After years of living under the cruel thumb of her father, Julie Winslow is ready to take back her life and find her happily ever after. There’s only one problem – she’s a thirty year old virgin and embarrassed as hell about it.
When her best friend suggests hiring an escort to not only help rid her of her pesky virginity but teach her some moves in bed, Julie swallows her pride and calls an escort agency. She books a date with the sexy and gorgeous Cal.
Court Thomas has been saving his identical twin brother’s butt for years. When Cal calls, begging him to take his place with his latest ‘date’, Court reluctantly agrees. Unprepared for his immediate attraction to the beautiful but fragile woman, he’s rocked by Julie’s request for him to take her virginity.
Determined to change her mind, he continues to impersonate his brother. But when Julie’s warm kisses trigger a desire he’s never experienced before, will he convince her to wait for ‘Mr. Right’ or take the sweet gift she’s offering?

Don't let the cover fool you, it was light, cute and hot. And if hotly adorable wasn't a thing before, it is now... Who knew smut could be so comforting.
This was a pleasant, if not predictable story. Virgin hires an escort to take her viginity and finds her self falling for him. Sweet story w/ some pretty good dirty talk and sex. Plus it was free..Wahoo!!
About time! I'm fed up of reading books where the female role is a tall skinny model type. This woman was actually bigger than a stick insect and it was lovely to read.
My review contains spoilers and they're mostly my thoughts as I went with the book... for more, visit Punya Reviews...
I picked up Ramona Gray’s The Escort basically for the title because I’m a sucker for gigolo romances... and, maybe, also because this was a freebie. Fortunately, I found a neatly wrapped up short story. Not a lot of melodrama and there might’ve been some questionable moments, yet it was very enjoyable.
A rich, lonely girl, Julie has spent all 30yrs. of her life under the thumb of her strict, control-freak father. He was a famous artist who lived as a recluse till his death, with only Julie for company. Julie has had the opportunity for an education but she was never given the chance to explore the world (... or men, if I might add) the way most women at her age do. Not only this guy didn’t let her mingle with people but also, he toyed with her self-esteem, which has gone down each year with his severe criticism on her looks and weight. No wonder Julie thinks she’s fat and ugly.
Ever since the recent passing of her father, Julie has been all cooped up inside her huge mansion, feeling lonelier than ever. She just doesn’t have any direction to her life. I found it rather unbelievable that she lives all alone (who maintains that house or Julie’s financial matters, among other things?). Her only best friend aka Miss ‘know-it-all’, Mary, is the one who regularly stops by to check up on her. One day, Mary informs Julie that she can’t live her life like that. Moreover, she has a virginity to discard! Mary’s Solution? Hire a male escort and be done with it in a trice! Then Julie can go explore the world and its male population to her heart’s content.
Easier said than done, especially when Julie really doesn’t feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. When she takes a look at those hot males on an escort agency website Mary opens for her, she isn’t particularly feeling confident. Oh she wants to do ‘it’ (again, I found it hard to believe that she never masturbated either :/), even zooms in on one sexy green-eyed buff named Cal, but will Cal be interested in her? Even with that exorbitant price she’s going to pay him to do the deed? But with Mary’s insistent Julie gives in at least to try and do the introductory thing, courtesy of the above mentioned escort agency.
Meanwhile, Cal, the escort in question, has an important appointment that he needs to keep. Problem is, he can’t cancel this ‘date’ without making his employer unhappy. This might even cost him his job! Yet there is money involve in this appointment. This might also give him the directions for something new, so Cal seeks out the help of his twin brother, Court. Court, though looks exactly like his older twin, is nothing like him. He’s more of a relationship guy and loyal to people he cares for. He’s into construction work, owns a company too. Court is wheedled into this mess by Cal, who asks for this ‘favor’ since he doesn’t wanna lose his job. Loyal Court can’t say ‘no’ and ends up meeting the ‘cute girl’ his brother spoke about.
(I was also thinking... er, Cal’s family was OK with him being an Escort? Seemed like it.)
Unfortunately (or fortunately for Court), he falls for Julie the moment they met. For Julie, she’s just glad to be able to stay calm in front of that sexy hunk! Their first meeting is kinda awkward but Court tries his best to put Julie at ease, instantly knowing that she’s not very worldly. It’s proven, later, when she tells him of course, thinking he’s ‘Cal’, leaving Court rather... in awe. He finds Julie a refreshing breathe of air and his protective instincts goes on high alert.
Complications couldn’t have been avoided no matter what, as there was deception involved. Court, not being able to help himself, convinces Cal to set up one more ‘date’ with Julie. He doesn’t want her to lose her virginity this way. Court thinks it should be a gift to someone who means something to her, and that someone Cal definitely is not. In fact, Court doesn’t want Cal anywhere near Julie. Oh boy, pretty complicated situation I say! More so, considering the fact that Court is forced to lie to her, not liking one minute of it, when he wants her so much! They were beginning to form a bond that you don’t form with a man you paid money to have sex with. Not good at all.
This eats at Court, making him worried over what’s going to happen when Julie finds out. He loves spending time with her, and he doesn’t want to hurt her, let alone lose her. *sigh* Things become even more complicated as they inevitably end up in bed. Now Court must decide if he wants to take a chance and come clean to Julie, to know if there’s any hope for them considering the situation they’re in.
I’d say the rest of the story was pretty well done. I did believe in that connection that Court and Julie had on their first meeting; that it was here to stay. I certainly didn’t mind the HOT sex scenes. ;) Court particularly was kinda dreamy... I absolutely loved him! Julie might not be your favorite if you don’t like your h’s shy virgins, especially in a contemporary setting but I didn’t mind all that much. Overall, there was this sweetness to the story that I would’ve missed if I hadn’t read it.
Now what I want to know if there would be more installments or not. Have to say wouldn’t mind some more Court-Julie for myself. 4 stars.
“The Escort” is a freebie and can be downloaded from most major retailer sites.

This was a hot read... nothing heavy here. Court was adorable, very sweet and sexy. Julie was a 30yr old virgin (little hard to believe). If your looking for a steamy quick read, then “The Escort” will do the job. Not much character building, but it does have a story and is not just about sex. It has the feels! I really enjoyed this.
Very cute novella...I love the way court handled Jules' insecurities....the book was full of misspelled words otherwise it would've been a 5star novella for me despite its predictable plot.
I loved the premise of this story, twin brothers switching places in a escort situation... Love it. Sadly the execution didn't live up to expectation.
I HATED these characters. Julie is the most pathetic character I've ever come across, I have no issue with a 30 year old being a virgin, that didn't bother me. What bothered me about her was that she acted like a 15 year old. It felt like her father kept her locked in a bomb shelter her whole life, I mean who is that naive about sex? And her self-deprecating personality made me want to punch her. It actually made it difficult for me to picture her as pretty, and while Court wasn't a terrible character I found him annoying because he liked Julie.
The side characters annoyed me too, Mary is an annoying flat character whose only purpose in the story was to perpetuate Julie's annoying insecurities. Cal was just pathetic and a bit scummy. I also found Julie's relationship with her father a bit creepy.
This book really wasn't my cup of tea and I really do wish that Gray did more with an interesting concept like this.
3.5? I liked it but will.I reread? Probably not. The h is a 30 😲😲 year old virgin who hires a escort to help her with her little hyme n problem. The escort that should have met with her had a scheduling conflict so he sends his twin brother instead. The size 16 h and the H Courtney meet and date and fall in love
No ow drama and some parts were meh but quick fun read
Well this was adorable. A cute little story featuring two main characters over thirty, insta-lust, a fake escort, body positively, some excellent steam and dirty talkin.
I enjoyed The Escort by Ramona Gray. The storyline of hidden identity, twin's switching places, and a 30-yr old virgin hiring an escort to lose her virginity was interesting.
Julie is a great heroine who is caring though very insecure. Court who pretends to be his escort brother Cal is like a rugged white knight who I think is a wonderful hero for Julie.
There are moments I enjoyed in this book like
Overall, I'd recommend to anyone who likes a fun and easy read.
You have to love a story that brings two people together who might never have met under normal circumstances, but once they do, oh man, is it hot! Ramona Gray kept it classy though. It being the whole girl hiring a male prostitute thing! It was liberating, empowering and scary for her, but I loved reading about how Julie finally was able to start working to take control of her life! After a lifetime of being controlled by her father, it was time. I loved the friendship that she had with Mary and the sisterhood they shared. I want a friend like Mary! I was a fan of Julie's right from the start of this story and absolutely loved how it turned out. I think you will too! Did I mention how hot the relationship between Court and Julie make this story? So hot, so real! Seriously, get this story!
Overall, I enjoyed The Escort and I'd rate it 2.5 stars. If I had to choose a favorite character it would definitely be Court. I thought he was rugged yet tenderhearted and sweet. I liked how he seemed so in to Julie and adored her the way she was. I liked Julie but as the story went on, she grated on my nerves a bit. I knew she was insecure about her weight and sexual inexperience but her constant need for more assurance even after Court tried to encourage and uplift her got old after a while. I wanted her to be a little more confident. And I definitely wanted Julie to stop stammering every time she opened her mouth and reminding me how much of a burden her virginity was.
It took a lot longer for Julie to discover the truth about the twins so there were some parts that dragged a little, to me. The resolution came quickly as well. They didn't talk for a few days, Court's siblings spoke on his behalf, and then all was forgiven. I wanted Julie and Court to reconcile but I was hoping for something a little deeper.
Elements of the writing itself was probably my biggest issue with The Escort. The grammar, spelling, and punctuation were all good but the repetitive word usage grew tedious. Julie was constantly described as trembling, having a look of anxiety, pale (or pink from blushing) or eagerly doing one thing or another (eagerly opened her legs, eagerly kissed, eagerly, eagerly, eagerly!) There were many instances where things were spelled out in TOO much detail. (Vanessa guided Julie towards her desk. Vanessa sat at her desk. Julie took a seat in front of Vanessa's desk. Vanessa folded her hands in front of her and placed them on the desk.) That's not a direct quote but the point being that "it" or "she" or "her" could've been used and the reader would have been able to follow the story just fine without having the same names and items named over and over. After a while that got on my nerves as did Court's eyes constantly being dark with desire or his inability to control his erections from the mere sight of Julie.
Sometimes I didn't quite grasp what things meant like "She shifted experimentally against him" or "naked look of desire" just to name a few. I found myself being taken out of the moment with that "huh?" look on my face trying to catch the meaning or get what was sexy about that.
Anyway, these are my opinions and rambling thoughts about The Escort. I thought it was enjoyable overall and would recommend it to readers who are in the mood for something light and quick.

Wow what can i say about this boo? All i can say is i bloody really enjoyed it and had my mouth watering lol
This is my first book i have read by Ramona Gray abd sort of different to other books i read.
After being under the thumb and controlled by her father when he die Julie Winslow decided to take control of her life.
Julie is embarrassed that she is still a virgin. When talking with her best friend mary, mary suggests that julie higher a escort.
Julie was convinced at first but she bits the bullet and goes for it.
She picks her man Cal.
Cal is book that nigt and he begs his twn brother court to take his place. court didnt want to at first but in the end he sure as hell didnt regret it.
Court falls for julie but has to play along to be the escort. After jules finally loses her virginity there seems to be a connection with court and jules.
Court decides to tell her truth to jules but cal is there when he goes to tell her.
Julie is heartbroken and embarrassed that court lied to her but will it be a happy story for them? You will have to read to find out
This book had me watering at my mouth i could keel the drool lol.
Prior to beginning this book I read a few reviews and debated if it would be for me. The innocent girl lacking self esteem paying to lose her virginity blah blah. This book was so much more than I expected. For such a quick read I was truly invested in all of these characters. Julie is sweet and innocent, but shows hints of her inner strength through the entire book. Court is ruggedly handsome with what I see as gentlemanly charm and a bit of naughty underneath. The sex is scorching hot and had me panting multiple times. The storyline wasn't cliché or forced. It was very romantic and endearing. I cannot wait to see the stories for all the other fascinating characters we were introduced to. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a sweet, sexy romance with just enough angst to keep you on your toes.
Escorted, this sure as hell ain't. I was going to give The Escort two stars despite the entirely unrealistic depiction of fledgling sexual experience (not to mention, escorts with identical twins who owe money to crime lords - not terribly realistic either) - but the fact that they fell in love after, literally, four days... OH PLEASE. Give me a fucking break.
Oh, and that cover - don't get me wrong, I prefer it to the typical shirtless gym bunny, but it has no bearing on the story. The hero never wears anything but a shirt and jeans. I like my covers to be at least slightly related to their books.
The Escort could've been a really positive story about a woman learning to embrace her sexuality, but it turned out to just be fluff.
The Escort 3.75/5 stars This one was recommended to me and I wanted a quick, fun read before I started NaNoWriMo. And let me tell you, this hit the spot. I thought the fresh plot and the dynamic of Court and Julie was just adorable. And the build up was smartly done.
It was steamy and all, but still managed to give me so many fluffy feels. Certain details could've been tweaked a little bit. But the broad strokes? Flawless.
Oh and ps, totally seen Cal/Court as Rafael from Jane the Virgin. Yum.
This book was okay. The characters could be a little annoying. Julie was made out to be a bit too pathetic... not from her circumstances but from the way she acted and spoke. I think we were supposed to sympathize with her but somehow that didn't happen. Court was a bit too stupid for my tastes. It should have been fairly obvious that if he liked her, he had to tell the truth a lot sooner.
Anyway, the book isn't great but it was an easy enough read. Plus, it was free.
Well I really liked this book. I might just try out other books Ramona Gray has written. Though my list of to read books is very long and never ended. But I do like adding good authors. I really liked the story and really got caught up it in. So when something went a way I did not like I got rather peeved for a bit until things went towards my happy ending.
She needs an escort. He saves his brother by taken his place, but starts to like her and fall for her. He treats her like a lady and gives her some hot exercise. Of course his lies do come out and she doesn't like that at all. Will she forgive him? for the answer on that you have to read the book. It is great read so you won't regret it
This had way too much going on, especially in the way of cliches, with little of substance to back it. •Smug, self-important protagonist explained by shallow employment - CHECK •(Intentional) Mistaken identity - CHECK •Crime/Mob Involvement - CHECK •Immediate romantic escalation from first contact - CHECK
A bit silly and a lot predictable......mind you I was coming out of a 5 star book fog, so pretty much any book would have come up short in comparison to my previous read. Having said that the characters were likeable are there were limited irksome misunderstandings or mis communications beyond the obvious 'pretending to be my twin brother'. 2-3 blushing Virgin stars.
I’m new to this author and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised when I read this story. The author has a very nice writing style that pulls the reader in and allows the story to flow. I really liked the characters they were easy to connect with.
This is a very romantic read, with well written love scenes. I will definitely be checking out other books by her.
Not that i haven't read this before, it's just that the personality of the main characters (Julie and Court) are such a delight to read about. I love the close knit family and Court's kindness and love of his brother. The naughty and troublesome twin Cal and devoted little sister Melanie. So much fun to read about.
