It's time to rise, Champions of Adessa.

The beginning.

For twenty-four years, they kept me imprisoned in their laboratory. The Croisés attempt to break me through whatever means necessary. They won’t stop until I give them what they want; my goddess gifted magic.

Fortunately, my captors make the mistake of kidnapping a wolf shifter from the Forntida pack. They unknowingly bring my fated mates to their doorstep and start the beginning of the end — for them.

With five fiercely protective mates by my side and a pack behind us, I finally have a life worth fighting for.

And fight we must.

Our enemies are more than they seem and legends long past are becoming our future.

A war is coming, and I am one of the Goddess Adessa's chosen champions.

I am the beginning.

S.A. Mackenzie is back with a new release. It’s a why choose with fated mates, an FMC who has been locked up her whole life and 5 protective mates.
I read this book in one night. I loved it. It a quick and fun read. Talia is a perfect blend of vulnerable and strong and her mates are all so perfect for her.

I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!

This shifter romance had such a beautiful take on it. You have a FMC who has been through so much and has every reason to be hardened but life is full of choices. This was probably the best supernatural romance I've read in a long time. Lucky girl ends up in a why choose situation with amazing men who are fated mates. I love how they compliment each other. I also love that the author takes a more romantic take on the steamy scenes. it was beautiful and made me tear up many times because in the end, it's all about family. I can not wait to see where the rest of the series takes up. I highly recommend this story.

Decent book

The beginning had me in tears. Her acceptance of the physical abuse she had no control over. Her mom dying. The emotions the first part of the book evoked in me, felt so real. Once her first mate appeared though, it was like a deep dark cloud, just evaporated, allowing the strong, determined rays of the sun shining through. Once she escaped, I found the book to be kinda boring. It lost the resonance I felt deep inside. The connection just kinda went dull. The plot of the story seems good, but there wasn’t really anything to keep the interest in each additional chapter. Pretty much, she escapes. Meets her mates. Heals their wounds, emotional and physical. Mates them, learns she’s the start of a huge arse war, and once she basically breaks the seal on the war, her part of the story ends? There was also a small chapter of where one of Draytons pack members, an uncle to his half brother, wanted to stage a coup, but they knew about it before hand and they didn’t even get to a fight. It was more of, “we know your plan, and it failed before it even began…”, and one small chapter where the Croises came onto pack land to kidnap her back before they were thwarted, quickly too. There just wasn’t enough substance to the story after her rescue. Those two spots were so quick, the sex scenes I found a bit boring. I hoped for more after that heart wrenching beginning. If I could, I would rate it 4.5.

Such a wonderful unique storyline. This is a why choose romance with wolf shifters, but also some unique ones as well. The main character is a peryton shifter who has been held captive her whole life. Once she is free she meets some amazing mates and learns she is the key to helping win a war between humans and shifters. Loved all her mates, including a grumpy one that takes a bit to come around. Love the world building. Such a great start to this series.

Another good mix of shifter and storyline, I enjoyed the book and read it within 2 days!
This author is really good at being unique in their storyline, it's not the typical shifter book which I certainly enjoyed!
I am a sucker for a series so was excited that this isn't a one and done as I enjoy watching the characters develop and the story become richer.
can't wait to read the next installment!

Talia is such a sweetie! I like that she's a special type of shifter and her mates are wolves with special senses. It's love at first sight for all but one who tries to fight fate, but he comes around eventually and proves himself. The fellas are all protective of Talia, and she grows stronger in their love and care. It ends with a HFN, knowing there's more to the story with a different set of characters and intertwining storylines.

Wow

What an amazing start to this series. Seriously. I absolutely loved this book. I know the author said each FMC will he getting her own book. I just want to know how that's gonna work? O feel like we got nothing about Alaric's past and I want to see an HEA from these characters POVS.

This is a phenomenal start to a new series! I love the premise of gods and goddesses, mythical shifters, and of course, sexy mates for our FMC. These characters are unique and well written, and even the not so agreeable mate is lovable. I can't wait to see where the next installment takes us!

Novel storyline-Enjoyable characters

I really enjoyed this one. I liked it’s a standalone-ish? That it’s an overarching story but we know that this set of folks is together. Overall-great introduction to a new to me author.

Mythical Shifters

Unfinished series. Reverse harem about a group of wolf shifters who stumble on their fated mate who has been imprisoned by an evil human cult her whole life. She is a perryton shifter (which is a flying doe) who has many powers including physical and emotional healing. Turns out she is blessed by the shifter goddess, and is chosen to be the first of three mythical shifters to prepare for a war with the humans (created by an opposing God). One assumes the next books will follow the next two. This is a basic plot, but flawed by numerous plot holes, time jumps and awkward prose. It just doesn't flow and is difficult to read. The FMC was kept in tortured isolation her whole life, but is surprisingly aware of Pack life and the outside world, unless it's an idiom, then she doesn't have a clue. The world construct differs from others of the genre in that they use cell phones to communicate, and after meeting her five wolf shifter mates there are basically no spicy scenes. It's a miracle she ever seals her bonds at all.
