A brutal Frost King. A bastard fae bride. A bond neither of them wanted.
Everly Elarion never asked to be chosen. A bastard with a dangerous lineage, she’s spent her life surviving in the shadows of powerful men. Now she’s being forced to marry one.
Draven Ashwynter, the Frostgrave King, rules the Winter Court with an iron will and a heart carved from ice. Just when the kingdom teeters on the edge of ruin, the Court’s Visionary comes forth with a solution: the king’s fated mate has been found.
He’s meant to receive a match to his power. An equal. Instead, he gets Everly. She’s illegitimate, defiant, and the last woman who would ever kneel to a king.
She doesn’t trust him. He doesn’t want her. But fate never asked their permission.
As enemies close in and old magics stir beneath the ice, their cold alliance begins to thaw into something far more dangerous than desire. Because in a court ruled by frost and blood, love isn’t just a weakness.
It’s a weapon.
And when war comes for the court, it may not be the kingdom that shatters first.
Fated to the Frost King is a slow burn, enemies-to-lovers romantasy, perfect for fans of Shield of Sparrows, Carissa Broadbent, and Sarah J. Maas.
Robin D. Mahle started out as a pen name I shared with my husband for The World Apart Series, but since then, I've absconded with it to delve into the wonderful world of fairy tale retellings and fantasy romances with my partner in crime, Elle Madison.
When I'm not writing, you can find me spending time with my seven hundred cats and drinking wine by the barrel.
Genre: Romantic Fantasy ⭐️ 4/5 🌶 .5/5 🧠 6/10 🎵 Gods and Monsters by Lana Del Rey Noteworthy: Book 1 of an incomplete trilogy. There are no major triggers but it is a little darkish in tone. Insane cliffhanger! Available on KU.
I downloaded this book as a palette cleanser because I needed a break from all the heavy dark books I had read consecutively. I kind of expected whimsy from the title. While there was a bit, the overarching tone is a little darker than I expected. I really like the story here even though we are missing very important details. The last few chapters were diabolical! I suspected some of it, but definitely not all.
The characters are not particularly likable, if I'm being honest. This is grumpy/grumpy at its finest. Two traumatized souls tied by fate and fighting it tooth and nail. Even though they were tough to love, they were not tough to root for. By the time you close this book, you've got nothing but sadness, blurred lines, and questions. Sigh.
I would say if you are a fan of Ella Fields books, definitely read this trilogy!
It was phenomenal. It’s been so long since I’ve read a book that’s kept me on my toes or got my heart racing during an action scene. I’m flabbergasted. Baffled. Read this book in a day and I will be buying the physical copy. This is definitely something I would reread. The WRITING, the STORYLINE, the CHARACTERS, everything was so well done and just WOW. A slow burn that was actually a slow burn. A relationship that you could see progress gradually instead of just throwing them together. Crazy. The plot twists with the hollow, mana and unseelie, regarding Everly was just done beautifully. Reminds me of the cruel prince as well so definitely feel like if you liked that series you’ll like this one. I have zero complaints. Everything was so good and I feel like I’m being a bit redundant but I feel as though it’s necessary to point how just how impressed and pleased I am after having read this book. I can’t wait for December 26th when the third and final book is released. Going to start the second one now! I’m so happy!
❄️ WOW, this was such a fun read during a heat wave! I received an ARC for this book and I read the whole thing in a day. I love a good forced proximity slow burn storyline and this hit the nail on the head. Elle & Robin's banter is top tier between this sassy FMC and moody MMC and had me giggling while reading. I am very attached to the animal companions, especially Batty, and can't wait to see how they continue on with their adventures! I'll be anxiously waiting for book 2!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. (via the authors)
5 stars
When I first received the newsletter from Elbin regarding their upcoming book, my immediate reaction was to reply to the email asking for a friend if they had a street team.
"You are the Winter King, right? Or is that just a title they gave you because 'Blizzard Bastard' didn't have the same ring?" She may have been fated to the scary Frost King that did not stop her from giving him hell right back. (We love to see it.) The phrase frost twat made me giggle every time I saw it.
Batty hissed at him from behind the pillow, and I appreciated the show of solidarity. LOVED BATTY AND LUMEN.
And where would we be, without my control?" His eyes flashed with something I couldn't read. Loved this right before they had to share the *one bed* and then he finds something that causes him to ask who did this to you?
"Morta Mea." It was a warning. A demand. A plea. "Yes." Yes, I want you to stay. Yes, I will be the death of you. I will be the death of us both.
Long winded way of saying I loved this, the characters, and cannot to see what comes next in the world after that ending?!
I can’t even begin to describe how utterly awful the MFC is the entire. Book. Can’t stand her. Had I known she would be so repulsive, I never would have started it. This includes overwhelming selfishness, anger, blame, immaturity, never ending pity party, cruelty and more. If that’s your thing, you are in luck! If you are looking for a good book with a creative storyline, not so much luck.
Sadly, the storyline itself might have potential. It’s hard to say since not much happened here outside of showing what a total a hole the MFC was, pity parties for one galore and endless over the top dramatic unnecessary inner dialogue. However, even if the story moves in the next book, the MFC character destroys it. And frankly, it doesn’t look like author(s) can pull it off based on this one and other series.
So much to say. But so little desire to type it all out.
I will mention a couple things. What is up with the mention of the blinking. He blinked. I blinked. Um, yeah ok. I hope everyone blinked. Because it is normal and necessary and done all. day. long. No need to have mentioned it 42 times in this book. Yes 42 times. Who cares that they blinked. That’s like saying my nails grew, my kidneys were filtering. Yeah, just normal functioning body.
The ever constant nails cutting through her hands. To the point she dripped blood everywhere. FFS. It’s as obnoxious as the blinking.
Completely lacking creativity and originality.
I spent the entire time hoping he’d get on with it and freeze the MFC and push her over as well.
this is actually good??? for a romantasy i mean im pleasantly surprised. an actual slow burn and good writing we cheered and enjoyed thoroughly. i have read books by this duo before and i remember liking them too!
Marriage for convenience, forced marriage, slowww burn, and enemies to lovers tropes done beautifully! The world building and pacing were done well too. Magic, fae, monsters and a crazy ending.
I loved Everly’s feisty attitude and that her and Draven’s relationship progressed gradually. I definitely recommend listening to the audiobook! It was dual POV and a duet narration which I always adore. They did a great job and loved both their voices.
The last few chapters were action packed. So many questions and need to keep reading for more answers! This was a great start for an intriguing dark-ish romantasy series!
Thank you Podium Entertainment for this ALC! all thoughts are my own and I am voluntary leaving an honest review.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review and I couldn’t have imagined a better book to be my first ARC ever.
Mahle and Madison have done it again! They are really good at a slow-burn enemies to lovers romantasy and this book is no exception. As it is the first book in a trilogy the romance going from enemies to enemies with confusing feelings for each other is EXACTLY the pace I want my slow-burns to progress.
The book starts off running with Everly being summoned to the winter palace for the frost king to have his bride chosen from all the women in his court in true Cinderella style but this time a seer is the one choosing the match and it’s frustrating and dangerous for both of them! Everly has many secrets in her past but has been relatively sheltered in her more recent history so she often isn’t the most diplomatic in her reactions which just adds to her banter with Draven and the other characters. Draven is a cut-throat fae king in every sense of the word and seeing his cold exterior melt a bit (pun intended) for Everly was very entertaining. The “who did this to you?” Scene was perfection!
Mahle and Madison have a way of world-building where it’s not overtly complex, I can predict many of the twists by the time they are revealed, but where I’m still constantly working on piecing together the whole story. They reveal a lot of half truths of Everly’s past that make you feel like you know her while still leaving you in the dark in order to make the reveals shine. It’s masterfully done.
On top of all of this, they still manage to add enjoyable side characters like the animal side kicks, wolves and a cute bat! The seer, known as the Visionary, is also a very unique character that I ended up thoroughly enjoying. I love the idea of a throughly involved god/goddess that meddles with the destinies of mortals and the Visionary seems to have a direct line to the goddess and has moments of enjoying delivering this interesting fate while still having the challenges any seer with friends has to face. Makes for very interesting read.
Other than the ending cliffhanger (it’s not the worst cliffhanger) and the cliche title, this book was practically perfect and very enjoyable. It balances dark themes and real emotions while still maintaining a lighter read. I can’t wait for the next book and to really dive into the secrets that have been revealed!
As a writing duo, Elle and Robin do a great job of creating MCs (and even some side) characters with depth. They are never just a blanket, boilerplate good or evil, which makes them interesting to read. The FMC in this book was realistic in that she has real fears and her own coping mechanisms for those. They may not be healthy, but they're hers. She makes both good and bad decisions, but in a way that feels authentic to her character. They do a good job with portraying trauma and how one might try to ignore it, since healing is harder. For the MMC, he is a fantastic example of a character that wants to do good but sometimes must do terrible things to make that happen. My only wish was that there were more chapters from his POV because a lot of him is kept internal/close to the chest. The glimpses the reader does get are great, though.
This is a fated mates, the title should make that obvious, but it was done in a really refreshing way where both characters can acknowledge it (and it's inconveniences) while not making it the center of the story or a basis for insta-love. The building of their relationship is slow and therefore a lot more genuine for the reader. While there is a good dose of longing and a (too) brief bit of giving in to that longing, there is also no explicit content.
The magic system in this world is not overly explained but it's something that anyone who reads this genre of books should be able to understand. It also made me feel cold for most of the book- if you read it, you'll understand. In this world, there is also a lot of symbolism for how people are treated (or mistreated) that calls to mind real world social issues.
There are animal companions and I dare you not to get emotionally invested in them.
There are some side characters who have a lot of their own mysteries that I look forward to learning a lot more about in future books, because there is a lot more of this story to go- WOW, does this one end on a cliffhanger.
If you are a fantasy/romance reader and like complex characters who don't stray from their character just for the plot, witty banter, a lot of mysteries, and relationships that have a more organic feel, this is the book for you.
If you’re looking for a frosty romantasy novel where the romance is slow burn, and heavily infused with yearning then you have found the right book. Ready to meet a king in need of a queen? There is something that the Winter King is looking for, and a snarky wife with no mana? Isn’t one of them. But could she be exactly what he needs? Only time, and fate will tell. This book packs quite the punch. You are hit with drama right from the beginning. A wedding day with no bride (yet) that quickly becomes tainted with death. Fated to the Frost King is told from the first person dual POV. The majority of the story focuses on Everly, but we get chapters with Draven that help break the story up and keep us engaged. For us, Everly is overly snarky and sarcastic. The female characters being heavily snarky is a trademark of these authors so that’s nothing surprising. It’s to be expected really, but it doesn’t stop us from wishing that Everly toned down her animosity towards the world around her. She’s weighted down by the things that she’s endured throughout her life, but not everyone is responsible for her suffering. The deeper you go, the more you’re going to be sucked into this storyline. The animal characters will threaten to steal the spotlight, while the frost creatures will have you on the edge of your seat concerning the safety and survival of the characters in the story. The final chapters? Oh boy! “Gripping” doesn’t do this book justice. The final chapters will pull you to the edge of your seat and leave you with a cliffhanger that will leave you breathless one minute and borderline raging the next. LOL! Our jaw was on the floor and we nearly had a fit howling to know what happens next. We’re eagerly anticipating the next book in this series, because it can’t come soon enough.
A forced proximity through marriage, semi enemies but mostly just loath each other to lovers, hating each other until they realize maybe it’s something more than hate that makes them burn for one another? Sign me the heck up! I absolutely devoured this book in one 24 hour period. There is a beautiful icy magic system and of course the frost king (or the FMC’s preferred title of frost tw*t) is the most powerful in his kingdom that he must protect from monsters that are behaving abnormally and the constant threat of an unseelie attack!
This book features a badass FMC Everly, who may not have been raised with the manners befitting the now queen of the Frost court, but has the sass to put others in their place (even if sometimes it’s only an internal retort) and is headstrong and protective of those she believes need it, even if it puts herself in danger. Her biggest secret throughout the novel is that she doesn’t have the magic she needs to save the kingdom like the king and his visionary believe that she should. As more secrets are revealed and twists come about, we learn that maybe Everly hasn’t been the most reliable narrator and not everything has been as it seems! The ending left me falling off the cliff it set up and I cannot wait for the next book! My rating is 5/5 stars for this one!!
Thank you to the authors for the gifted ARC of this book, all opinions given are my own!

WHY DID YALL DO THIS TO ME?! 😭🤬😭 Just when the pieces finally start to come together, questions being answered, we're slammed with a infuriating cliffhanger & even more questions.
I absolutely loved this story. I loved the true enemies to lovers trope, forced marriage, marriage for convenance with an incredibly slow burn. The slow burn was agonizing but addicting. I had to read more, I had to know more, I had to see where they would end up & if their love would ever manifest. This had me on the edge of my seat.
The Frost King, Draven, is advice to find a wife to help an ongoing battle. Fae vs. monsters vs. the Unseelies. The wife is supposed to be fated to him and has her own "mana" aka magic to aid the king. Everly was chosen to be his bride but to his surprise this bride had no "mana". Both are unhappy with their martial arrangements but can't ignore fate connecting them. A connections grows between them, a bond unwilling to break. Draven will stop at nothing to protect his kingdom and help his wife find her mana that she is believed to possess.
This was such a great starter for a series. I can't wait to read more books that will be a part of this series. Thank you Robin & Elle so much for allowing me to receive an ARC copy of this book.
These authors are slowly turning into a rare auto-buy for me. The ending didn't really surprise me, but I was thoroughly entertained for the entire book. I knew I should've waited until it was finished though! I hate cliffhangers. But at least I'll have something to look forward to now I suppose :)
Fate is a fickle fiend, and it has Everly and Draven wrapped in her clutches.
Everly is an unorthodox queen who hooks her tendrils into you from the very first page, and Draven is a mystery wrapped in an enigma that I can hardly wait to see where his character development goes.
Fated to the Frost King was a fabulous addition to the Elbin lineup. The worldbuilding - incredible. The slowburn - amazing. The ability to have me finish a book in one sitting - like usual. This is a fantastic kick-off to a new series, and I'm already chomping at the bit for more.
I really liked it. I wish I had book 2. My only complaint is that the MMC and the FMC didn’t really connect or spend much time together for the amount they care about each other. I don’t feel like they know each other well enough.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS — Ice, snark, and a whole lot of fate-fueled tension.
If “I’d rather die than love you” and “too bad, you’re mine forever” had a snow-drenched, dagger-staring baby, it would be Fated to the Frost King.
Let’s talk Everly Elarion — our bastard-born queen of sarcasm and survival. She didn’t ask for this arranged mating, this frosty fiancé, or this terrifying new kingdom where one wrong move equals dead-in-the-snow real quick. But what does she do? She shows up in all her defiant, sharp-tongued glory and proceeds to melt a king made of pure frostbite. Literally and emotionally. Draven Ashwynter might rule with ice in his veins, but that man didn’t stand a chance.
Now enter the enemies-to-lovers SLOW. BURN. These two snipe, spark, and dance around their bond like they’re in a magical version of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, but with more snowstorms and shadowy assassins. Everly won’t kneel, Draven won’t bend, and yet somehow they keep finding themselves backed against walls, staring at each other like “oops, did we just almost kiss again?”
The world? Rich. The court intrigue? Cold-blooded. The stakes? As high as Draven’s cheekbones. And just when you’re feeling warm and fuzzy watching them soften toward each other, BAM — the authors throw in betrayal, ancient powers, and a war that’ll leave you clutching your snow-dusted heart.
Robin Mahle and Elle Madison did not come to play. They came to slay — and leave you begging for the next book like a starving fae at a winter feast.
Final verdict: If you like your fantasy frosty, your banter feral, and your lovers reluctant and ready to throw down (in more ways than one), this is your next obsession. Fate never asked their permission — but you better ask yours off work, because you won’t want to put this one down. ❄️👑🔥
Mahle and Madison are go-to authors of mine. Fated to the Frost King is the first in their new Frostbound Court Trilogy. I just finished book one and I am mentally preparing for book two like I just handed my heart to the Frost King and said, "Surprise me."
The authors know how to write a good (not just good -- great!) enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance. There is superb romance tension and witty banter between Everly and Draven. What I especially appreciated about Everly, despite the "my husband is my enemy" vibe, is that you could tell that she became tired of the fighting. She is a Hollow -- someone without magic and forbidden to live among the fae -- and she has been fighting for herself since she was very young. She is resilient and passionate but longs to be whole and healed: "I didn't want to go down this road again. Didn't want to add more wounds or scars to my soul. I wanted to believe that I could heal one day. That the darkest, most broken parts of me could somehow be stitched back together." I think this helped me relate more to Everly than some other FMCs in an enemies-to-lovers story who stay stubborn and angry far too long for my liking.
Other elements that I enjoyed in this book...
The world-building: Not only do we have fae (Seelie and Unseelie) and their courts but there are monsters, visionaries, and ancient magic called mana. The world is unique and a bit dark. I loved it.
The plot twist! I did NOT see it coming. Brace yourself, readers, for a cliffhanger that leaves a bit of a chill down your spine.
Fated to the Frost King is a fade to gray, true enemies to lovers fae romantasy and book one in the Frostbound Court trilogy—a series filled with secrets, fate and winter magic. This book has it all: amazing world building and magic system, fae court political intrigue, forbidden powers, morally gray fae and layered characters that are easy to connect with. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and Robin D. Mahle & Elle Madison pulled it off as flawlessly as the culinary mastery skills needed to craft the perfect chocolate soufflé.
The romance arc, character development and chemistry between our sarcastic heroine and cold-hearted ice king did not disappoint. They first meet as enemies at the alter, fated with a marriage bond neither of them wanted. After many pages of sharp slow-burning tension and reluctance, something between them slowly thaws into something more. We even have a protective “who did this to you?” moment from an ice king who would burn down kingdoms for her. One of my favorite side characters (besides a certain iconic baby bat with the cutest name ever!) is a Visionary who lost her earthly sight for supernatural sight. I love representation in books and was excited to discover that there is a blind, staff/cane-user side character in this story!
If you are looking for your next slow burn, enemies-to-lovers fae romantasy, this is it! Thank you Robin D. Mahle & Elle Madison for a copy of this ARC. I loved this book so much and can’t wait for book two! I’m obsessed.
Boy oh boy did I not know what I was getting into. Every time I thought I knew where the story was going, I got hit upside the head with something completely different.
The narrators did an excellent job portraying these characters. I felt the emotional nuance, the frustration, and the giving way of emotions.
Our FMC, Everly, will bow down to no man. Especially if that man has destroyed her family. So when she gets chosen as the next Queen she is SHOOK but remains sassy. I love the fact that she rains true to her character even as she grows. She is sassy, feisty, and determined to be more than her magical status.
Draven is a powerful King, who is struggling to keep all his people safe. So when he is told that his mate has been found and she will match him in power and save the kingdom… he jumps on it! He is completely flabbergasted when it is Everly that is chosen though and can’t stop being a… not nice word…. For long enough to get to know her. All of that changes as the book goes on.
I couldn’t stop listening to this one. The story was so good and new that I was sucked in and didn’t want to leave. The character growth was unreal (in the best possible way) and the story arc was amazing. The hook!!! Man I need the next book ASAP!
Fated to the Frost King is the first book in the Frostbound Court series and follows Everly, a fae outcast thrust into a world of politics, magic, and fate when she's suddenly claimed as the fated bride to the powerful and intimidating Frost King. With enemies on all sides and secrets buried deep, Everly must navigate a court that sees her as nothing—and prove that she's so much more.
I loved this book! Everly is such a strong and compelling character—snarky, stubborn, and full of heart. The wolves completely stole my soul; I think they might just be my favorite animal companions in all of fantasy. And Batty? I need her in my life, like, yesterday. 🥰
The enemies-to-lovers tension between Everly and Draven is deliciously slow burn, full of crackling frost and heat just beneath the surface—I have a feeling book two will be absolute fireworks between these two. The world-building is also rich and atmospheric, and I was completely swept up in it.
If you like fae courts, fierce heroines, slow-burn romance, magical wolves, and a dash of sass, this one's for you. Already counting down the days to book 2!
Fated to the Frost King was a fantastic opening to Elle and Robin’s newest series! The book follows our girl Everly as she is forced into marriage with the king of the Winter Court, Draven. Naturally, Draven is her enemy not only because she doesn’t have a choice in the marriage, but also because he is responsible for killing members of her family.
This book has some of my absolute favorite tropes- actual slow burn enemies to lovers, forced marriage, forced proximity and an adorable little animal side kick! I absolutely devoured this book. It kept me engaged the entire time- always waiting for the switch from enemies to lovers, but also to get some questions answered! Robin and Elle did a great job at giving little crumbs of info, but still kept me in the dark enough that the twist at end surprised me!
I also loved that we got some of Draven’s POV in there! There is nothing better than when we get the MMC’s POV in addition to the narrator’s! I’m hoping that, with that ending, we will get even more of it in the sequel.
I can’t wait for book 2 to come out to see how Draven and Everly move forward, especially after that big reveal and cliffhanger!

Robin and Elle have done it again! Another story filled with twists, turns, and beautiful world building. We meet Everly, who of course find out she is fated to the Frost King Draven, which of her is almost a death sentence, she is powerless and has a HUGE secret. We watch as she is forced into a marriage with her enemy, she needs to keep herself safe but finds herself drawn to her broody husband against her better judgment. Draven is also not a huge fan of having to merry Everly but his entire kingdom is in need of this marriage to save it. Draven is moody, morally gray, and secretly obsessed with his wife. Everly is fierce, strong, loyal and picks up little friends along the way. I can’t wait to see what happens next, especially after that ending. Thank you to Robin and Elle for this advance copy for my honest opinion.
I'm so fortunate to be part of Elbin's Hype Biscuits! I got to read an arc of FATED TO THE FROST KING by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison. Thank you for having me on your team and for the gifted e-arc!
This book! It's everything I love about fantasy romance. A true enemies-to-lovers story that is steeped in hatred, betrayal, misunderstanding, past trauma, and fear. There is nothing easy about this match, which makes their journey just special.
There are secrets, tensions, intense battles, tender scenes, loveable animal companions, and a surprising twist. The cliffhanger will leave you needing the next book now! It’s one of my favorite books so far this year.
I highly recommend FATED TO THE FROST KING to fans of romantasy, epic fantasy, fae fantasy, enemies-to-lovers, slow-burn romance, hidden magic, and amazing storytelling.
I really don’t know how these two do it. They manage to pull you in with just enough intrigue, and build on the story in such a beautiful way! I fell in love with the characters and I loved the dynamic between the MMC and the FMC. It’s giving a blonde shadow daddy vibes but in the best way, and with a little bit of ‘who did this to you’ 😍 I love the FMCs reluctance to care about this world, and it’s great because as the reader you get to grow to love the world just like her. It’s a little bit more spicy then their previous work, very tasteful and swoon worthy! 12/10, would definitely recommend to a friend, if you’re on the fence just do it!
Yes, yes, & even more yes. If you’re looking for your next enemies to (almost) lovers & sloooooow burn Romantasy, look no further.
Elle & Robin have done it AGAIN with a new series, new world, & new magic system.
The slooooow burn, the mystery, the intrigue, the TWIST, the FMC who is strong-willed, the broody, closed off but “will 💀 for her” MMC. Check, check, & checkkkkkk.
I absolutely enjoyed this book & devoured it in one sitting. Responsibilities, who???
The world building is complex, but at the same time it’s easy to follow. The characters are wonderfully flawed, but have slow growth (can’t wait to see where we go from here). The side characters are endearing. The “who did this to you?” moment had me squeaaaaling. You can’t help but fall in love with these characters.
I love a good seelie/unseelie fae book & this tops the cake for me. The ending came too soon for me. I cannot wait for the next book! (& the one after that)
Holy Cliff Hangers, I loved this book so much and I cannot wait till the next one! This book we get to learn the obstacles that we will be dealing with in the next book along with some rather huge cliff hangers. Robin and Elle also introduced us to the magic(mana) system and how they work.
Our main FMC Everly she was strong willed and always ready to stand up for her self and others. I cannot wait to get the backstory and figure out what is gonna happen here to my characters.
Draven, our MMC. 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I need the next book now have I mentioned this🫠
Tropes 🛏️one bed ❤️fated mates 🔪enemies to lovers Touch her and ☠️

4.5 because I'm real stingy with my 5th star. I always love the banter in ElBin books, and this book did not disappoint! There were times I actually laughed out loud. Other times where my feelings got hurt... I'm already itching for the next book! Despite being blondish I'm loving Draven...
Enjoy some highlights:
“Have I lost my footing on the pieces of flesh adorning your ballroom? How very careless of me.”
My husband. And an utter frost- twat.
“It would be unfortunate then, if any of them mistook me for something resembling prey,”
I had meant for the thought to stay internal… a plan that had failed superbly.
“If I could so easily be free of you, Morta Mea, I would happily kill you myself.”
A chilling introduction to these characters and this series in this true enemies to lovers fantasy romance with all the wit and banter along with tons of sass and fierce determination all set within a sentient palace with magic all around.
Perfect for readers who love seeing characters overcome past hurts and fears and being able to trust, even if slowly, while facing secrets and dangers around every corner. I loved the connection between the characters and the depth of the family relationships. I'm excited to see what lies ahead for them.
"...and there is nothing I won't do for the sake of my kingdom."
