan can grab Neil at any time and fly him around is only one advantage of his boyfriend having wings. The other is a little too erotic to talk about here. Lets just say that the sex scenes were magnificently written, a little different and should not be tried at home...haha! I thought this was a terrific fast paced story. The characters were wonderful in there interactions. I loved all the action and the attention to detail that was written in those scenes. I thought it was an absolutely amazing story over all and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh, I almost forgot the story wouldn't have been the same without that wonderful little character Dylan. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

This is coming up as a paperback but I downloaded mine from Amazon so you just have to look for it in your electronic reader to find it. Oh, it also has a beautiful cover.

Where to start -my feelings .
Honestly I fell into the pages from the beginning
When I saw Kellen's open his wings the massive
Wing span his strength and courage poured from him.
Neil - who was what Kellen needed, between them both + Dylan ( Neil's dog )
they made a perfect team .
Their feelings for each other showed the first time they met .
Their joining in the air - in the bed - well most places is beautifully
written .
I was drawn into everything in the book - I know I was also wrapped
up in Kellen's wings watching Neil's facial expressions of love as he was looking at Kellen
Very interesting story line - beautifully written - with stunning characters
.
Kellen would be a majestic sight to behold .

This needed an editor...or, if it had one, a different one. I shouldn't have to stop and figure out who is thinking what because it switches POV literally mid sentence. Very distracting when otherwise, it had a great premise and solid start.

I really wanted to enjoy this, the premise is great, but I just couldn't get into the story. This wound up being a DNF. I made it to about 35% and skimmed the rest just to see how the story played out. The cover is beautiful.
