This is a very interesting book about the lives of The Lennon Sisters. They talk about their lives in entertainment and also mention stories of their Mother and Father, Nana, husbands and children, too. The book was first copyrighted in 1985 and I was fortunate to read the revised edition of 1995.

I recently saw the Lennon Sisters perform in Branson, MO at The Andy Williams Theater with The Osmond Brothers. It was a big treat for me to see both of these groups perform.

I was glad to have watched The Lennon Sisters on TV when I was growing up. I think they should be very proud that they portrayed wholesome and beautiful girls who grew up to be admirable and lovely women.

Loved the Lennon Sisters as a child. Six years younger than Janet, I waited each week to hear them sing. I played with their paper dolls and dreamed of singing with them. I always wondered why they left the show. To me they were the Lawrence Welk show. Lovely book and I enjoyed hearing each voice. Nice to read they are what they always seemed to be.

I was so happy to get a copy of this book. When I was young I watched them all the time on the Lawrence Welk Show. I have been lucky enough to see some of them in Branson, Missouri at the Christmas show. I was so surprised to see all of the things that happened to this family, and how they still managed to stay happy and dedicated to their faith. The book shows the journey of The Lennon Sisters from the beginning to when the book was written. I cried through some of this, but also had many chuckles. I am so thankful these women shared their life through this book.

What a wonderful autobiography-memoirs of the famous Lennon Sisters, the popular Lawrence Welk singing quartet. I grew up watching the Lawrence Welk show, and this was such a heart warming read. We often went to Pacific Ocean Park in Venice beach on the west coast of Southern California, near Los Angeles, and saw the LW ballroom where they performed. I enjoyed reading of their exceptionally large family, how they got along with each other, their wonderful loving parents, and their growing up in the limelight from their young childhood to beautiful women. They remain close to this day.

I have had this book sitting on my bookshelf for years--literally. It has called to me on several occasions, but I never picked it up. If finally called my name one too many times and I decided to read about these famous sisters. Most boomers grew up like I did watching these four girls sing their hearts out on The Lawrence Welk Show. Diane, Peggy, Kathy, and Janet came from a large strict Catholic family of 11. So strict in fact that the thought of eating meat on Friday was appalling. They were definitely products of their time. According to the sisters, in between their professional work, they were also required to do household chores and watch their younger siblings. I enjoyed the book, but don't believe that their lives were all roses. They alluded to some issues, but never fully explained the circumstances. The part that seemed most real was when they discussed the tragic murder of their father. As a very close family, it must have been devastating and perhaps a little too painful to relive those terrible memories. Nonetheless, you could feel their pain and shock at the loss of their father. While their mother worked hard taking care of the house and family, he seemed to be the outgoing parent who liked to have fun with his children. He also managed his talented daughters. This book was written almost 40 years ago and it would be nice to know what happened next.

I grew up like so many others watching Lawrence Welk with my family. The Lennon sisters were a favorite of mine one so I was looking forward to reading this. What a tribute to a family that epitomized life in the 60’s. I remember when their Father was killed and how shaken I think we were that that could happen to such a family.

Well- written story of the life of the Lennon sisters in their own words. I found it very interesting. I did a lot of supplementing with YouTube which added a lot to the reading pleasure.
