This is a very thorough book on the various phalaenopsis species. The bulk of the book, 75%, is dedicated to defining what a phalaenopsis is and how, over the years, it has been breed into more modern hybrids that we see today. It is very specific and has chapters dedicated to exact colors and explains how breeders have been able to improve and express colors such as : whites with pink bases, standard yellows and oranges, reds and purples, and the variegated harlequins. Photos are shown for each color on how Moth Orchids have been breed to improve flower size and color since 1960-2005.

The last 25% is what I was most interested in reading because it was informative about the necessary lighting, watering, temperatures, using of fertilizers, insects and diseases, and such things as repotting. This is a very detailed book with many photos. Although it had many helpful facts about culturing Moth Orchids, I think it would be most helpful and appreciated by serious breeders or hobbyists.
