This was AWESOME! Gawd I hurt for Darcy! She's been through hell and back. Like the universe won't give this girl a break. First she her husband is a piece of shit and beats her so bad she miscarries the baby he doesn't even know she carrying. Then in the same moment she discovers she has these powers she has no idea how to control and in the midst of it all passes out and awakes to find her parents dead. She spends a decade in jail only to come out and the only living blood relative she has hates her for the death of his sister. Her ex husband and his daddy have a hard -on for making her life a living hell. A stranger comes to town and in the midst of falling in love with him and her uncle warming up to her she loses them both and her loving aunt all within 24hrs. WHAT. THE. FUCK!!!!!! I am anxious to start book 2.
Angel's Breath (Book 2)
This story was just "okay" to me. I do like that Darcy showed up right on time. I also like the explanation of how the powers are manifested. However, Richard seemed to be kind of a ditz, and it made listening to this story a little painful at times.
Earth Angel (Book 3)
Now we're back on track. This was definitely much more exciting than the last book. I found that I was confused for a moment because Kyle's fathers power transferred to that lunatic Lawrence instead of him. But considering his father's DNA was floating around in that mad man, I guess it made sense. Father Webster (is that his name? Maybe not. Doesn't matter) was a complete fanatical, monstrous lunatic. And his apprentice, though not AS bad was no better. Darcy and Richard showed up right on time to save the day (thank Gawd). Can't wait to see what happens next!
Angel Tears (Book 4)
Wait! Neil (Darcy's boyfriend/lover) had a child?! That he knew nothing about until right before that idiot sheriff shot him and they all died in Darcy's flames?! WHAAAAAAAAATT!!!!
Well now that that is out. Poor Serena! loses her mom and her Dad within a week! My Gawd. All of these nephilim are destined to live doomed lives. So glad Darcy, Kyle and Richard found her. She's on the right side now.
Angel of Darkness (Book 5)
So originally I was wondering if the entire story was going to eliminate the Grigori we've read about in the previous books . . . But then they showed up . . . and showed out! It was perfect! And Detective Hollingsworth had the trait all along. Go figure!
Darcy ends up taking Serena to the west coast and starting a new life, caring for her as if she's her own. They don't have Neil but they have each other. Richard goes back to Seattle with his girlfriend Stacy and his life falls back into place. Kyle goes back to Chicago and surprises his wife. Detective Hollingsworth transfers back to Brooklyn and he an Alders become an unstoppable team. Everyone gets their own version of a happy ending (I LOVE happy endings). This was a great ending to an intense series.
For the most part, I enjoyed this series. There were times I just couldn't pick it back up... I had to force myself through it. This author seriously needs a proofreader. Many (many) mistakes were made from spelling and grammatical errors, calling characters the wrong name, repeating things, and plot holes.
Ignoring all of that, I enjoyed the story itself. It was an interesting concept.
It was a nice surprise that the pace was action filled. Would be a great mini-series or even could go on as a T.V. show. It is unusual that the four different narrators were all well put together & didn't step on each others toes. Thank you for the great read.
I only read the first book in this set. I didn’t enjoy the characters & it felt more like a rough draft than a finished book. There was too much back and forth between the past & present. A lot of the back story came in the middle of the book & by then I didn’t care about it and skipped paragraphs & some pages.
Very enjoyable series. Love the characters and the way the story unfolded. Hard to put down once I started but don't rush, enjoy the multiple plot lines and the way they weave together
I chose this series because I enjoy reading about the supernatural and fantasy. I was hooked from the first word. I read the series in record time because I couldn't put it down! I would suggest this series to anybody who enjoys a good read.
A really good set of stories all linked together through the narrative, characters and events that take place. There are people who have magical powers and they are linked to the fallen angels. The stories follow these characters and tell their stories and how their powers affect them and those around them. Action, thrills, danger, love, friendship, hardship, disasters and plot twists abound. The action is well paced and keeps you hooked from one book to the next. A great read.
Wow!! What an amazing set of books!! I will say, yes, I am a christian and I have no regrets stating that openly. The reason for that statement is for the basic premise of these books. There have been a few authors and some movies that have used the book of Enoch as the basis or launching off point for their stories. This author has done so and I was no where near offended by his writin. If anything I found them to be enlightening, in a personal way.
Now after saying all that I hope I have not turned you off to the rest of this critique. The characters were well thought out, especially in regards to their back stories. The entire series was how it seemed each circled around another or were touched by another. There was always a connection even from the lightest of brushes. Yet you found even at the end how all the strings tied up.
I do not want to ruin the story for anyone. What I want to do is to create a thirst for these marvelous books. Trust me in this one thing. Once you start you will not want to let you for this story does not just invite you in...it grabs you and you quickly become a part of it.
I hope your experience with this collection is as great as it was for me.
Fallen angels cause havoc until some of the New York police begin investigating. Action on several locations in the Southwest, Seattle, Chicago, and New York keep the action rolling along.
A set of 5 books all telling the stories of people who are unwilling host to a variety of angels and their troubles in dealing with the results of that hosting. You have the good guys (trying to help), the bad guys (who want to use the power to take over the world) and a variety of others.
I'm in the middle of reading book two. Interesting read, so far. But ... maybe the author should look into hiring a proofreader. Example: Stacy is referred to as Darcy, who is the character in, "Angel Fire" ("Angel's Breath," chapter 18).
I enjoyed "The Complete Book of Fallen Angels." It keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through the book. There was nothing, I didn't like about the book. I would defiantly suggest this book to other readers.
