This book had a lot of scriptures at the beginning and then full of the power of positive thinking stuff scriptures tacked on for the rest. I'm all for speaking truth to yourself and being positive, but this book feels like a bible study and a cheap self-help book collided, but they didn't mix.

Parts of this book reminded me of things that I learned years ago. The best part of my the time I spent reading this is the peaceful feeling of wellness. There is scripture in various parts of this book, which is very nice. it made sense with each lesson and was a reminder of. parts of the bible that I haven't reread for this year. I was also reminded of scripture that I read recently and/or heard about in a sermon. I plan on rereading the parts that I highlighted throughout the year. I really liked the confirmations at the end.

Inspiration

This book is great if you are looking to look at life with a different perspective. This book gives you the tools to make a negative thought a positive.
As someone that is not just Christian I found that the reference of just one religion a little difficult. I know that these teaching stretch way before the kings james version. Just wish it was a little more neutral.

This book is hard to follow... author goes from quote to quote without sharing wrap all thought. I think the ideas make sense for the most part but could use a rewrite with better transitions, narrative and explanation.

A Pleasantly Surprising Read

When I set out to read Taming The Tongue: The Power Of Spoken Words I expected a refresher on being careful about the words that I speak. However, I was pleasantly surprised when it actually discussed how my positive words can be life changing for others and also how other's hurtful words can negatively impact me. The words that you say and the words that you hear from others have the power to change your entire life. I was encouraged to seek ways to build and uplift others as well as guard against others' ungodly words. Remember: Adam sinned because he listened to someone else's words. Genesis 3:17 "Because you listened to your wife..." Eve listened to the wrong spoken words and it cost them both what they were originally intended to have. This book, though it could be formatted better, is a helpful, quick and easy read.

It was free and almost worth it.

I downloaded this book because I assumed it was about choosing the right words when communicating and finding the hidden "baggage" that went along with them. Surprise! It is actually just a bunch of Christian bible-banging bullshit. Page after page of quotations from the greatest work of fiction ever written, with some bumper-sticker homilies thrown in to lessen the pain. Please put a clue in the titles and or descriptions of your books.
