Black Mafia Romance done right!
A smidgen (bucket) of violence. ✅️
Mafia-Mafi-Mafi-Mafia ✅️
Passionate put it on her smex.✅️
FMC turning from victim to Badassery ✅️✅️
MMC who doesn't like her tears ✅️✅️✅️

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 to Asia Monique

I loved so many things about this book I don't even know how to put it all out there. I was pouting over everyone's luck with an ARC and then poof a copy dropped for me. expert writing here...

💐 I didn't know what was going on at first with the FMC and the secrets were like ahhhhh. But it was brilliantly done to show the evolution from victim to badass. Loved her growth!

💐 This ish felt like a romance! This is how you build a legacy and foundation! This is how an author makes me fall in love. The characters being already in love and not running from it was so refreshing.

💐 angst and conflicts were either external or personal internal but not internal strife with one another. They were partners from jump and that made the story more rewarding.

💐I love a MMC who is locked in from jump. I swear it wasn't friends to lovers but; upon first meet you are my soul mate and only love.

💐This is a Mafia book through and through. There was crime & violence & blood in the name of family business

💐 the sex scenes were really good

Overall: Asia has a conservative but vivid way of writing. I was sucked into the fast pace of the story immediately. Fast pace story, but the plot is nonchalant like our MMC, the Sinful King. He didn't just talk about it he was about it. I love a MMC who is quietly unhinged. Like chuckling while dismembering someone if they disrespect your girl type, quiet unhinged. It was perfect. He was perfect

Quotes
"I may be Irish but I'm a Black man and I'm a Black man first"...yessss daddy!!!

"My tears were only safe with him. My heart. My life. My… everything"

“You feel what you do to me, goddess?” I moaned, licking the inside of her ear. “Fuck… this pussy is my lifeline.”

"Getting lost in this woman had become my favorite pastime years ago and I never planned to come up off her, no matter what the fuck we go through."

"She’d cried herself into a deep slumber in my arms. Real fucking tears. And everybody had to die about it."

4.5 / 5 stars

This was a highly anticipated novel for me. I love this series—something deep, okay? So I’m biased lmao. I’m not about to get on here and lie like I don’t love Asia Monique’s work down lmao. So we’re starting at a minimum of 3.5 stars and either working up or staying there. That being said, this was a 4.5 for me. The only reason it wasn’t a full 5 is because the people who needed killing weren’t killed in this book, and the extras who were introduced were.

Blair has a tragic and depressing backstory, but I do wish we could’ve gotten a little more from Caden. Like, no, it’s not his book, but what the heck was his obsession with his “cousin”? Yes, he was a predator and a repeat offender, but what was it about Blair that had him stalking her—and why was the Pastor cool with it? Sorry, I needed a little more detail or something there, because while I know some people are just evil and vile, why was the Pastor sacrificing his child like that but still “protecting” her in a way? I also didn’t really like how the O’Sullivans didn’t step for her. Like… what was the reason, other than “not my monkey, not my circus”? Because idk, if y’all are these men of integrity, don’t draw the line at child abuse. Idk, babes.

Sean. BIG SEAN. Lol not the rapper, baby—this was a MF’ing Man. He was vulnerable when he needed to be, the muscle when necessary, and was doing Blair in like a husband should. My only complaint is, while it’s a business and technically a group project, I don’t like how much he left for others to take care of. I get that he wants to show others he respects them and believes in their decision-making, but chileeee YOU THE BOSS—BLAST EMMMM 🗣🗣🗣.

Viv still alive 👎🏾
Landell still alive 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
Blake still breathing 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

Like damn. Who did y’all kill? Cus WTF. It’s a lotta bodies that need dropping, and that’s word to Blair’s raggedy mama. Like sorry, y’all can’t preach loyalty and blood ties but not kill folks. Sean needed to give the girls a deadline—I’m talking Rian book, chapter one, first sentence: I want Landy Wandy 💀💀. Viv needs more than a cold shoulder, I know that much.

This was much more violent than the Barlowe’s for sure, and I’m assuming more loose ends were left for Echo’s and Rian’s tales, but I would’ve liked more complete resolutions.

ARC Review
4.5 ⭐️

I was anticipating Sean and Blair's story from the little glimpses we got, and it didn't disappoint. What I liked about them was that they were already in love, so we got to see how their love grew and strengthened. The fact that they stayed loyal to each other all those years even when they had to hide their love and couldn't physically be together was everything.

Asia did such a good job writing both Sean and Blair, I don't even know which one I loved more. Sean loved Blair down, and I appreciated how he allowed and encouraged her to be her true self. Blair was such an interesting FMC to read, she was so calculating and smart. My girl deserved the love and family, and I'm so happy she finally realized that and got everything she wanted in the end.

I also loved getting to see the progression of the other O'Sullivan family siblings and their partners and being introduced to all their cousins. Asia knows how to introduce side characters and make us want more from them!

ARC review: Every time I think I have found my favorite couple in this series, Asia one ups me! Blair and Sean’s story was so layered and complex, yet simply beautiful. I liked the switches between the past and present because it helped create a fully developed picture. There was very little drama between Blair and Sean and their initial conflict was nipped in the bud early/quickly and I appreciated that so that we could focus on the real issues that lied ahead. Karma was definitely served up to every deserving person in the end and that was satisfying to read. I also loved the way Sean’s siblings loved, respected, and protected Blair, regardless of what they knew/thought was going on with Sean and Blair romantically. Even Sean’s father clearly had a soft spot for Blair. Asia was also great at subtlety updating us on the other siblings and some characters from her other books without it taking over the main characters shine. I am looking forward to Meechie and Rian’s books. Don’t leave us waiting too long please, Asia girl!

Tough read

This book was really hard for me to get into. I was confused as to what was really happening for the first 10 chapters, then it slowly started to come together. I’m also not a fan of it flipping back and forth between the past and present throughout the book. There were way too many characters (over 20 by my count) and storylines to keep up with. Halfway through the book, I started to lose interest and found myself skipping through. This is my least favorite of the entire series, but it won’t stop me from reading the rest. Asia Monique is still one of my favorite authors and her pen game is still strong.

This seriessssssssss. The world-building and interconnected storyline is chef's kiss. Sean O'Sullivan stood on business from a teenager. How can you be so sure and unwavering, tender with a lot of violence. I call that balance. I love just popping into this world.

Format: e-Arc from the author
Romance tag: open door
CN: sexual abuse (molestation), assault, rape, religious abuse, violence (knife and gun), DV, death of parent/grand parent, misogyny, torture,

ARC Review ~ i was waiting on Sean and Blair book and it didn’t disappoint. I love how with each book in the series we see the characters grow and the plot continues to get even more interesting. it’s also interesting to see how all the characters past and present lives intertwine especially in the book, violet and esmeralda sharing trauma had me shook now i’m wondering how they interact act in the future since esme is basically family now. blair definitely deserved for someone in her family to protect her growing up and her mom and brother definitely failed her, her brother thinking keeping quiet was the answer had me heated but i’m glad he understood the error of his ways, her mom didn’t deserve to go out like that and i wish she took heed of blair warning. i was so happy when blair dad and abuser got what they deserved. sean was such a good man, i loved how attentive and caring he was and never played about her safety. i can’t wait for the next books the teasers in the epilogues got me seated.

Getting back to this series feels like coming home. We finally get the eldest son of the O'Sullivan family's story and so we got to see some of our fav couples.

I even enjoyed the flashbacks and I typically hate those.

Solid entry into the series. Ms. Asia Monique is the queen of black Mafia romances.

Yet another great addition to the Mafia misfit series. I love that Blair and Sean’s relationship spanned over so many years and we got to see it. The way they loved and supported each other was just 🥰. Plus the found family aspect of this entire series will always be my favorite. There were quite a few different storylines that had me wanting to pull out a chalkboard to connect the dots but still enjoyable. Theres also a setup for so many other different stories. Liam & Esi? Siobhan & Zaid? Demetrius Cannon? I’m here for how many ever stories come out of this group.

All is Fair in Love and Crime

I was given the privilege of getting an ARC for this book.

Many go a lifetime and never know or find true love. To know at an early age that your heart will only beat for this one person seems unreal. But not for Sean and Blair; destiny had other plans. A chance encounter in their teens locked them in with each other for life. He's her safe haven; she's the air he breathes.

Sean, now the head of the family, is faced with betrayal from within. Blair, fierce and loyal, is determined to stand by his side—while also settling scores of her own. Together, they navigate the dangerous world of organized crime with unwavering devotion. Sinful King is a gripping ride from start to finish.

I was anticipating this read from the snippets we received from the previous book. Miss Asia did not come to play!! The O’Sullivan men are the ish, and Sean is bae for real, for real! 😍 Having to grow up quickly due to what he experienced in life, made him the boss that he is. He has always been the one his brothers looked up to, and the one who took care of business. After meeting Blair and seeing that terrified look on her face, he knew that he was meant to protect her. Sean and Blair were locked in from the moment they met and let nothing stop them from getting their happily ever after.

Blair had a rough upbringing due to piss poor parenting! 😤 Pastah sir? Why were you okay with these things happening to your child? Why did you not do more to stop him? What was wrong with Caden in the first place? Ughhh….. 🤬

Those experiences turned Blair into something she never imagined. Strong, fierce, fearless, and yet I say violent? 👀 Blair was ready to show Sean and the world that she was not one to be messed with anymore. That she would be a boss in her own right.

Lawd, the drama, secrets, lies, and manipulations going on up in here. Then the bodies started dropping, but not enough in my opinion. Cause Landell, Vivianna, and Blake got me looking at them sideways!! Miss Esi, is she on the up and up as she claims? Mr. Demetrius chile….. He just comes out of nowhere, knowing everything about everybody, and is moving all the chess pieces around to his will. What did he tell Finn and Violet? Cannot wait for his story. Rian’s too, cause there is so much still to tell with the O’Sullivan clan. Love this series!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Sinful King
Asia Monique

Sean & Blair are perfect for each other. It’s not a question of if they’ll defend one another. It’s more like don’t force their hands. No matter the trepidation they may feel, they’re intentional about the foundation being built.

Basically, from the moment Sean meets Blair their fate was set. He has and would forever do whatever is necessary to keep Blair happy. Sean holds no resentment toward Blair’s brilliance. If anything, he wants to magnify and encourage her skill sets. She’s an astute asset. Sean takes his role and responsibilities very seriously. He doesn’t allow the family business to distract him from the tenderness his wife requires.

Blair is about her business. While she is a mastermind behind the scenes, she knows when Sean’s assistance is needed. Working in tandem with mutual respect is what keeps them solid.

One of my favorite scenes, is when Blair shows up unannounced at her father’s church to expose the truth. Her actions were deliberate. In my opinion, those actions were justified. Blair is leading this mission, but Sean is never far. He’s always there when she needs him.

This is the second book I’ve read byAsia Monique. I find her writing to be dark, but with pockets of levity. There’s always a lesson lurking around or between the words of the pages. Beyond the nuclear plot line, there are always points that connect.

Thank you for the ARC! Congratulations on around successful publication.

Sinful King-5/5

Sinful King is the seventh book out of the Mafia Misfit Series, and it was worth the freaking wait!! Asia Monique knows how to write a damn mafia book! We get introduced to Sean O’Sullivan back in the fourth book, Sinful Desire and Blair in the fifth book, Sinful Obsession. We knew that Blair was a sore spot for Sean due to the problem that happened in Finn’s book. (Don’t wait to spoil it so read it for yourself.) But reading this book is where we can see they have an ass of history! I love how throughout the book, Asia took us back to key moments in their lives. From the time they first met, Valentine's Day, to college and more. I was smiling the whole time reading this! I love their relationship. With Blair’s family, my heart went out to her because for her father to be a “preacher”, he was truly the damn devil himself. And what shocked me the most was that the twist with her dad, I was truly disgusted! The topics are super heavy but handled with the most absolute care. I love the two sneak peeks we got towards the end that really got me ready for what’s to come!

Make sure you get your copy of Sinful King when it comes out on May 19, 2025!!!

Asia thank you once again for letting me read an ARC Copy! You the best girl!!

The King and his Queen

Imagine meeting the love of your life at 13 and maintaining that relationship, sometimes in the shadows, until you get your HEA. Sean and Blair’s love for one another was next level! Everything about this book was so good. I loved that Blair ultimately got the family she deserved. I love how vulnerable they were with each other through their combined grief and trauma. They communicated so effectively and effortlessly it was a thing of beauty to read. Sean and Blair have a soul deep kind of love. This isn’t a “falling in love story” but rather a “what comes next” as they were already in love so you get to see them be an active couple. Finn and Violet being the ying to Sean and Blair’s yang was chef’s kiss. The flashbacks really helped to flesh out the whole story and gave great context. The overall storyline was excellent, and Sean made sure all of Blair’s dragons were slayed. You will root for some of the side characters to get their own stories as well. This is a found family story and the way the O’Sullivans love is absolutely the best! Enjoy!

A beautiful, emotional, and powerful love story.

Sinful King was everything I hoped for and more. Sean and Blair’s connection was so raw, intense, and deeply rooted in years of love and loyalty. Watching their relationship grow from childhood to adulthood, through pain, trauma, and healing, was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Asia Monique did a brilliant job of showing how love can protect, restore, and empower.

I especially loved the themes of found family, emotional resilience, and female solidarity, it was beautiful to witness. The way the past and present intertwined added so much depth to the story(I’m even surprised writing this because I don’t like past and present mix in chapters)

Sean was such a protective, attentive hero, and Blair’s strength made her a character I won’t forget. Still waiting for the bloodbath we were promised Caden went down way too easily 😒. And Blair’s father? His death was far too quick for the pain he caused. That man deserved so much worse.

This series holds a special place in my heart so I may be biased lol but I really enjoyed this book. Not going to lie it took me a little bit to grasp what exactly was going on plot wise which could’ve been due to the fact that the story kind of starts in the middle of the plot & then it switchs from past to present & tells you how we got to where we are with not only the plot but also the romance & bond between the two characters. Speaking of Sean & Blair baby the way they’re romance started & evolved was beautiful. Sean had literally been protecting her from day one & would not change a thing about that. I also loved the found family trope in this because Blair’s birth family trash & the way the O’Sullivans & anyone attached to the O’Sullivans accepted her from day that was cute. The other thing I loved about this book was seeing the bond between the women in this book form. I think we’re nearing the end of this series and I’m kind of sad lol.

I’m not going to lie, ya girl was confused for over half this book but I stuck it out and saw it through lol. I read the six previous books in this series but felt like I was dropped in the middle of the book trying to play catch up on what was going on.

What I liked about this book was seeing how and why Sean and Blair have lasted so long through distance, time and trauma. The mafia side of things really had my head spinning. It was hard to keep up with everyone and remembering who played what role (and I typically enjoy stories like that/multiple POVs in a book ) but for some reason I couldn’t quite keep up. I also really liked that they were each others first and only loves and they communicated well with one another. Finnegan’s book still remains the best O’Sullivan book in my opinion however, I enjoyed the Moretti’s and Bianchi’s a lot more. I’ll be back around when Rían’s book drops!

I have loved every book in this series. Sinful King was everything I needed from the series and more.

Blair went through hell as a child with a nonchalant dad and a pushover forr a mother. Her meeting and becoming friends with Sean was what she needed. His family was the family she never had. I love how his family looked out for her. Her mom was proof of everything you shouldn't do in a relationship. I felt bad for what happened to the poor lady though.

Sean did not play about his Goddess and he let everybody know it. He was so attentive and caring to her. I always thought his character was mysterious and this book answered so many of the questions that I had about him.

They were perfect together and I ate this story up. I see that we're getting a book eight for this series as well as a book for Echo. I can't wait to read both books.

Sinful King

I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. I appreciate the time this author has taken in writing these last few novels and not rushing the stories so that they are fleshed out and have me wanting more and waiting for the next book in the series to be released.

I loved me some Blair and Sean. These two fell in love at a young age and Sean was determined to be her protector. Their love for each other was unmatched and had me smiling reading the way they interacted with each other and how well they knew each other and could easily identify each other’s emotions and thoughts. They were truly in sync. I enjoyed getting to catch up with the rest of the O’Sullivan crew and I can’t wait to see what will be coming next after reading the bonus scenes.

ARC REVIEW:

Fated. Kindred. Attuned.
Two souls deeply and irrevocably connected. Sean and Blair were destined to be together. Past trauma, betrayal and a web of deceit threaten what they value most - their family. Bound by love and driven by purpose, Sean and Blair learn to wield their power together-while dismantling the forces that endanger everything they hope to build.

Sinful King is a seductive, dangerous, and passionately intense novel. The story centers two complex and layered characters as they navigate the delicate balance of love and power. The love between Sean and Blair is genuine. It was wonderful to see how their love grew and changed over the years. Their chemistry is electrifying. The two are in-sync in mind, body and soul.

something about Asia Monique? SHE DOESNT MISSED

This books was everything that i wanted and more, the bisexual dilemma of not knowing who i want more between Blair or Sean was HUGE. Every time that i could not think on another way of them making me love them they will make me scream of excitement.

Asia Monique should write a class about MMC and how to properly write a husband and a partner that actually respect you not only cause he love you but cause your worthy of it as a woman.

Many times this MMC dont know how to respect women unless they love them and im glad that Monique writes her man to be actually educated and understanding people. Just a masterpiece on loving your characters and write them as you wish they treated you

The only way I can explain why I rated this book so low is that there was just TOO MUCH going on.
First of all, this book was WAY too long. It felt like there were WAY too many characters and plot points. I was completely overwhelmed and often lost. And because of that, I couldn't even enjoy the dynamic between Blair and Sean. Every time we would cut to an intimate scene or moment with them, it just felt so disjointed.

And then I am feeling all of that, and only like 25% into the book. The last half of the book was an absolute STRUGGLE to get through, and that has just never happened to me before with an Asia Monique book.

I am sad but as always, I continue to read because I LOVE this author and this series. On to the next...

Do you ever get lost in a book and someone tries to talk to you but they don’t get your attention so they have to shake you out of it that was me this entire book.

An FMC that can hold her own and is not afraid to be that Bi$&h. Eeek this was soo good.

Blair and Sean’s openness with their feelings was so refreshing.
An entire chapter had me crying. The way the author wrote how Sean cared for Blair and how she too stood ten toes down for him, ugh.

This authors writing is superb and I honestly loved everything about it.
I cannot wait for the next installment in the series.

Also, Demetrius is ♥️. That Man gives BDE.

Telling me that i have to wait until December to get Rían’s story IS FUCKING SHAMEFUL! Asia Monique did a NUMBER on me with this book babe. The way she writes her FMC’s and their stories is so inspiring and i really just don’t understand why these books are not SO MUCH bigger than they are. Booktok worried bout the wrong shit, THIS is where it’s at. The emphasis on being black in a white dominated field, the way that overcoming TRUE hardship is portrayed, the lack of miscommunication tropes/3rd act betrayal 👏🏾👏🏾 like!! you can’t get better than 2 unproblematic MC’s that make you want to ride at dawn for them! Asia Monique got a #1 fan outta me!

To fall in love as teenagers and for sixteen years be the the only person that you want, Sean and Blair didn't want no one else but she had issues at home and Sean and his brothers became her protection at thirteen years old. Now grow ups and she is about to make her enemies pay for all the hurt they did to her, Marriage to Sean was all she ever wanted and it was happening and he has been wanting this forever now being the mob boss he was doing his job and taking care of her protection and problems to cause that's what you do for the woman you love. I loved from the beginning to the very end.

Sean and Blair!!!!!!!

First, the whole series is everything!!!! Now we get to see the oldest OSullivan brother.

To love someone from the age of 13/14 but never really be able to act on that love!!!! Whew!😥

Blair wanted to prove herself as worthy even though Sean was already head over heels in love with her.

All the mafia business comes to head and forces them together. And because they were already in love, it only sped up their timeline.

So many answers. So many trials. Loved it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
