Church Girl Gone Wild

Rate this book
What makes a good God-fearing woman go bad? And once she's gone, is there any way to get her back? Eva spends much of her life torn between the man she had and the man she has. On paper they both look like ideal husband material. But looks, as we all know, can be bought, faked, or photo-shopped.
Everyone around Eva seems to keep shoveling lies to bury their secrets. As Eva starts to dig for the truth she realizes it's impossible to stay clean, especially while playing in someone else's dirt. When she finds herself framed for embezzling from her own clients, her future depends on whether this "church girl" can adapt and survive the gritty, dog eat dog reality of prison to set right the one who's wronged her.

Discovered by actress Drew Sidora (The Game, Step-Up 2, White Chicks); Discovered by the actress Drew Sidora, Ni'chelle Genovese of Norfolk, VA is no stranger to the pen. Even though she's like a fish in water when it comes to being in the studio or behind the mic, she has proven that she is more than just your typical artist.

As a musician, Ni'chelle's main mission was to stay true to herself and beliefs. She's turned down impressive offers from Lil Kim's Queen Bee Records as a ghost writer and even passed on an exclusive recording contract with Bad Boy. Under the close mentoring of rapper Ice-T, Ni'chelle developed a writing style unlike any other female MC. She has since penned verses and hooks for the likes of Pink, Governor, Mike Bless, and Drew Sidora, but her heart lies in her storytelling abilities.

I really did not like joy this book. I rarely say that. It was all over the place. Not worth a second book and the ended was poorly written

This book was bad. I mean awful, I can't even lie. It was 15 stories in one book. What I originally thought I was going to read was a book about a girl growing up in a strict religious household, possibly a PK gone wild, but when I tell you this was everything else but that. It started off weird, like an underage sex cult, then had an ounce of normalcy, then branched into 10 different directions. None of it made sense! I can't stress enough that several times I wanted to give up on this read, but curiosity made me finish, just so I would know how many more weird turns it took. Needless to say, this was my first by the author, she left this book on a cliffhanger, and NO, I will not be reading book 2. However, I will allow her the chance to redeem herself and try another book by her in the future to see if this was a one off. Either way, for this book, 0 out of 10, don't recommend.

To start off, this book was EVERYWHERE.. At first, I was thinking, well maybe this book is about a teenager going rebellious because of their crazy strict religious parents. ones again, i was wrong by the title. This was book was confusing and more of the characters all sleeping with each other. Also, you can learn little bits and pieces of how the people from the church can be devious no matter what they preach. The ending of the book was already made in the beginning when the mom said she had three children. she never said whether the baby was dead or alive and then try to surprise us at the end.. Plus, character having a gay encounter and so is the main character. This book was more about sex, then having a conflict and/or resolution. the beginning of the book was about the sick of a family she had and then the end was about the third sister wanting an inheritance. so, she seduces someone who she said was her father and then it ends. WHAT?!?!??! IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.

I have loved Ni'chelle's books but this one confused me more than anything. Too many stories tangled together without a real tie-in for them to all fit together. Every time I picked up the book I felt like I was reading a different story. And the end did nothing but frustrate me. I don't know if I'd read a sequel to this one. But I'm bout to read another of her books so I'm NOT giving up on you girl... That one just needed some sweet little transitions to guide us from scenario to scenario... I see where u going with this... More suspense to the story and I like the idea but it just needs a little work. Press on...

Ok, so I went back to 65% and re-read from there but you know what, I still came to the same conclusion...it just didn't make sense. Sorry, I thought I missed something but nope. The book was a fairly good read but just too many sub-plots and themes. Way too many; everything from oral sex while smoking crack to trading your children, to pornography. Jeez. How and why Eva was incarcerated and subsequently "parolled" was bizarre. Way over the top.

This book was a little cray-cray to me.Lol I don't even know how to explain what happened in the book. Twice I started to put it down, but I finished it. If there is a 2nd book, I won't be reading it but I will try another book by this author.
