The inimitable Baby brings a humorous spin to the holidays in a cheerful board book fit for trick-or-treat bags.
It’s almost Halloween! How should Daddy carve the pumpkin? So many expressions to choose from! What should Baby be—a princess or pirate, ballerina or clown? When the jack-o’-lantern’s ready (looking suspiciously like Baby), it’s time for a little ghost to head out in the slightly scary night. But fear turns to excitement as the pumpkin fills up with treats. WOW!

What would you like to be on this Halloween? There are so many options but you have to choose just one of them. This board book shows the relationship of parents and children.
This isn't really a five star read but the author is so popular at my house she kinda deserves a 5.
Halloween read about an always naked little boy that chooses his costume, carves a pumpkin and learns that candy is delicious! Stranger danger? Nope not here!
After reading Fa La La last year and not being particularly impressed, I figured I was done with these books about the precocious, half-naked baby. But the library had this one, so I thought I'd give it a try. It's actually not too bad. It basically explains the concept of Halloween to very young children, showing them that there's really nothing to be afraid of. Concepts like trick-or-treating, costumes, and pumpkin carving are all covered to varying degrees. (I especially liked the bit about the pumpkins, as it could also be used to teach facial expression recognition.)
So... maybe I was a bit hasty in writing off this series. I still don't understand why this poor baby has no clothes on. Maybe readers just need to go with it...
Would be great for a little kid a little unsure about Halloween: the baby in the book gets to choose costume plus how to carve the pumpkin. The baby scares itself and then smiles, plus learns how to Trick-or-Treat. Great learning book for little about how to celebrate the holiday.
I read through a whole stack of books and my daughter barely glanced up from the toy she was playing with. But the second I opened this one she was all smiles and totally captivated. And she's been just as excited every time we've read it since. A cute little Halloween book where the baby picks out a pumpkin and goes trick or treating. We love it! Bonus - it also comes in a Spanish edition. :)
Not much of a story, but I expect simpler for young readers..
This is about a baby doing Halloween things, the last page just shows & names Halloween related stuff- so a new reader can learn some words related to Halloween. It also has 2 pages that show things, and have the name underneath (emotions mostly for jack-o-lantern faces and costumes).
Very cute board book focusing on Halloween, and nothing too scary for young readers. No blood/gore, but perfectly appropriate for small kids as the book is targeted at of course.
Leslie Patricelli's bilingual board book, in English and Spanish, is a hit for the littlest readers. The naive art style of illustration, done in vibrant acrylic colors, is very appealing. The worries and the joys of Halloween are covered through sentences and words, covering sounds, exclamations and expressions in both languages. This belongs in any board book collection, with several extra copies on the display at Halloween
Not super interested but great book to pick out how to carve your pumpkin. Costume choices aren't fantastic IMO. Does depict boy having girl costume choices as well as "scary" options (vampire and ghost). Other trick or treaters dress as somewhat scary characters as well (Frankenstein, witch, green monster, werewolf and lion) but have smiles. Skeleton at one door, witch opens another, pink monster opens third. Mild fright scare due to little boy being nervous at first but ends happily.
OK. book for very small children even a bedtime story (The Young Ones That Still Like Bedtime Stories)
Very Nice for "The Young Ones That Still Like Bedtime Stories"
OK, a very good and cute storybook for small children even makes a decent bedtime story, with a nice none scary ending that makes the Halloween Holiday time more Fun and Enjoyable ... A Very, Fast Read !!!!
How exciting to find a wonderful new writer-- new to me and my students, that is. This lovely Halloween book has so much going for it. Fun, age-appropriate bilingual text, delightful illustrations and a sweet overview of Halloween. Immediately went back to the library to order as many of Patricelli's books as possible.
Jack borrowed this book from the Ashland Public Library. Even though he doesn’t really know this, it warms my heart that he picked a Halloween book in the middle of February.
This book is super cute and packed with activities and vocabulary words related to Halloween. If you have an emo heart, too, you will like it.
We're so proud of you for reading "Boo!" all by yourself! You learned something wonderful - that being playful and silly with others makes everyone smile and laugh. Even when things feel a little scary, like the baby in the book, it's okay because we can be brave together. You can use your fun "boo" games to make your friends giggle at school. Keep reading, sweetheart! We love you!

read this book while it was slow at work, and yes, I did read it so I could get closer to hitting my good reads goal. its a lot harder, when you have to read textbooks instead of the novels you actually want to read. but it was a cute little kids halloween book, but it also was a little weird.
This is a wonderful, cheerful Halloween read for younger children. This book has bright colors and simple illustrations that are very cute. It is short story that tells about costumes, pumpkins and silly things about trick or treating.
